I think Clark fired Haley here's why!
I think Clark Hunt fired Haley. I think the game Sunday was the final straw. When you talk the talk like Clark did about building a winner blowout losses are not acceptable. I think Pioli got him to wait till Monday morning but I
don't think he could change his mind. Pioli may have been served notice to shape up as well. If you watched the body language in the Press conference Clark was exuding confidence and Pioli seemed a little shaken. |
|
I thought it was a lovely story and you tell it so well. And with such enthusiasm.
|
Hunt should've also fired Pioli for wasting the entire '09 draft, and failing to bring in any big time players via free agency.

Thank God we finally got to the bottom of this! It's like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

I don't think Clark fired Haley, but I do agree that Pioli seemed shaken. Whether it was an act, I don't know. Hunt may have let him have it. Perhaps he informed Pioli that Cassel is gone due to season ticket non-renewals.
|
When you talk the talk like Clark does, you sit on $30M of cap space and blame your HC for the team's failures.
|
The best thing is that, I believe, the first thing Pioli did was to decide to let jason Babin walk into UFA for nothing...
Babin, worthless, never played for the PATS... LOL!!! |
Now, consider never going 3-4, and keeping Babin and Hali at DE....
|
I don't think it matter who fired Haley.
I do think Pioli is on notice. You can see it in his body language and in his words about he needs to do a better job. Hunt wants a team that challenges for champioinships and one that the fans can rally around. Now, someone needs to tell the tight wad to loosen those purse strings a little and let people do their job. |

Pioli needs to go NOW before he brings in his cock buddy McDickface

Josh McD - he'd rather have Cassel than Cutler!!!
PATS RULE BABY!!!!!!!!!!! |

How do you go young, and build through the draft, without being under the cap? Considering the lockout crap, and the general time table involved, what free agents would you have picked up? Where would you spend the 30 million? I know it was two years in a row, but do you think it is being a tight wad or committed to the youth movement? |
Scott, is that you? I had no idea that you summered in the Ozarks...
|
The Eagles spent under $6 mil per year hiring Jason Babin this offseason...
Good thing Piolio let him walk for nuttin... |

But he's RIGHT. |

They weren't very active in free agency at all. And the youth movement thing is bullshit when you sign a 28-year old QB who didn't even play in college. |

Pioli was shaken because hes not used to sitting in a chair without a chilli dog in his hand and a plate of nachos in front of him. He was Not upset over Haley getting fired no way no how. |

He has said a bunch of times that he wanted to go to a team that runs a scheme that he excelled at in college and that's what he did. If we were still a 4-3 team that used its ends as pass rushers first, he would still be here. |
Fire Polly too!

LOL!!! Scott Pioli is accountable for his "opportunity cost." The "cost" of switching to the 3-4 with Tyson Jackson etc. was huge. And the 3-4 still has a pass rush of Hali and, well, maybe Houston in the future, but before a few games ago, it was Hali and just Hali for Pioli's whole tenure here, and Pioli didn't even land Hali... Babin's quote is this year, or last year, and yes he is just a 4-3 DE, but he was flashing here right before Pioli was signed, and Pioli sat on his "PATS RULE" chair and never questioned whether or not the GIVEN TALENT ON HIS ROSTER was better suited for 4-3. It was. All he had to do was keep Jason Babin from walking in UFA for minimum... Sorry, that's on Pioli's record, and tossing cards and whining doesn't change that. JASON BABIN = PIOLI's FIRST HUGE ERROR HERE |

Chiefs fans arn't patient now because such a long drout from winning any thing big. We have to learn how to be patient with a young team and QB that has the potential to be something greater than the best teams out there. They need to play potential and stick to the guns and conviction in this to work. The wins will come as the team grows together and learns how to be a team that relies on each other keeping each accountable on and off the field. Consistancy & familiarity are key components in all this. I was against bringing in Cassel or any other retread QB to boot. I have always believed in drafting a QBotf and letting him play his rookie year, to hell with sitting him on the bench for his first year. I didn't want Joe Montana at the time we traded for him. I have stuck with this team just to see a QB draft pick grow and develop into something special for long term success that is fun to watch. Not the two year window retread but for a 10+ year window of championships opportunity. That has been my conviction all these years. |
I only saw a few seconds & noticed his hair language
He's growing a mullet There was a hair spray hardend duck tail at the least |
I watch MetroSports coverage of the presser last night. Baldinger wondered if word of what Haley said to get the penalty got to the Commish's office & the Commish's office told Hunt.
|
I assumed Haley went full Singletary & showed the refs his bare ass

As long as that looks reeruned to you, and letting Jason Babin walk in FA for nothing doesn't... You'll have your curiosity satisfied early on a late Thursday every April... |
JASON BABIN WOULD FIX ALL OF OUR QB PROBLEMS!!!!!1111111!!!!!!1111

I'm sure that there have been conversations between the Chiefs FO and the NFL regarding the penalty drive, though. That thing was scary. FAX |

Here is what is pretty funny - No twitter rumors or talk about the Chiefs prior to the team announcing Haley's firing on the net. Then, for the next 3 hours until the press conference everyone has inside info. Press conference happens and no more inside info. The well is dry. Back to normal.
|
It's a fair point. When you as the owner make the point that you want to build a stable organization for the long run like the Steelers, and that Scott Pioli is your architect, and the next thing that happens is that you find out your organization is as dysfunctional as ever, well I'd be pissed too...

The issue for a GM is opportunity cost. What was the cost of switching to a 3-4? A: Tyson Jackson, a #3 overall pick, plus an assortment of NTs like Gregg and Powe and OLB rushers like the Third spent on tokin Houston. The cost of keeping Babin and Hali in a 4-3 was nothing. You want a QB? Go back and re-think that in terms of the picks the Chiefs had, and what Pioli did with them, and how many were "re-creating the Pats" especially a 3-4 that was a huge cost and a waste of time given what a 4-3 with Babin and Hali looks like retrospectively... |
