The Donks will inquire about Peyton Manning

The Broncos are expected to place a phone call to Manning's agent, Tom Condon, to gauge their chances, according to an NFL source close to the situation. If Manning's contract can be structured so that the team would be protected in case Manning's troublesome neck becomes an issue, the Broncos could well be players.

They can inquire all they want. No way does Elway want that kind of drama, and no way Manning wants to be a part of it either.

Denver was listed...

With Manning comes Reggie Wayne. I would rather have Demaryius Thomas over Bowe because DT is a true deep threat with 4.3 speed. And I am certainl that Manning would rather have Decker than Baldwin because he has better hands and is a better route runner, unfortunately.

Setsuna 03-07-2012 02:47 PM

I'd be ok with this, even if Tebow stayed in Denver. Having him in Jax would be dumb since our GM is absolute garbage.

It's settled then. Denver has a better shot at Manning because of "Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker".

I've heard it all now I think.

Brock 03-07-2012 02:48 PM

Why would they do that, when they have one of the most promising, electric, young gunslingers in the league???????

lcarus 03-07-2012 02:49 PM

It'd be funny if Denver somehow did get Peyton. All of a sudden CP would be like "Good luck with that stopgap brokeneck piece of shit! You'll get 2 years TOPS out of him, if he's EVEN HEALTHY AT ALL!"

lcarus 03-07-2012 02:50 PM

TheGuardian 03-07-2012 02:51 PM

The donks can inquire all day. Manning won't sign there.

Beef Supreme 03-07-2012 03:05 PM

Both the Donks and Jets are calling to see if Peyton is Even INTERESTED.

Not to offer him a contract, but just to find out if he would even play for them.

Combine this with the report that Manning already has a SHORT list of teams he wants to play for.....

Makes you wonder if he hasn't already made up his mind, or at least his final 3.

AND THEN.....

add in the alleged tampering that the Chiefs may have been doing while Manning was under contract and the fact the Chiefs have yet felt the need to contact him....

From NFL Radio per the Orangemane.

Quote:

Just heard on NFL/Radio

"Broncos will do their due diligence and go after Peyton Manning if everything checks out its likely that they will heavily pursue him. John Elway and Peyton Manning have a close relationship and the Broncos roster is loaded with talent. Broncos are saying they are a legit landing spot and that they feel they are close to winning it all with a QB like Manning. He would have a great LT protecting him and a running game to go along with his passing skills. His defense would have 2 of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL, and a HOF CB in Champ Bailey. "

Buzz builds that Broncos will make a run at Manning

Mike Klis of the Denver Post has reported that the Broncos will explore the possibility of signing quarterback Peyton Manning.

There’s a buzz in league circles much stronger than that.

One league source told PFT in response to the Klis report that there’s a belief the Broncos quietly have positioned themselves to make a significant push to land Manning.

I dunno, dude. Denver almost took the division with no quarterback at all. What if they actually had someone at the position? I don't like it. Oh sure, Manning at KC scares me much more. With Jamaal & Moeaki etc back & Manning under center? Hurts unsettled, rebuilding Oakland & fading Sandy Eggo bad. But even Denver with a QB would have a leg up on the rest of the division.

Oh and for this bullshit from "Vic Lombardi", the guy looks more and more like a fraud.

Let's take a look at Rotoworld's analysis of his twitter comment.

Quote:

Per Lombardi, the Broncos will try to sell Manning on their "top-ranked run game" and "stable O-Line." That "top-ranked run game" was in large part thanks to Tim Tebow's 660 rushing yards, of course. Lombardi claims Tebow will be traded if Denver wins the Manning race. It's worth noting that at one point Lombardi tweeted Manning "is very interested in the Broncos as well," and that "This thing's mutual." An hour later, Lombardi couldn't put a percentage on the union because he "(doesn't) know what Peyton Manning's thinking." Draw your own conclusions.
