ToxSocks 12-12-2011 10:56 AM

ToxSocks 12-12-2011 10:58 AM

You ****ing tard. You did it. You put in Cowher.

Cowher will not HC anywhere unless he's also the GM. Cowher is NOT an option. Shouldn't even be in the poll.

ToxSocks 12-12-2011 10:59 AM

BTW, what a shitty list. I don't want any of them.

KC_Lee 12-12-2011 11:00 AM

Nick Saban?!?!

Yeah he did such a great job in Miami!!! :banghead: :banghead:

This.

I'm not convinced he's a candidate for anywhere. Wouldn't have have come back by now if he was going to coach?

Predarat 12-12-2011 11:01 AM

Brian ****ing Billick!

Crennel would be an unmitigated disaster. Go with him.

What a list of the who's who of shit.

Skyy God 12-12-2011 11:06 AM

After some hasty research, I'm going to go with Packers Asst HC Winston Moss. 3-4 experience, not an overly controlling former OC.

SenselessChiefsFan 12-12-2011 11:06 AM

I would like to see Mangini with McDaniels as OC. Okay, flame away.

I guess, I should say that of the options that I consider realistic, I would like to see Mangini and McDaniels.

The key is an ability to work together, and I think that McDaniels, Mangini, Crennel and Pioli would all be on the same page the majority of the time.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with Stoops.

Cheifs need to make a splash...and I'm tired of coaching retreads.

bsp4444 12-12-2011 11:11 AM

No love for Jeff Fisher?

Reerun_KC 12-12-2011 11:11 AM

I cant even vote...

its like voting to have your dick ran through a meat tenderizer or voting to have your dick ran through a wood chipper..

The outcome isnt pretty, Same with this pathetic attempt of a list...

Mojo Jojo 12-12-2011 11:12 AM

Pioli will want someone he can control, and most of the big names know that...look for an assistant that wants a HC job.

Stoops is good friends with Carl...I doubt he would even listen.

FD 12-12-2011 11:13 AM

Nobody on that list really appeals to me. Anyone but Jeff Fisher and I wont be too upset though.

CaliforniaChief 12-12-2011 11:14 AM

I'm afraid it's going to be Ferentz. Of all the times he's been listed as a candidate, now is the time I suspect he'd be most willing to jump. Yes, he's the king of Iowa and he's happy where he's at...but he's been with the Hawkeyes a long time and his son is graduating, I believe.

I'd be kosher with:

Bruce Arians (Clark does want Pittsburgh West, right?)
Rob Chudzinski (What he did with Newton...we could do with RG3, right?)
Jay Gruden (Again, good work with a young QB, and I love his dad.)
Rob Ryan (Yeah, his star's a bit tarnished right now but I think he could do some great things with our young D.)
Joe Philbin (Yeah, he looks like a computer programmer and won't drop F bombs like Todd, but he did help develop Rodgers.)

gblowfish 12-12-2011 11:24 AM

I wouldn't mind Jeff Fisher, think he could do a good job if Chiefs fans can be patient with him molding the team for long term. Don't think he is a quick fix kind of guy, but I think he would bring a pasion into the team and have a gleam in his eye from that glaring shine off of the Vince Lombardi trophy that he just was so close to achieving. He has years of coaching left in him imo.

I does matter. We have to have a coach that is willing to draft a QB.

Bump 12-12-2011 11:39 AM

the only guy from that list I'd be ok with is Gruden. The guy is a winner.

i'm afraid Scott Pioli + Kyle Orton = Josh McDaniels.

Fisher, Billick or even Mangini. Believe it or not, Mangini seems to know what he's talking about as an analyst. Billick is extremely smart but too old. Fisher is a can't miss.

I like Gruden, but there's no way he'd get along with Pioli if Haley couldn't get along with Pioli. Abrasive personalities. And based on Tampa, Gruden doesn't want a job if he doesn't have final personnel say, so that won't work here. Plus, if you want to guarantee a coach who will stick with veteran retread QB's, that's Gruden...

If you take out Vince Young's games, Fisher has a career 52% winning percentage. In 17 years Fisher's teams made the playoffs 6 times. The man is the very image of mediocrity and why the media loves him so much is completely inexplicable to me.

Since you looked it up, what was it with Vince Young's games? You can't just take that out like it didn't exist.

That reminds me the DV line he used to throw out "Well if you take out that 1 big run, our defense played pretty good." ??? Coach. That happened.

Just over 54% with Young's 30-17 record. I dropped those because Fisher was clear he never wanted Vince as his QB and pulled him from games whenever he could.

Reerun_KC 12-12-2011 12:04 PM

I hope the rumors of Crennel being the HC are false....

Talk about a kick in the balls, I am sick of him and his defense.

Chief Roundup 12-12-2011 12:04 PM

Pioli was hired to bring the "Patriot Way" to the Chiefs. The next HC will be from the Patriot/ Parcells tree.

lcarus 12-12-2011 12:04 PM

Now they're saying on 610 exactly what I posted 5 minutes ago. They're worried Pioli will hire a "yes man". Which is exactly what I believe will happen.

As much as I hate it, Cowher is a very, very real option here.

At least from what I've been told.

Clark leans on Marty a lot. Apparently, Marty has been telling him for months that Haley is a garbage HC.

I hope you're right. If Pioli stays married to Matt Cassel as the QB of this team, and hires a coach that will accommodate that madness, I might set my face on fire and put it out with a train.

Numerous reports have been flowing for years saying that Cowher wants full control. If Pioli is here, Cowher won't be.

That's why it's not an option.

I don't think he's looking for a yes man. But I certainly think he's looking for someone he has ties to which is sad.

That limits the candidates of possible good HCs out there.

I think he is looking for a yes man. We'll see what we have in a GM this off season. If he signs a "yes" man and forces Cassel on him, we know what we should expect for the next several years.

Clark may not tolerate Haley, but you know damn well he loves him some Pioli.

This is what I've been told, and I don't trust all of what I hear from people anymore either, but he doesnt necessarily want full contol. He wants to coach and collaborate.

He wants to get back into a situation in a town he's familiar with, with a roster that he can win with immediately. He doesn't want to build a team.

He wants a ready-made situation.

I think he'd take the job on 2 conditions. 1) There were plans on getting a QB in place. 2) He had a lot of input in decision. Not full control. But input.

Cowher won't be saddled with any leftovers either. He'd bring in his entire staff.
