#5 overall QB according to Scout and has drawn a ton of Chase Daniel comparisons.

I think he could be really good in our offense.

I am sure KK will figure out a way to put a negative spin on this on the radio today. Either that, or there will be a meltdown of some sort.

I'm sure there will be a meltdown, or bashing of this by KK this afternoon. Good for MU - get out of the Big 12 and go compete.

let Kstate and the other Big 12 schools be under the thumb of UT, until UT leaves them out to dry in 3-5 years.

He went from "program changing superstar" to "Yankee Scum" and "Easily replaceable". I've even heard some real harsh threats on some boards.

Most of it however is, "I feel sorry for DGB, Petrino could've actually developed his talent and brought him to a championship."or more simply "**** him and his family".

He's a much different kind of WR. Neal would've been very similar to Maclin.

DGB is essentially a healthy Danario Alexander with more strength, speed and leaping ability.

Whereas Maclin was a great downfield threat, a lot of the possession balls were thrown to William Franklin and Tommy Saunders.

DGB can be a guy that goes over the middle like Alexander, but can also flash some speed deep. I don't think he's quite as quick or fast in phonebooth like Maclin, but I think we can make even better use of him.

DGB, Lucas, Moe, and Washington are going to do work next year. Throw in Culkin and Waters and we should be able to sling it around a bit.

It's a little bit uncanny, actually:

Washington -- Poor man's Maclin
DGB -- Bill Gates' Alexander
Lucas -- Lighter, faster version of Rucker; could absolutely run those routes
Moe -- Much better version of Saunders
Cuklin -- Coffman's clone

We really have done a nice job of duplicating the skill position players of 2007.

And that's not even getting into most of the WR class of 2010. The only loss from that in 2013 is going to be Moe.

Look at the 2013 crop of skill position players:

DGB - Soph
Lucas - SR
Washington - RS Sr.
Culkin -- Probably a soph; gotta imagine he'll see some time next year; Waters isn't the guy
Hunt (the 'star' of the vaunted 2010 class) -- RS Jr
Sasser (always a spring darling) -- RS Jr

And you'll have either James Franklin as a SR, with a crop of experienced lineman around him (not gonna be a lot of SR linemen this year). And with any luck, you'll have Henry Josey coming off his medical redshirt at least close to where he was. Not to mention the return of Marcus Murphy and development of Steward. If Josey's back, he's better than Temple was that year.

The defenses in the SEC are obviously pretty nasty - but the talent on that offense should play anywhere, shouldn't it?

Here is it dating back to 2002.

2002 - Vince Young - Won NC at Texas and was an early first round pick.

2003 - Ernie Sims - All-American and #9 pick in NFL draft.

2004 - Adrian Peterson - All-American and early first round pick.

2005 - Derrick Williams - All Big 10 player and third round draft pick

2006 - Percy Harvin - All-American and first round pick.

2007 - Jimmy Clausen - 2nd round NFL draft pick

2008 - Terrelle Pryor - 3rd round pick in supplementary draft

2009 - Bryce Brown - We all know what happened with Bryce.

2010 - Ronald Powell - Hasn't done a whole lot his first two seasons

2011 - Jadeveon Clowney - SEC Freshman of the Year

Jerm 02-01-2012 12:45 PM

LOL the scumbags over at Hogville are so butthurt...it's hilarious.

They still believe Dorial called the Arkansas coaches and then lied to them, that he doesn't really want to come here and only is because of his mom and girlfriend, that his dad is mad about it, and that he won't do anything at Mizzou. One dipshit even said he wasn't their best WR recruit nor the best one in the country...it's hilarious.

What a bunch of morons.

Oh well...great to have Dorial at Mizzou and can't wait to see him and Franklin for a formidable tandem.

There wasn't a decent word said about the kid at UT since signing day 2010. He couldn't find the field when they were begging track stars to come back to play WR.

Whomever the lady was (I caught the call midway through)...she ripped KK a new one for not being positive about DGB.

I did notice that KK mentioned several times that MU's class was the 11th best in the SEC and 30 something overall....which is what the class was BEFORE DGB announced. ESPNU upgraded Mizzou's class to 21 overall and 7th best in the SEC as soon as DGB signed. Gotta love KK cherry picking the numbers to suit him....He tried to make the case that MU's class was not any better than KU's, even thou Mizzou's has two of the top 50 players in it.

He was citing Rivals which has MU ranked 11th out of 14 in the SEC behind Mississippi St. and Vanderbilt. Primarily because it only includes 18 players when the average SEC class is 26-29 players who are then "run off".

This includes DGB's signing.

Kind of like a few weeks back, when he was making fun of a Mizzou ticket promotion (3 tickets for $10) and insinuating it was for Men's basketball.

It was a promo for WOMEN's Basketball.

I'm no fan of KK but his track record on recruits is pretty tepid.

I don't remember him going nuts when KSU got Bryce Brown or Michael Beasley. Or when KU got Xavier or Selby.

Agreed but the point I was trying to make was that he just wants to kill Mizzou so bad that he'll say asinine things to try and justify his hate.

Jerm 02-01-2012 04:15 PM

Oh and if Mizzou had lost out on DGB, he'd be bashing them up and down for letting him get out of state, not being able to keep him "home", how the SEC is a failure, blah blah blah.

I'm not sure he'd be "bashing MU for letting him leave"... but he'd definitely be going with the angle of "those level of recruits don't go to MU, that's what makes the SEC different"...something along those lines

Saul Good 02-01-2012 04:25 PM

I thought it was hilarious that he led off with the KSU/ISU basketball game. Two unranked teams playing each other the night before was the lead topic on his show. Meanwhile, a local team landing the #1 recruit in the country wasn't mentioned until the second segment.

A KSU fan is bound to pop in and call him BITB. He may be best in the business, but he's worst in the ratings.

I wnet from listening daily to only listening when he's just been. Kicked in the nuts. Today was one of those days.
