Haley/Weis rift
If Weis goes to coach at KU, I guess we can throw out all the BS about family reasons he gave for leaving KC
|
I doubt he goes to KU and I doubt he left KC for family...
|
I think his son can/would follow him to Kansas if he did go.
|
Is this a rumor or just throwing stuff out there?
|
haley and weis were bff, everybody knew this.
|
I saw him in the Best Buy in Topeka yesterday
He was looking at reruns of Three's Company on Blu-Ray and Twinkie toasting machines. |

I could see where the flat lands of Kansas would be to Weis' advantage
|
that would be pretty sick if he came to KU. But something tells me it ain't happenin.

Someone as big a name as weis is not going to some shithole program like KU football.
|
Jamaal Charles can't go with him anyway
|
Just as long as he leaves Florida. He's not a good offensive coordinator.. perhaps never really was. He is very conservative and doesn't really seem to attack the other teams weaknesses. Seems to forget about plays that worked much to often as well.
Weis, get your stinking plans away from both my football teams... |

He should go to FSU... |

Maybe he's going to open a QB school and hire Matt Cassel as one of his instructors since Matt is his biggest star.

Hmm...if he dies on the job does KU still owe his remaining salary?

Weis isn't leaving Florida. His wife loves Ocala, his son loves UF and he's OC at one of the top 5 college football programs in the country. |
Since I never saw Haley adjust the headset of Weis in a violent Slapping motion kind of way like he recently did to Muir, I'm led to believe they truly were BFF!

Texas and Ohio State are successful?

Florida, ohio state, and Texas pull in the most amount of $$. I threw USC in there because they've had success and are a power school in a recruit-rich state. They pull in big $$ but closer to #15-20 than top-5 $$. |

And you should toast a glass to the heavens for it as well. That offense stunk. And he never has been really able to build around the strengths of his players. Maybe the first or second game against garbage he looked good, but other than that, the only good thing was the "Tebow up the middle" play was finally put to rest, a couple years after Tebow left. |

Good call on Weis not leaving. |

As for saying Weis isn't leaving - shame on me for taking a coach at his word. I should have learned from Urban not to trust anything a coach says. Two weeks ago Weis was quoted as saying: “I'm going to coach for a long time,” Weis said. “My wife said I can't quit. That's not (an issue). Remember, I've got a kid who's a freshman in college here. Remember the reasons I came here. I'll be here for a while, unless you're trying to get rid of me.” |

No way Haley and Weis can coexist in the same town.

I like Weis... he has an ego but a lot of people in football do. Nice aggressive hire. I really do think he's a top shelf offensive coach. I also think he's a good fit in the Big XII too because there are a lot more teams that play shootout offense and mediocre D.
My only concern is does he have the drive to recruit at this stage. That's a big concern. Especially in a place where he can't sell the Notre Dame tradition or the fact all the games are on national TV. |

KU is paying him a shit-ton of $$ so that's likely why he left. |
IM still amazed at the job Mangino did overall at KU. I mean, dude managed to win a BCS game at KU. Thats pretty amazing when you consider the sad football history of KU.
|
I'm thinking ever since he left ND, this has all been a ploy to get back to the head coacking at the collegiate level. Maybe that's what he wanted the whole time.
