AP not gonna be ready for the start of next year
TomPelisseroTom Pelissero
If MRI confirms #Vikings fears, it's at least the ACL and MCL for Adrian Peterson and he's probably not ready to start the 2012 season. |
Good for him the Vikings suck this year.
Was it the same knee he screwed up in college?
If you've seen the replay, I don't think you'd find this news surprising.
No shit
It'd be cool if the Vikings fell in love with Trent Richardson.
Sportcenter said the ACL was confirmed, MCL is still speculation at this point. Bad break for the Vikes.

ACL tear is confirmed on AP. Good news (for now) is only other tear is mcl, which shouldn't require surgery. Only surg will be to ACL, prob |
That hit made me cringe. Cringe badly.

If the Vikes are not confident in AP's abilities for next year who would be up for trading Jamaal Charles to Minnesota +this years first and next years first for the Viking's pick this year to either get Luck or Barkley?
It would be great if Indy could win and give the Vikes the #1 overall and if they would go for it, it would be short of giving them a Ricky Williams-type trade deal ruining our draft future and we get our QBOTF. A solid RB is easier to find than a once in a generation QB like Luck or even Barkley if we had to go #2 overall. |

BTW. Barkley isnt in this draft and Luck will be gone before the Vikings pick. |

MRI confirms ACL tear for Peterson
Posted by Mike Florio on December 24, 2011, 11:26 PM EST Minnesota Vikings v Washington Redskins Getty Images As expected, an MRI had confirmed that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s win over the Redskins. The Vikings announced the results of the MRI tonight. While the Vikings’ statement addressed no other damage in the knee, Tom Pelissero of 1500espn.com reports that Peterson also has a torn MCL. Though the degree of the MCL sprain isn’t identified, Pelissero writes that the MCL will heal without surgery. There was no damage to the PCL and, presumably, the LCL. So the news could have been worse for the Vikings. After the injury and the initial evaluation, the Vikings believed the ACL was torn and feared more extensive damage elsewhere in the knee. Peterson’s timetable for a return isn’t known. His availability for 2012 will depend on various factors. Fortunately for Peterson, the Vikings were willing to sign him to a long-term deal before the expiration of his rookie contract, which shifted the injury risk from the player and to the team. |
