While I agree that it would be ironic I don't see it happening. The only way this trade is made with the Chiefs is if we are moving up for a QB. It is the only position that makes sense this high in the draft. (Of course we have Pioli as a GM) :deevee:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Rams have already had preliminary talks with "multiple teams" about trading up to No. 2 overall.

The Rams are willing to deal the pick for "the right package," of course. Vikings GM Rick Spielman is practically begging teams to trade up to the No. 3 spot, but he has no leverage with the Rams already holding an RGIII auction for the Browns, Redskins, Dolphins, and Seahawks. Interesting but I do not know, I just can not see the Rams passing on Justin and if they do, everybody would be calling them stupid or a genius depending on what they get from the trade but I am afraid that if the Rams trade down, it might hurt the Vikings chances of trading down but then again, Blackmon, Kalil, and Claiborne are 3 great options to choose at the #3 pick but I would like to see the Vikings draft Kalil or Claiborne over Blackmon but that is just me though

I'll tell you why the Rams need Pioli. Put simply the Rams fans are the messiest fans in the United States of America. They walk around throwing gum wrappers, beer cans, and even peanut shells on the floor. They need a man to clean that mess up.

That is why they need Pioli.

For that we better get Luck.

I mean, there has to be a line drawn on how much is too much and my line would be 2 firsts and a second....I may add a third if thats what it takes to get it done and finalized, but that would be it.

You make a trade like that, you are ****ing yourself into building your team strictly through free agency and once the players and agents know that, you will pay far out the ass for average talent.

You will get a team full of garbage players and a few average ones that are paid like they are elite.

D-Bowe and the 11/12th pick this year's third round and next years 2nd round pick.

Youre still stuck on the dumb idea that the rams would use their minimal cap space and trade for bowe vs trading down to 4 and getting blackmon plus better picks at half the cost. Nice little argument... In candyland.

Therein lies the caveat.....

Well, the Hawkeyes have had several CBs in the NFL over the past few years. Some of them are starters (ie. Spievey in Detroit) and some were journeymen (ie. Benny Sapp). ISU had a pretty damn good one in Ellis Hobbs, too.

Johnson is potentially better than all of them.

Easily matched and beat by any of the teams calling about him.

Benny Sapp was a Panther. He went to Northern Iowa.

Rams will amass a lot of picks/possible WR trade from this #2.

There is at least 4 very hungry teams who want that pick, that is a lot

What's so interesting about this trade is it has to happen soon. My guess is, soon after the combine. The rams know that if the browns get Flynn for example the value of the pick drops. With orton, campbell, and peyton also on he market the value of the pick could slide ultra fast.

Would be nice for the chiefs though if teams stared falling out of contention.

I don't see any team going after the FA QB's UNTIL the Rams pick is settled. The Rams need as many teams salivating over that pick, so I agree the sooner the better for the Rams.

If they drag it out until two weeks before the draft, I can't see so many teams not having their QB situation resolved.

I really can't imagine someone grabbing Manning prior to the draft. He'd have to make a dramatic recovery.

I agree with that, but you never know. Going after the draft with no QB option is something that gets GMs fired. They're going to bring Peyton in for a physical and get some expert opinions on his ability to play.

Rams may be more inclined to move back.

Justin Blackmon announced he isn't going to run at the combine.

Although he's a tremendous receiver, there has always been concerns about his speed.

The Rams drafting offensive tackles seems to be kind of like the Chiefs drafting defensive linemen.

Are Jason Smith/Roger Saffold no longer options? Injuries have killed both of their careers?

I'm asking because I really don't know. I haven't heard how severe the damage was.

Saffold's good, but is probably better suited for RT.

Smith would be better at G this point, and he might be cut if he doesn't renegotiate his contract. He also has had two concussions in three seasons, too.
