Kind of excited for the Packers game.
If nothing else to see exactly what our secondary is worth. The Pack doesn't run the ball so I expect Crennel to drop 8 all game and allow Starks or Grant to put up around 100 yards rushing.
Will be interesting to see what Rodgers does to us, though. Our corners match up extremely well with their receivers, with the exception of Jermichael Finley due to us not having a safety athletic enough to keep up with him with Berry injured. I imagine Crennel could employ the same system he used against Manning last year in Indianapolis. Stick a corner on the receiver that best matches his abilities Brandon Flowers: Greg Jennings Brandon Carr: Jordy Nelson Javier Arenas: James Jones Travis Daniels: Donald Driver Jon McGraw: Jermichael Finley (McGraw did shut down Dallas Clark last year...) Could be fun, I think Donald Washington's blazing speed could be a great fit for containing Randall Cobb. |
Not sure if serious.

The Packers will fall.
Then, the Packers will get up. Then the Packers will kick our ass into next week. FAX |

I'm actually not nearly concerned with their offense as I am with their defense. Our Offensive futility is going to cost us this game. If our D that showed up the last few weeks continues we should be able to keep the game close. But Raji, and Matthews and Hawk will probably be hasseling Failco/Orton most of the night.

I'll get back to you after the Jets game.

The Chiefs have a chance if they injure Rodgers AND Flynn within the first quarter before either of them can do much damage to us.
That last preseason game we played was basically the Graham Harrell show, and we very nearly beat them. If we turn it into the Graham Harrell show on Sunday, we have a chance. Other than that... umm... yeah. We're going to lose. Big time. |

Our D will play well for a quarter then collapse due to the Packers having the ball after every third snap by Casey Wiegmann.

They could put 60 on us. Really.

Also, we need to find a way to injure Jermichael Finley. That's shouldn't be too hard, though. He's more brittle than Tony Moeaki with osteoporosis.
|
Rodgers is going to destroy us.
Destroy. Crush. Kill. |
The Packers' offensive line isn't that good, but Rodgers makes it look pretty good at times... Starks is banged up and sucks, and Grant hasn't been good this year. 29th in the league in rushing yards.
Every team knows these things, and it doesn't matter. At least I know I'll get a game that includes a decent QB... hopefully the Chiefs' D can provide enough resistance to make it interesting for a little while. |

The Packers D isn't that good. We might be able to hit the under and cover the spread if we focus on running a Tebow style offense. We'd still get our taints handed to us, but not as miserably.
Tyler Palko starting against that team, trying to run a conventional offense, is a recipe for the worst ass whipping in Arrowhead history. |
How awesome would it be for Tyler Palko to defeat the undefeatable?
It will happen |

It appears that Brandon Saine is this year's James Starks. They'll probably be held to under 100 by our rush defense, but that's going to be enough |

Ok here's the plan.
One of you guys in KC find out when the GB plane is scheduled to land. Put on a white shirt with black pants and a nice hat. Find the team bus they've rented. Scope out the driver and when he wanders into the restroom follow him in there and bounce an axe handle off his head. When the team lands load them up and then drive aimlessly around KC. Better yet get on I-70 going east. Make sure you keep them on the bus long enough until they are forced into a forfeit. Of course they might eventually rip you limb from limb but your name will go down in the annals of CP history. You will never be forgotten. And, the surviving 72 dolphins will probably start a trust fund for your family. |

Jennings is an awful matchup for Flowers. He doesn't rely on size, he relies on speed and moves. Jennings will burn Flowers deep at least once. Jones is also a terrible matchup for Arenas for many of the same reasons. Arenas simply isn't big or athletic enough to hang with Jones. Daniels v. Driver is an edge for us because Daniels is playing pretty well right now and Driver is a dinosaur. McGraw v. Finley...God help us. And in what universe does Washington have blazing speed? Sorry, but we're very clearly an athlete short in the secondary. With Berry back there you could cheat a little and ensure that your corners have steady help over the top, but McGraw just can't cover that ground. Worse still, with Belcher being a liability in coverage and Houston being raw, we really need to focus on giving our LBs safety help. DJ could do a lot, but we'll probably want to have him dialed up in some blitz schemes or Rodgers will maul us. I'm sorry, but this secondary most assuredly does not match up well against the Packers. Maybe it will next season (presuming Carr returns and Berry comes back healthy), but not this year. |

My guess is we will hold Rodgers to an off day. 102.3 QB rating, 299 yards passing and 2 TDs.
Packers win 27 to 3. |
It's amazing how people overrate this team.
We're not playing Caleb Hanie, Curtis Painter, Kyle Boller or Donovan McNabb's corpse. Sheesh. |

This thread sucks.

remember that scenein Pulp Fiction where Ving Raimes is getting his oil checked?
yeah...that's what's going to happen at Arrowhead when we play the Pack. |

Now... it's just pathetic. |
We could kidnap Rodgers and take him to a secluded site and take turns screaming "Hey Rodgers, discount doublecheck" over and over and over for 3 days, then let him go when he has barely enough time to catch the flight.

I'm excited for this game, but I'm also sad.
Will be my first Chiefs game missed in many years. I'll have to DVR it and watch after I get home. This is a dagger in the heart for me. I can not stand having to watch the game after it's happened. :( |

The Packers are going to ask us how we want it.

In fact, this was one of my surprise upset games of the year way back when before the season started. Our Chiefs occasionally find a way to defeat teams we have no business beating. This is a trap game for the Packers, anyhow. They'll overlook us, no matter what they say beforehand. Besides, they may have their deal locked up by then and, if so, may not even start their starters ... which ... actually ... would make it kinda fair since we're not starting our starters either. FAX |
There are rumors that Palko might be able to engineer a single TD drive.

It is written in Stanzi's future. He will be deployed in the Packers game. He will be deployed and he will dominate them.

Patriots Game Redux.
We'll shut them down for the first quarter and call it a game. |
Good test for the D.
Of course, if Rodgers does shred it, it doesnt really matter since he does it every week. |

Do you like sticking rusty forks in your eyes too?

I think you will get your ass beat just like the Raiders will tomorrow...
The only chance the Raiders have in this game is if we had a few more healthy. Very rarely do I predict a loss, but I am pretty sure of it tomorrow... If the Raiders can get to Rodgers we can keep it close but if they don't pressure him I expect a blowout. |
I'm excited for the Packers-Raiders game too. Always nice seeing the Silver and Black get curbstomped. Now, the game next week...not so much.

Just with the pressure of being undefeated, I think the rest of their games will be close.

I would love for the Raiders to pull one out off their ass and win this and piss the Packers off and play the Chiefs the next week

You are probably right... My Confidence level is not very high at this time but we have been known to beat the good teams and lose to the shit teams for years... If Bush can run and we can get to Rodgers we have a chance, if not we will get beat bad. Full Power we could beat them if we played a great game, with all of these injuries, I just don't see it. |
I just hope we see Stanzi in the next few weeks. Otherwise this season has been a total waste.

I can't wait until this season is over. Pioli and Haley have made the Chiefs completely unwatchable with their horrific offense.
I never thought I'd say this but Herm's teams were more exciting than this shit. |
