Chiefs do coin flip for 11th or 12th pick on Friday Morning
Friday morning's a significant time for four teams. The NFL will hold a coin flip to break ties at two draft positions Friday at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, where the league office is headquartered at the combine. Carolina and Miami went 6-10 last year, with a strength-of-schedule winning percentage of opponents at .504 (foes of each went 129-127). So they'll flip to see who picks eighth; the loser, obviously, chooses ninth in the first round. Same deal for the 11th and 12th picks -- the Chiefs and Seahawks went 7-9 last year, and their foes went 131-125. So they'll flip too. It's not a franchise-altering deal, certainly, but it is important. The difference in one spot on the draft trade value chart -- the chart most teams use to divine value when making draft-day trades -- between picks that high is 50 points. That's roughly the equivalent of a mid- to low-fourth-round pick on the chart. And with this draft expected to have lots of very close valuations between post-Luck and -RGIII players at the top, the winner of each flip could lead to a valuable chip when the first round goes off April 26. Example: Let's say Kansas City and Seattle both want Iowa tackle Riley Reiff at No. 11. Seattle wins the flip. And let's say there are other suitors for Reiff. Seattle could move down one spot, with the Chiefs, for a third- or fourth-round pick, or seven spots, with tackle-needy San Diego, for something significantly better. Just something to keep your eye on in the two months before the draft.

We are the Chiefs.
We will win the coin flip...and select the 12th pick. |
Don't think it matters much...Seattle is going Defense and we are going Guard.
|
we'll lose and somehow get 19th.
|
Seattle will get both the 11th and 12th pick.
|
Either way, Pioli is gonna draft a RT. :banghead:
|
Clark will snatch the coin out of mid air and take off with it.

The CHiefs choose Jerome Bettis to represent them
The Seahawks chose Hasselbeck |
if we lose the coin flip it'll be ok,
last time the Chiefs picked 12th we got a HOF Tight End. |
I bet the coin will break apart in mid-air.
|
Chiefs will win 11th pick, then use all their time up before they turn in their card with Trent Richardson on it. Seattle picks 11th, selects Richardson, so the Chiefs settle for some random Guard from California Tech.

The coin will flip wide right.

I really think heads is the way to go.
Oh the drama. Watching the clock until Friday. :p |
Who gets to call it?
|
The Chiefs will end up with a one week ban and forfeit the coin toss.

If we get to call it, we should call tails.

We're the Chiefs. The coin will be tossed and Tiki Barber will rush for 290yards.
|
Seattle will get pick 6 if Cassel flips it, amirite?!?
|
Clark asked if we could flip a nickel instead.
|
I bet we get the 12th pick, and then for some reason everyone forgets about Andrew Luck and he slides down until he gets taken on the 11th pick.

I've simulated the coin flip 10,000 times with my computer and it is coming out pretty close to 50-50.

Clark won't allow the flip of a quarter. It has to be a penny that someone found in the parking lot.
|
who knows .. we'll shoot ourselves in the foot anyway ......
