The Bad Guy 12-08-2011 09:28 AM

Grant Hill can still play.

RUSH 12-08-2011 09:33 AM

Yeah he still has game.

Can guard 3 positions and give you spot duty at the point. Probably one of the smartest players in the league as well.

And he might be 39 but he doesn't have a lot of mileage on his body considering all the time he missed earlier in his career.

KevB 12-08-2011 10:10 AM

Caron Butler supposedly favoring Bulls. Surprised he'd be their MLE guy given his injury history. I'd expect them to go hard after JRich first, although maybe they've already been told he's look for more $ than they can afford.

Celtics still angling for Chris Paul, and may be best option as Warriors and Clippers not interested in trading Curry or Gordon with chance Paul bolts after season.

Butler is a nice piece but doesn't really give the Bulls a good scoring option at the 2, their biggest need. JRich, while defensively deficient, provides scoring. He'd definitely be a better fit.

KevB 12-08-2011 01:05 PM

Now word is Tyson Chandler to the Knicks is almost certain. Billups probably traded or amnestied. Whispers of Amare then going to NO for Paul. Things are about to get crazy.

That would be a pretty good lineup. I can't believe that the Knicks would trade Amare after 1 season but who knows.

ChiefGator 12-08-2011 01:08 PM

Okay, what the hell does amnestied mean?

And can Shane Battier play? (this is a real question.. not rhetorical).

Once it gets outside Florida's college team, I hardly pay attention to basketball.

I love Battier, and especially what he brings to Miami. Better version of Mike Miller IMO. Heat were already the favorite, but Battier puts them over the top I believe, especially if they can add one more serviceable big.

Battier brings defense and 3pt shooting. He'll allow Bron/Wade breathers on D. Assuming they keep Miller, Miami's wing rotation will be Bron-Wade-Battier-Miller. Sick.

Caron Butler to Clippers, 3 yr/24M. Not sure Chicago had that kind of coin, and Clips moved quickly after Prince signed with Detroit. Camp starts tomorrow, so chaos for the next several days.

KevB 12-08-2011 02:36 PM

Big CP3 rumor now is Lakers get CP3, give Gasol to Rockets and KevMart and Scola to New Orleans. If Lakers don't give up Bynum/Odom in this deal, maybe they end up with CP3 and Howard after all.

Dwight Howard Expected To Request Trade To Nets
Dec 09, 2011 12:54 AM EST

The Nets emerged as the number one choice for Dwight Howard, according to multiple sources.

Howard is expected to ask the Magic to trade him to New Jersey.

The Nets are offering Brook Lopez and two first round picks to Orlando for Howard.

Despite their pursuit of Howard, the Nets are also actively engaged in talks with Nene in case they are unsuccessful.

Howard can become a free agent next summer.

Bulls are on the verge of signing Rip Hamilton. JRich would have been a bit better IMO, but he probably wants more money than Rip. Nice signing for the Bulls. They had to upgrade at SG, and they needed someone else that could score. That said, they could still use Jamal Crawford, as Rip isn't really a guy that creates his own shot. They need one more guy, other than Rose, who can create when the shot clock runs down.

okcchief 12-10-2011 10:36 PM

Howard has finally requested a trade. I would think it will be between NJ and LA. Dallas has been reportedly been clearing room for Paul, Howard or Williams but they may all get locked up if Howard goes to NJ. I don't see the Magic being interested in anything they have to offer trade wise.

I see Howard and Williams playing together with the Nets going to Brooklyn soon.

Chiefs Pantalones 12-10-2011 10:43 PM

I think the Bulls need to make a bigger splash than that to do some damage this year. Be creative with the cap, make some space, do something. We can't expect Rose to repeat his best Superman impersonation this year.

Chris Paul to the Clippers sounds like it might be close. There are differing reports on whether Eric Gordon is involved. If not, it will be a great deal for LA. Add Paul to Gordon, Griffin, Jordan (assuming the match) and Caron Butler and this team could be a force. Paul might average 15 assists throwing oops to Griffin and Jordan along with Gordon's outside shooting. Depth up front could be a problem, but what a fun team to watch.

Others saying Gordon is included, but Clippers don't want it to be reported in case deal falls through. Stern apparently also wants Bledsoe included. So the Hornets (Stern) want Gordon, Bledsoe, Kaman, Aminu and TWolves unprotected 1st round pick. That's nuts. Paul is great, but you don't trade a full starting lineup for the guy.

The Bad Guy 12-12-2011 10:04 AM

If Gordon isn't included, that's an awful deal for the Hornets. I know that people really hate Kevin Martin and Scola on most message boards, but that haul is basically Kaman, who is an oft-injured garbage man, Aminu, who has shown next to nothing (and a player the Clips keep burying with their acquisitons) and Bledsoe (who's hurt now, and has no offensive game) plus a first rounder that could end up in the 5-10 range.

I don't see how the Hornets get better with that. If Gordon is included, yes, if he's not, that's a terrible trade that will have the Hornets with an empty arena and nothing to draw any potential ownership group to it.

that Minny pick and then the Hornets being horrible this season, could end up being two top 5 picks and at least two top 10 lottery picks in a deep upcoming draft.

the potential of having any two of: Harrison Barnes, Anthony Davis, Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones, etc should be very attractive for a small market team that is in need of new owners.

I just don't get it. Gordon/Aminu/Kaman and maybe Bledsoe is pretty damn good for a guy that is 100% leaving after the season. Gordon is a top 30 or so player, with upside. I just don't understand what the league is trying to do here.

If this trade would have been proposed first no way they reject it. Because Stern outright ****ed the Lakers they can't accept another deal now. The Lakers deal gave the Hornets more so now way they could let this one go thru. The NBA is 100% wrong for what they have done and I hate the Lakers. Stern needs to go and the new person in charge needs to tell owners like Gilbert to **** off.
