Mike Florio said that Marshall isn't the type of WR Peyton would like to play with.

Assuming Cutler can stay on his feet long enough to complete a pass.

listopencil 03-13-2012 01:57 PM

Wow, that caught me completely off guard. Cutler-to-Marshall has devastating potential for their opponents. I'm glad they're both in the NFC.

DJ's left nut 03-13-2012 01:59 PM

Wow.

Bears got a freakin' steal there. I know everyone loves to bag on Marshall because he's something of a headcase, but there aren't 5 WRs in the NFL more talented than he is. I'd take him over Bowe as a pass-catcher without blinking (though Bowe is a more responsible blocker).

That is absolutely robbery for the Bears.

Yeah, true. He's a head case but he has the talent to be a very, very good WR. A motivated Marshall can just wreak havoc. He can turn those little dump offs into huge gains as well as going deep for the long pass. And Cutler has the quick release and arm strength to take advantage of that. If they can avoid going into Faptastic Douchebag Mode together, this will really help the Bears out.

mr. tegu 03-13-2012 02:03 PM

Wow. Chicago got much better and Miami must really believe they are getting Waynning

Take a look at where they're drafting - they're likely going to have a shot at Martin, Rief or Adams in the 1st; as well as some other nice prospects in the 2nd and 3rd.

The Bears could present a real challenge in the NFC North next year. With the Pack, Lions and Bears all looking strong, I am damn glad we ran that gauntlet last season, not next season.

MMXcalibur 03-13-2012 02:03 PM

Holy shit, right out of the gate.

For only two 3rd round picks? Jesus....this trade is all Bears.

-King- 03-13-2012 02:04 PM

If they don't get Manning, this looks horrible on them.

When unmotivated he's able to wreak havoc.

The guy is just a hair short of Calvin Johnson in the raw talent department and the Bears got him for 2 third rounders.

Lord what a rip.

Oh, and I would like to again thank the Broncos for trading that guy.

the Talking Can 03-13-2012 02:05 PM

did not see that coming

couple of 3rds for a headcase #1 with 5 straight 1,200 yard seasons

nice grab

Thig Lyfe 03-13-2012 02:06 PM

LOLy shit

Ouch.

Dude's been on the job as a GM for like 13 days now and I'm pretty sure I'm already willing to say he's a better GM than Pioli.

It's like having Steve Young on your bench and playing Steve Beuerlein.

Well, to be honest, I was glad to see him go. Such a douche. Shanny babied the Offensive players so he has to take some blame for that. I think if he was drafted into an environment where acting like a grown man was a requirement for playing time he would have had a better career and might still be a Bronco. Water under the bridge now, though.

Fritz88 03-13-2012 02:10 PM

ESPN is saying Mario Williams could be signing with Chicago within an hour.

Don't worry - Pioli's been waiting 3 !@#$ing years to play his trump card.

He'll show us all!!!!

He's not incompetent, he's just the best poker player we know. Slow play this, bitches.

Well, I'm glad the Bears are improving. As my red-headed NFC step team, if the Chiefs stick with Cassel I'll be watching them next year.

scorpio 03-13-2012 02:20 PM

I'm guessing it's more likely they're going to go with a young guy at QB (Flynn, Tannehil) and don't want a cancer like BMarsh around to screw him up.

The Franchise 03-13-2012 02:21 PM

The Bears with Brandon Marshall and Mario Williams would be ****ing scary.

I guarantee you that Marshall plays nice now that he's back with a competent QB throwing him the ball.

so the bears can acquire

Cutler
Peppers
Marshall
Williams

and we're 30+ mill under the cap and can't even sign our own players or get rid of Cassel...

Bears' ownership is willing to spend in FA..... the Peppers/Chester Taylor/other guy I'm leaving out acquisition is exhibit A.

The Franchise 03-13-2012 02:31 PM

You never pay that much for a WR. They just ****ed their franchise. /TheGuardian

Hammock Parties 03-13-2012 02:32 PM

This is why we're not getting Manning.

We have no room for Wayne.

Of course, if I have a shot to get Manning I tell Steve Breaston to take a hike.

But Pioli would never do that. He's not gonna allow a QB to play co-GM.

dirk digler 03-13-2012 02:58 PM

Looks like we kept the wrong guy AGAIN.

Clark should have shipped Pioli to Chicago
