Monday, December 12, 2011: A Day That Will Live In Infamy

Fade into the dark of night, oh Crazy Prince Of On-Side Kicks. Yet, once more, shall you emerge on the sideline for another team and rub Pioli's nose in the dirt by kicking our asses into oblivion and probably destroying our playoff hopes in the bargain.

Meanwhile, there are some bad things that are happening ... namely ...

1) Romeo is head coach. That means he will have less time to spend on the defense and the defense will likely suffer as a result.

2) Pioli appears to have chosen Cassel over Haley. I mean, wow.

3) This franchise is like unto an episode of "Real Housewives Of Arrowhead". We are the longest-running, dysfunctional soap-opera in the NFL featuring a main character with stinky-finger.

4) Muir is now OC without direction or guidance. I am now prepared to see us gain less than 4 yards of offense in a half of professional football.

5) Clark has transferred his father complex to Pioli.

6) Whatever the "Patriot Way" is or might be, it ain't working here.

I know the Haley haters have had their day, but I, for one, wish Haley well in all future endeavors and now hope that kcchiefs.com will crash as Karma in all its wisdom decides to infect their servers with an impervious slathering of Tebow juice.

If they ever make a movie about him, Danny Devito is the only possible choice to play him. Maybe that Mini-Me guy.

Okie_Apparition 12-12-2011 06:17 PM

Is it a year to the day the Mayans win
& Tebow is raptured

ChiefsCountry 12-12-2011 06:18 PM

2.28.09 is the darkest day in Chiefs history.

Man, this place is a freaking mess today. I don't even know where to begin.

FringeNC 12-12-2011 07:03 PM

I'm with you Fax.

Scott Pioli comes out of this looking like a piece of crap.

He bets everything on Cassel, and of all people, he should have know Cassel sucks, given the familiarity.

Tells Haley Cassel is his QB. Blames Haley for Cassel's 2009 blowfest.

Forces Weis on Haley to fix Cassel, who after watching 5 minutes of film, concludes Cassel is a lost cause, and refuses to work with him.

But most damning, is all the shit he leak to the media about Haley. Who in the **** will want to work for Pioli now?

One more thing: Pioli and McDaniels were on the market at the same time originally. If I were Clark Hunt, I'd want to know why didn't we hire McD THEN. If they are so tight, McD would have waited for Pioli to accept the job.

Never, i'd accept McDaniels any day of the week and twice on Gameday over Haley.

A long time ago I learned a valuable lesson. I forget what it was right now ... but I am reminded of something.

Moving Romeo to HC is about all you can do ... I mean he's the only viable candidate on the staff, but it means the defense won't receive his full attention any longer and that's not good. Especially considering the recent, overall improvement.

I don't see much good coming out of this deal. I can only hope now that the Haters were right and we'll find a head coach who can do something special with this team. Meanwhile, I'm hanging a dead toad in a tree in an effort to attract somebody who can mow my lawn for less than $100 bucks.

If you think yesterday is the day that would live in infamy, think again. The Chiefs' new beginning was doomed when Scott Pioli's first move three years ago was to sign Matt Cassell to a $60 million contract, thus forfeiting a 1st round draft pick the following year. Haley just happened to add insult to injury when he convinced Pioli that Mike Muir needed to be hired as the OC, even though he hadn't called a single offensive play in the pros in his life before coming to Kansas City.

Zorn flamed out as a head coach as well. I mean, he was a viable replacement. I suppose.

Emmit Thomas was an interm head coach in Atlanta.

We had a few viable interm guys, but go figure it was the 'Pioli guy' who was named to that duty.

Suck it up Planeteers, Haley wasn't anything special and Pioli only has one more coaching hire and he's gone. Always look on the bright side of life.

According to Michael Holley, Pioli and McDaniels didn't speak to each other about their plans as they were exiting New England because they didn't want to look like they were working in cahoots and planning a mass exodus. Because Belichick might have taken it the wrong way and both Josh and Pioli could have ended up like Mangini: disowned from the family and wishing Papa Bill would send them a Christmas card as they huddle in a dank alley, eating week-old macaroni and cheese out of a dumpster.

Without any question, Todd Haley had plenty of flaws. But in a few years, if we line up Pioli, Haley, Clark, Cassel and anyone else who's been a key part of the Chiefs power structure since the start of 2009, and we rank them in order of who did the most amount of good for the Chiefs -- or the least amount of bad, if you prefer -- I'd bet dollars to donuts that Haley wins in a landslide.

And now those other guys are all that's left.

Maybe i've gone off the deep end but i've just had enough of Haley having the team so prepared on gameday
and scoring so many points plus sticking with Palko was just simply amazing.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really liked Haley. I hope he get's another chance at HC and wins it all. Hell, if the Chiefs don't fix this shit soon I may have to do something I have never done before. Cheer for another NFL team...

Apparently these hockey playing 9 years olds from Khazakhstan found out that Haley was fired. The other team decided to crack some mean jokes about how the franchise is going backwards, and this ensued.

December 12th, 2012.

I think Haley was screwed
many of the faults (OC debauchery) were his

but lack of depth of a decent QB
that goes on Pioloi

I will miss you CRAZY TODD
Fare well

WhiteWhale 12-13-2011 05:05 PM

I'm torn on this.

There were justifiable reasons to fire Haley (as well as retain him) but I don't feel he was fired for those justifiable reasons.

Like another said, I feel Haley has done more to improve this team than Scott Pioli has.
