I finally have to admit it... Missouri is #1
http://www.emissourian.com/news/stat...9bb2963f4.html
The latest DEA data shows that the great state of Missouri has topped itself yet again in the race for the largest toothless population. The rankings are based on meth lab seizures for the year. Missouri had 2,096 meth labs busted in 2011 or an average of 5.74 per day! In Jefferson County MO alone (near StL) there were more busts than in Texas, Florida and California COMBINED! As Argent once said.... Hold your head up... hold your head high. :thumb: Figured this could be fun, especially leading up to the game Saturday heh. |

I guess I could post about states that actually have major population centers and professional sports teams, and that would have nothing to do with Kansas. |

Kansas - Walter "Freight train" Johnson, Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, Maurice Green,
John Riggins, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, etc... Missouri - Meth Labs, Jack Smack, FijiTiger, etc :) |

I don't like Quincy very well, I'm still here because my daughter is here for another 2.5 years.... not that I'm counting heh. FWIW, my adopted home state of Illinois is top 10 in meth production. I left that out since it didn't fit my agenda though. :D |

Hi-Larious! |
Missouri has more meth lab arrests/seizures for a few reasons:
1) It was one of the first states to dedicate time and resources to that end (and still pumps more money into the program than most states) 2) Missouri has the combination of a major interstate highway and vast rural expanses, and no tolls throughout the state. This makes it easier to move product after creation. It has been speculated that one of the benefits of a toll road would be countering this... I'll point out that in per capita usage, Kansas actually ranks higher (or lower, depending on how you look at it, I guess) than Missouri does. So do Nebraska, Iowa and Arkansas. As with almost everything else... Missouri produces the stuff... and Kansas sucks at the teat (see: Major city, Population, Pro Sports, Arts and Entertainment, Business, etc.) |

And Kansas still remains utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. It is the state that people dread driving through as they head either east or west on I-70.

But yeah, that road sucks. Another of the drawbacks of having an actual population. Shit that gets used more often tends to wear out more quickly that shit that doesn't. |

When I travel back from Arizona to Iowa I drive when it is possible and take non-interstate roads when practical. Kansas and Missouri both have some beautiful country and I enjoy that part of the trip.
After a few years of living in nothing but various shades of brown it is so nice to be in the green. |
