What TYPE of head coach do you want?

Without naming names... which TYPE of head coach would you like to see take over in KC?

OK I was slow to get the POLL up (har har, make your jokes at that one)

You have 5 basic choices....

Former NFL head coach out of football (Gruden, Cowher, Fisher)

Former head coach still in football (Crennel, etc)

Up and coming NFL coach (Chudzinski, Winston Moss, etc)

College coach (Stoops, etc)

DeezNutz 12-12-2011 06:56 PM

One not from The Tree.

FloridaMan88 12-12-2011 06:57 PM

A coach with prior head coaching experience and someone not from the Parcells/Belicheck coaching tree. Someone who will challenge Pioli.

Fisher as HC + Norv Turner as OC.

Donger 12-12-2011 06:58 PM

Fancy dresser.

Appreciates me.

Always makes me cum first.

only requirement i have is he must know how to win,

tired of losing.

Okie_Apparition 12-12-2011 07:02 PM

Offensive...from the offense side of the ball

AustinChief 12-12-2011 07:19 PM

I'd like to see a NEW coach.. yes I know Haley was one of those... but let's be honest.. the guy was an asshole. He may be a wonderful sweet human in real life, but as a coach, he was an asshole. So, back to what I want... in a perfect world, we would have hired Jim Harbaugh... but I'd be fine with a Stoops or a Chudzinsky or Winston Moss.

Gadzooks 12-12-2011 07:21 PM

You guys should get Brian Billick.

Backwards Masking 12-12-2011 07:24 PM

Dick Vermeil - he had the offense down pat, in Goodell's Flag Football League we'll make a Super Bowl run every year. No one will allowed to play defense in 3 years anyway.

Rain Man 12-12-2011 07:34 PM

My preferred order would be:

Up and coming NFL non-head coach (someone who might be the next great one and just needs a chance - gotta roll the dice to win big)
College coach (hopefully a diamond not yet discovered, same as above)
NFL head coach out of league (a chance that he went out on his own terms)
NFL head coach in league (took a demotion, can't be that good)

An up and comer is a pipe dream at this point.

Clark will not do it. He saw enough with Haley.

I meant to respond to Gadzooks post that we hire Billick, not the post I copied BTW. Not a Fischer Fan myself.

Gadzooks 12-12-2011 07:38 PM

You guys should get Steve Mariucci.

I'm not sure about Mooch. Pretty sure he lived off the talent of the previous regime.

No, but I could see him going for an established head coach from college... Stoops, Chip Kelly, Bret Bielema, Pat Fitzgerald, Les Miles... hell, I'll throw out a dark horse that I would love to have... Gary Patterson.

FAX 12-12-2011 07:48 PM

I fear that the only criteria that will be considered from this point forward is someone who will serve as Pioli's lapdog and follow the Patriot Way (whatever that is) without deviation or discussion.

Is there anybody like that out there?

cdcox 12-12-2011 07:48 PM

One that insists on drafting and developing a QB.

Yeah I think that's plausible.

Dayze 12-12-2011 07:59 PM

a HC that recognizes that you need a QB...a legit QB to win a championship. So much so, that he's willing to hitch his wagon to that QB and sink or swim with him.

a coach that realizes that at the end of the day, the only goal should be winning a super bowl.

a coach that develops a teams' identity and cultivates an unshakeable confidence in the players.

Any coach that doesn't demand his own QB is a lost cause.

BigMeatballDave 12-12-2011 08:05 PM

Someone who has not been a HC and not from the tree.

BigMeatballDave 12-12-2011 08:09 PM

I like Les Miles a lot.

WhiteWhale 12-12-2011 09:51 PM

This is a young man's game.

Enough with coaches pushing 60.

No, he didn't.

Mooch took over the 9ers when the 'previous regime's' team was collapsing. He made them a winner again and they've sucked ever since he left.

I actually wanted to hire Mooch in 2001 rather than DV. He was my pick.

His failure in Detroit was easy to explain. Joey Harrington sucks, and he had no option to get a better QB.

He's not my pick for HC, but he sure didn't gravy train much existing talent.
