Source: Broncos have specific packages for Quinn
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ges-for-quinn/
We’ve reported — and we stand by those reports despite denials from the man at the center of the action — that Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn has received roughly half the reps with the first-team offense in practice this week. It previously wasn’t known why Quinn received the extra reps. Now, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that the Broncos have installed specific packages for Quinn premised on second-and-long and third-and-long situations. Whether and to what extent Quinn actually plays remains unknown. But despite anything said by Quinn or reported elsewhere, the Broncos are getting Quinn ready for something. In two seasons with the Broncos, Quinn has not yet appeared in a regular-season game. He last played in 2009, when he started nine times for the Browns. Quinn will be a free agent in March. Thus, he could help himself tremendously if he plays — and if he plays well. |
If I remember correctly, Quinn loves packages...

ROFL if true

Who?

I was on record on this site saying the Broncos only chance was Brady Quinn. (Sadly)
|
if by 'packages' they mean 'traditional nfl sets that don't involve 1930's offenses,' I guess.

With the Donx problems at S I'm sure they realize the Steelers will look to pass and score early to take 2-Minute-Timmy out of the game... |
37-9 Steelers.

Tebow can pass accurately/Garcia Bronco

Does Brady Quinn have a relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ?

Perhaps all of the packages for Quinn involve plays with forward passes.
|
LOL. Quinn will throw 10 picks in one attempt. He is pathetic.
|
They tried to stir up some controvercy yesterday by reporting that Quinn got reps in yesterdays practice. The Denver Post shot down the story saying Quinn has gotten reps in every practice the entire season and Quinn even said he didn't get any more reps than he usually does.
Stupid story is stupid. They wouldn't bench a QB who took a 1-4 team to the playoffs. |

Broncos are prepared to yank Tebow, if he struggles against Steelers Posted by Mike Florio on January 7, 2012, 11:21 AM EST Oakland Raiders v Denver Broncos Getty Images On Friday, we reported that Broncos backup quarterback Brady Quinn has received roughly half the snaps with the first-team offense this week. Not surprisingly, Quinn has opted not to admit that he is getting more reps, in order to help preserve the element of surprise. It wasn’t clear why Quinn was getting more work. One source said that the Broncos have a package for Quinn to be used in second-and-long or third-and-long situations. Now, multiple sources tell PFT that coach John Fox is prepared to bench Tebow, if he struggles once again. As one source explained it, Broncos players don’t regard the development as a big deal. It’s no surprise that Tebow hasn’t been the same guy lately, with as many turnovers in the last two games (six) as he had in all of the prior 10 games combined. Indeed, it’s smart coaching by Fox to be ready to do whatever needs to be done to win. So if/when the Steelers put the clamps on Tebow, get ready for the first appearance from Quinn in a Broncos uniform in anything other than a preseason game. |

Wonder if they plan to have both in the backfield at the same time.
|
Oh no! They're getting Quinn ready just in case the #1 ranked defense pounds the snot out of Tebow early...
I know why there's so much being made of it, but why wouldn't they get Quinn ready and what's wrong with giving the Steelers something else to think about? |

Inserting a different QB for long-down situations is not going to work. Quarterbacks need to get into a rhythm. They don't perform well getting 4 or 5 snaps a game. It just doesn't work.

They wouldn't even be in the playoffs if it weren't for tebow
