Brady Quinn/Len Dawson
I was doing some research on the free agent QBs this year and the more I read up on Quinn, its basically almost a carbon copy of Len. Now don't jump my ass for saying it would happen but its almost kind of creepy just look at some of this:
Both were born in Ohio. (Alliance/Columbus) Both played college football in Indiana. (Purdue/Notre Dame) Both were first round draft picks (Pittsburgh/Cleveland) Dawson was drafted in 1957, Quinn in 2007 Both played 3 seasons with their original team (Pittsburgh/Cleveland) Dawson from 1957 to 1959. Quinn from 2007 to 2009. Both were then traded to their second team. (Cleveland/Denver) Both played 2 seasons with their second team (Cleveland/Denver) Dawson from 1960 to 1961. Quinn from 2010 to 2011. Both could be reunited with a former coach in Kansas City (Stram/Crennel) ****Disclamier**** I am not saying if we sign Brady Quinn he will turn out to be Len Dawson. Its just some neat facts for discussion only :thumb: Also for you enjoyment: http://www.celebs101.com/gallery/Ali...ne_Picture.jpg |
^^^ I do not enjoy her ^^^^

I'd sign Quinn....but I'm a huge Irish homer.
The kid is ****ing talented and he's pretty much gotten the raw deal wherever he went. |
Did a Pittsburgh DL punch Dawson?

Got to be honest. I think Brady is under kicking his coverage bigtime.

Well, he's the 1st round QB everyone has been waiting for....

Sure, bring him in for camp, if he can hit 60% of his passes or better throughout... we keep him on the roster to compete.
Otherwise, he's gotta go... and i have SERIOUS doubts about his accuracy, every time i've watched him, his accuracy is absolute dogshit... no hyperbole. |
I'd sign Quinn as a back-up. There was talent there at one point; he was a consensus first round QB. Take a flyer on the kid, it might work out for you.

Finkle = Einhorn!!! Einhorn = Finkle!!!

Never noticd that. Pretty hilarious.
We already have the perfect backup, it's just that he is the starter for the time being. |

A person I am close with works at Notre Dame and always has had great things to say about Brady Quinn off the field and on the field. He says he was always well respected by his teammates, took his success in stride, put the team before himself and was always an active member in the community.
Jimmy Clausen did not get the same type of praise as he said a lot of things were "swept under the rug" by ND regarding Clausen. Posted via Mobile Device |
It's staggering how much more accurate the guy was in college than in the pros.
I was "forced" to watch most of his games (one of my best friends comes over Sundays to watch football and is a 4th gen Browns fan) and without exaggerating, the guy was as bad as Tebow without the magic. He makes Matt Cassel look like Troy Aikman. Heres the thing with him though... He had a couple really good games that he looked like a good NFL quarterback. Then, the next week he would turn back into Cassel/Tebow bad... I don't think I've seen a set of quarterbacks that had as many sub 100 games as Cassel and Quinn. |
Honestly, Quinn is probably due for one last shot somewhere ( Romeo traded up and paid three times the chart value to do so to select Quinn) but I'd rather deal a late rounder for Clausen than to outright sign Quinn.

I think Quinn would be a nice signing if we don't resign Orton. Gives Cassel legit competition along with Stanzi and who knows with the talent we have might just turn his career around or if not its not like we are out of anything unlike Casshole.

I dont, a quarterback is either accurate or he isnt... you can hit a shitty receiver in stride just as well as a good one. Denver tried him out & decided Tebow gave them a better chance. |

I think the only thing this column proves is that Brady Quinn is 50 years younger than Len Dawson.

This Brady Quinn idea would have been great back when we still had Charlie Weis running the offense. Now I'd be all for it simply so we don't have to watch Matt Cassel try as hard as he can to throw a ball farther than 20 yards. |

Numerous times I saw the guy have a clean pocket, flush HIMSELF from it and throw on the run into the dirt when there was a play to be made. Or he would stare down one guy for what's basically whole games and take unneeded sacks. Very frustrating player. I don't know if he has that "fire" a guy needs to have to fight his way back into a real opportunity. To me, I think Clausen still has a chance to be a quality starter in this league, more so than Quinn. If Clausen was available for something like a 5th rounder or even a 4th (personally, I'd go as high as a third) would be a move I would think would be worthwhile. Not sure if I'd even sign Quinn. |
No to Quinn.

Quinn looked pretty good in 3 preseason games, and absolutely horrible in 1. I don't really see why Denver wouldn't re-sign him as a backup, personally. |
No, Denver already has their backup.
Problem is, like the Chiefs problem, he is parading as the starter. |
This thread is so moronic, it is beyond words. Considering the dumbshit who started this thread, it is typical.
Hey Tyler Palko and Joe Montana were both born in Pennsylvania... using your dumbshit logic that would be a basis for annointing Palko the Chiefs QBOTF. |

He didn't state any logic. Just simple similarities. It's the offseason. It's okay to dream, because in 8 months we'll be throwing things at the tv set as cassell scans the field for 15 seconds and throws a duck to a running back for a 2 yard gain on 3rd and 9. Lighten up. |
It's an interesting comparison. I'm all for giving anyone a shot. I don't think Quinn was ever given a lot of time to prove himself. He can't be any worse than captain check down.

They both won't have a WR named Taylor on this team.

You missed another similarity, and this one seals it.
Lenny ends with "y", Dawson ends with "n'. Brady ends with "y", Quinn ends with "n". Eerie. It's fate. |

For ****'s sake, people. Brady Quinn had a RB go for 350 yards in Arrowhead and he attempted 17 passes for 66 yards on the day with 2 picks.
He's garbage and has a shitty ****ing work ethic. He wants to be a brodouche, work on his guns and slay pussy, not throw touchdowns. |

Leonard attempted a total of 45 passes in his first five years in the league before joining the Texans/Chiefs.
We'd be mother****ing the hell out of Pioli for the same type of "pointless" acquisition. |
Now we got drew brees AND Len Dawson on the same team
|
Since we've already had Kris Wilson
can we call Eric Winston Nessie |
