SNot there yet, but into the semis with this roster. #3 seed, out of 8. Top 1 and 2 seeds have been upset in round 1.
Stafford Rice M. Bush Ray Rice Roddy White Antonio Brown Aaron Hernandez Chris Johnson - Flex Akers GB D I've got great matchups next week. The top seed was incredibly stacked and I really only felt his team could compete with mine if all of the teams remained consistent. My potential foe in the semis: Brady R. Bush Lynch Marshall Fitzgerald Gafney Cedric Benson - Flex Dan Bailey SF D |

Had the 5th pick and took Rice. QB/WR run happened after my pick and then I took McCoy in the 2nd round. I then traded Beanie Wells when he tearing it up (around week 7) for Andre when he was hurt. I figured Andre was going to come back around week 9. The trade hasn't worked out for me obviously but I would do it again since my WR's were mediocre after Kenny Britt was injured. And Bush >>> Wells. |

Big money CP league.
Hopefully DMC stays on the bench. I got lucky this week since Brady hooked up with Hernandez instead of Gronk. Gronk was on the team I played. Interesting category in this league, the winning coach is 5 pts. I was worried about the 49ers' D so I picked up the Bengals D, no worries though so I put that D back in. Before you ask, I've had McCown all year, just never dropped him. And we have to have the numbers at the positions (if I trade a RB for a WR, I have to drop a WR and pick up a RB before I can set my active roster).

3 leagues and 3 championship matchups. All of them 12 team leagues - a hell of a year for my squads.
My team is listed first on all three. The Chiefsplanet matchup is the third matchup (vs OTWP). I plowed through Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees respectively to get into the finals in those three leagues. Win or lose, I'm excited as all hell to have gotten all 3 of them into the finals. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/pictu...pictureid=1076 |

Anyway, second place and $75 isn't too bad, IMO. Dad is the commissioner of the league starting this year. He said he's had multiple people ask him if he gets the money if I win. WTF? Do they think that he's running my team for me or something? My first year in the league, I had a guy ask if he was going to help me draft (and also kept offering me horrible trades all season). I won it all that year. :) |
QB: Tom Brady
RB: Shawn Greene, Ben Tate, Daniel Thomas WR: Marques Colston, Hakeem Nicks, Dez Bryant, Michael Crabtree TE: Rob Gronkowski K: Neil Rackers D: Lions yup, this team got me in the championship game, LOL |
Made two championships (my two biggest money leagues, as well!!!)
They are both PPR leagues with built in bonuses (5 points for 100 yards rushing/receiving, 3 points for 300 yards passing)...they are both OP leagues, and receiving scores are 8 points while rushing/throwing scores are 6 points. Bonus points are 3 for a 40 yard TD and 3 for a 50 yard TD except for a receiving TD (those are always 8 points). So a 50 yard TD pass is 12 points for the QB, and a 50 yard rushing TD is 12 points for the rusher. A 40 is 9 for each. I'm also the point leader in both leagues (a nice payout for that, as well, assuming I hold on this last week): Roster 1 (my baby) STARTING LINEUP: QB: Tom Brady RB: Roy Helu RB: Khalil Bell RB/WR: Laurent Robinson WR: Dez Bryant WR: Calvin Johnson WR: Wes Welker TE: Jimmy Graham OP: Matt Stafford DEF: KC K: Alex Henery (I am debating on putting Titus Young or Donald Brown in for Laurent Robinson this week at RB/WR but I doubt I will since I'd hate to bench one of the beasts who got me here, and he's still getting plenty of red zone looks) Roster 2 STARTING LINEUP: QB: Mike Vick RB: Felix Jones RB: Beanie Wells RB/WR: Titus Young (will probably switch to Khalil Bell if I somehow get him off of waivers) WR: Hakeem Nicks WR: Vincent Jackson WR: Laurent Robinson TE: Rob Gronkowski OP: Matt Stafford DEF: Seahawks K: Graham Gano Points pay out top 3 spots, in league 1 I'm guaranteed 1st or 2nd and am up by 30 points on 2nd place (a good score for a week is 200 points so I need a strong week to stay in 1st, but I play the 2nd place guy so we have a ton of money at stake between league title and points title)... In league 2 I am up by 40 points on 2nd place, 45 on 3rd and 50 on 4th...so a shitty week and I can lose the title and lose every payout for points (points pay out 3 spots)... So if I win both leagues and both point titles I win $1000. Worst case scenario I walk with $500 (there is a scenario where I get less but it's very unlikely)... Really crossing my fingers for one more big week...I have ultimate confidence in team 1 but team 2 I don't trust Beanie, Nicks, Young, Laurent...lots of ??? in a PPR on that team... Either way...I have been running these two leagues for years as the commish between friends from home and it's pretty cool in two keeper leagues I am 1st in points and am favored in each championship...first time that's happened in our leagues and my friends aren't so happy about it! But what can I say...I am the guru after all! ;) |
also, if you all notice...
my strategy, in PPR 6 point TD leagues...I tank the RB position and draft "definites" (QB's/WR's)...not nearly as injury prone. I never draft Adrian Peterson, MJD or Jamaal Charles. I traded McFadden for Welker the week before McFadden got injured... In fact, roster 1 I made the following trades: I traded Steven Jackson, Sam Bradford and Felix Jones for Tom Brady and Reggie Bush (who I dropped week 4) before the season. HUGE WIN. After week 1, I traded Dwayne Bowe, Reggie Wayne and James Starks for Calvin Johnson (obviously a HUGE WIN, and cashed in on Reggie Wayne's name before he lost all value). and then, as previously mentioned, I sold McFadden SUPER high and landed Welker in a PPR bonus league (for yards)... Calvin is the #1 WR and Welker is the #2 WR...by far. Shit, in roster 1 Calvin and Stafford ALONE combined for 102 points for me...I won by like 80 points and even started Marion Barber over Bell and Donald Brown... |
Made it to the championship round in my friends league. The one where bragging rights are the most important, of course.
Me: Tom Brady Arian Foster Steven Jackson Mike Wallace Dwayne Bowe Legarette Blount (this is a flex spot and am considering Torrey Smith vs Cleveland) Jimmy Graham Jason Hanson 49ers D Him: Tony Romo Ryan Matthews LeSean McCoy Calvin Johnson Dez Bryant Julio Jones Antonio Gates Nick Novak Bears D (the Bears face the Packers this week so I have a feeling he'll look to the waiver wire) |
Quote:
Scoring: QB - 1 pt for every 25 yds passing, 1 pt for every yd rushing, 6 pts for passing TD (more with distance), 12 points for rushing TD (more with distance), -1 for FL, -1 for sack RB - 1 pt for every 10 yds rushing (extra point after 100 yds), 1 pt for every 10 yds receiving (extra pt after 50 yds) 6 pts for rushing TD (more with distance), 12 points for receiving TD (more with distance), -1 for FL WR - Opposite of RB TE - Same as WR only with extra point after 50 yds K - 3-5 pts depending on distance of FG, 1 pt for XP DST - Start out with 7 pts and lose pts the more points that are scored against them, 1 pt for FR, 1 pt for sack, 6 pts for DTD, 6 pts for special teams TD |
is Khalil Bell available on your waiver wire?
I like him a hell of a lot more than a Giants back. Other than that, I think you're starting the right players. |
In the money league, it's me vs. Coffey for a $330 payout.
My team: (Originally had Starks/Ingram, picked up Bell/Ball to cockblock Coffey or owners in the 3rd place game) http://i44.tinypic.com/iwksbq.jpg Coffey's team: http://i39.tinypic.com/292rbc8.jpg |

Or move Matthews to Flex and fill my RB spot with him. |
The guru (me) really, really, really likes Khalil Bell this week...and he likes him more than Beanie Wells.
Now do realize...the guru plays in PPR leagues so perhaps that is part of the infatuation, but I think Bell starts over Barber and gets Forte like touches...and I think Bell is one of those guys that shines with opportunity...he's young and hungry. The guru thinks Bell is going to win some championships for those with some guts to start him. The guru is definitely starting Bell in both his championship games, but the Guru also plays in leagues where you start 11 players instead of 8 or 9. The guru sticks by his thoughts that non OP leagues are dumb...but he also plays in leagues where you start 2 RB's, 3 WR's and a flex. But the guru is starting Bell over Beanie...(that's a bold prediction)...but DEFINITELY Bell over Bradshaw/Jacobs. and I'd keep Floyd at flex...this is a passing league and the sooner people realize that the sooner people will start realizing you don't need stud RB's to win fantasy leagues... I look at all these championship rosters and you know what I see? I see Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford, Drew Brees, Rob Gronkowski, Darren Sproles, Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Jimmy Graham, etc... I do not see Adrian Peterson, MJD, Jamaal Charles, Chris Johnson, etc... (Congrats to McCoy owners you picked the ONE elite RB that could possibly win a league this year) |
The guru leads both his money leagues in points scored (and they are deep, OP leagues with 3 WR spots, 2 RB spots and a RB/WR spot) without a single RB worth mentioning.
The RB's on my 12 team league in the first league are Roy Helu, Marion Barber, Khalil Bell, Donald Brown, Kendall Hunter and Evan Royster. The RB's on my 12 team league in the second league are Felix Jones, Beanie Wells, Khalil Bell, Toby Gerhart, and DeMarco Murray. It's a BIT different in standard leagues but the guru sticks by his guns and SWEARS Adrian Peterson does not win FFL leagues, the best he does is he won't necessarily lose them, but the last two years Adrian Peterson owners have not won fantasy football leagues. Either have CJ owners. Either have MJD owners. Jamaal Charles owners were ****ed from the get go. STOP DRAFTING RB'S PEOPLE! You want Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson...you want the DEFINITES... I mean...Khalil Bell this week is projected to be a top 10 fantasy RB... Who? Draft a stud QB, get a few stud WR's, land that stud TE...and then get sleeper RB's and if they don't work out pick up the Helu's, Murray's, Gerhart's, Bell's, etc... along the way. The guru pleads with anyone who wants to be a fantasy winner to STOP TAKING ADRIAN PETERSON IN THE 1ST ROUND. Now the guru messed up and had Vick as his #1 fantasy player this year... but the Guru is still #1 in his league and #1 in points because, although he had Vick, he also had Stafford...and Gronkowski...and he made some guru like pickups along the way (hello DeMarco Murray! and my Felix Jones insurance!) |
and in case you doubt the Guru or don't believe his leagues are competitive, here are the links to the guru's championship FFL leagues:
http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/clubhou...96578&teamId=1 http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/clubhou...&seasonId=2011 |
but the guru will remind you...
Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker, Calvin Johnson, LeSean McCoy... those guys won FFL leagues this year...and only 1 is a RB (MJD is good too but whatever, blah) the key is getting a QB who passes for a shit ton of TD's...and if you can't get that QB get all of his receivers... Dez and Laurent score TD's...fantasy is all about TD's... Welker? Gronkowski? Brady's boys. Jennings, Nelson? Rodgers guys... Graham? Moore? Colston (blah)? Sproles? the key to winning FFL now is a stud QB (Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Romo, Stafford) and then drafting the 10 guys that are associated with those QB's...and spot playing good defensive matchups (Seattle the last few weeks)... and you'll win every year... and then just piece together RB's like Helu, Murray, Bell, etc...since half of the RB's get hurt every year...there is always a fantasy stud lurking that we've never heard of before the season starts. |
I can't decide if I want to be the guru or if I've graduated myself to the juggernaut...I'll get back to you.
|
I have a rag tag team and it is a success for me just to reach the final game. Going against Brees so I am going to need some luck.
My bench includes Josh Freeman, Brandon Marshall, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Victor Cruz, so I have the option of plugging any of them in. I had to beat Brees last round to make the finals but here's my line-up. My RB line-up is completely up in the air because of all the Questionable tags I've got right now. Also considering another receiver over Nicks since he's facing Revis. Hard to make that swap though.

My team is on the one on the left. Been an up and down year, but my receivers of Roddy White and Miles Austin are finally back both healthy and producing. I've had the top points in my league the last three weeks now.
Championship game.. thank god we don't play into Week 17, since Rodgers will almost certainly not play that week. 14-teamer. |

Well, it's lookin' like I'm screwed, blued & tatooed with Jones & Jackson now questionable & no one on the bench. I was able to pick up S. Morris & P. Crayton. Lynch would be playable if it was anybody but the 49ers', who haven't let a RB rush a score yet this year. **** |

Comes down to tonight.
I've got Brees and Graham while my opponent has Roddy W, Tony G and Sproles. I'm currently up my 2 points. The only downside is that I'll have to buy the drinks tonight if I win. |
Just won 2 out of my three money leagues.
Roster Team 1 Stafford MJD Various, but DeAngelo and his 2 TDs this week Calvin Johnson Gronkowski Jordy Nelson Crosby Receivers carried me this season, they were awesome Roster Team 2 Cam Newton Arian Foster Combo of Bradshaw/McGahee/Benson Roddy White Antonio Brown Jermichael Finley/Burleson/Demaryius Thomas Akers Cam and Arian were studs, as was Roddy in the playoffs I won this one on Roddy's last catch tonight right before the 2 minute warning. I needed six more yards, he got eight. He never got back on the field after this catch, so I was lucky as hell. |
Won my 12 man league. Many thanks to Bress and McCoy throughout the season.
$1070/trophy/get to name the last place team next season. |
I won my 10 man Yahoo league! Not bad for my first year of fantasy football. Brees, Rice, and Gronkowski carried me to a record of 13-3, and #1 in total points.
|
Shady's been money all year, this last Sunday was his first off weekend. Several managers questioned me taking him with the #1 pick but he ended up being the highest scoring RB this year.
F. Jones shit the bed too. So, no 1st place this year. Still got $400 for 2nd. It's prolly good I didn't win again anyways. :harumph: |

Just saw it was rodgers. Guess that makes sense. Sorry for my bad bell instead of Bradshaw advice although I think they scored comparable points and I still think Bradshaw woulda been a bad play...just got those 2 scores. Bell Shoulda had 2!
