So lets get this right ,

If Succop had made the field goal at the end of the Raiders game we would have won the division instead of being last place ? Is this correct or not ?

petegz28 01-03-2012 08:43 PM

Correc, you are

Phobia 01-03-2012 08:45 PM

You are not correct. We would have been tied 16-16.

- If Palmer didnt burn our safties in OT.
- If Janikowski didnt make his FG.
- If Haley wouldnt have played Palko.
- If Cassel was worth a goddamn.
- If we didnt have a three headed shit-tard at RB.
- If Berry didn't tear an acl.
- If JC didn't tear an acl.
- If Moeaki didn't tear an acl.

I'm sure there are more reasons.

But yeah, Succop kicking the ball into an unblocked Raider lost us the division.

I'm just amazed at the actual difference between winning the division and making the playoffs vrs last place. One failed Field Goal.

Okie_Apparition 01-03-2012 08:53 PM

If Scott had traded Bowe and the 2012 1st to St Louis
RGIII would have been a Chief

Fair point.

I wasn't sure if you were blaming Succop for losing the game, as some on here were.

I am not sure his kick had a chance on either FG from just the way it looked BUT, 2 blocks from 50 yards is not on the kicker.

I mean, thats pretty impossible to tell from TV.

Plus, its like 6 yards between the holder and the block.. unless it was an awful shank - thats hard to predict.

Bambi 01-03-2012 08:58 PM

Well San Diego lost the division on a fumbled snap.

Is that worse than two blocked FGs?

hmmmmm......

Bump 01-03-2012 08:59 PM

Succop missed that 44 yarder, who knows though, maybe they would have returned the kickoff after that. But after signing a big contract, watching him miss what should be a chip shot for that price is disappointing.

Well typically those are going to be lower trajectory kicks. But when the division is on the line and you are at home you can't let someone block a kick.

Yes. A fumbled snap AND they had the ball first in OT.

Not putting blame on anybody , except maybe Seymore, it's just that I wonder if this has ever been the case ever before in the history of the NFL. I still think God hates the Chiefs and loves the Broncos.

Well when the division is a collective shitball of suck it's not hard to have such a scenario.

True this, but I tell you what, the Chiefs have put together enough talent to make a SB run if we can be healthy next year and anybody but Cassel is QB.

To come away 7-9 with all the injuries and coach firings, etc., says a lot about this team. Most of us had the Chiefs at 7-9 to 8-8 with a fully healthy team. We never should have lost to Buffalo or Miami. Then again we never should have beaten GB or Chicago either.

Haley personaly and single-handedly butt ****ed us, imo. The Pittsburgh game was a crime. If you throw Stanzi in and still lose you have a much better excuse than keeping Palko in.

If Bowe woulda cought the TD..
Bunch of IFs in the AFC West this year =/

Hammock Parties 01-03-2012 09:21 PM

I'm sure the broncos beat us if Succop makes the FG in regulation.

tk13 01-03-2012 09:30 PM

It's often this way. You can point at single plays making the difference in division winners, playoff teams, all that stuff. Sometimes I think it just comes down to luck. Go back to the '05 Chiefs, there are several individual plays you can look at where, if the Chiefs make the play they get one more win, get to 11-5. That would've put them in the playoffs as the 6 seed and knocked Pittsburgh out. Pittsburgh went on to win the title.

If you saw Audibles, it was obvious he did it on purpose to slight Pioli.
