How about a new center? Scott Wells?

Green Bay's going to (shockingly) let him walk. Dumb move on their part. They totally could have afforded him a new contract.

I know people here have this dream of Hudson playing center, but let's face it. He has barely any experience at it; almost nothing in college. He also looked effing GREAT at guard for a rookie, and figures to continue what he started last year.

Letting him be our starting guard/backup center would be very smart for depth reasons. Wells is a pretty polished guy just entering the prime of his career. Sign him, move Hudson to Lilja's spot, let Lilja hang out as depth, and we've got the makings of a pretty ****ing rock-solid offensive line from LT through RG.

Add Winston?

Albert, Hudson, Wells, Asamoah, Winston?

Strongside 03-13-2012 06:42 PM

We're bringing all the other free agents in the world in for a visit...**** it...lets do it.

That's the best offensive line in the goddamn NFL right there.

At least it will shut up the true fans for a good 3 or 4 seasons.

KCrockaholic 03-13-2012 06:43 PM

I like Wells and Meyers a lot. Would be happy with either.

MahiMike 03-13-2012 06:44 PM

DeCastro is gonna be a HOFer.

BigChiefFan 03-13-2012 06:45 PM

Wigs was a FA, both times we brought him in. Might as well find his replacement in FA, as well.

prhom 03-13-2012 06:45 PM

But who are we going to draft in the first if we take care of all our o line needs in free agency?

bevischief 03-13-2012 06:46 PM

To the ship!

BossChief 03-13-2012 06:46 PM

If we sign Wells and Winston, Peyton would be calling us.

Too bad it's a pipe dream.

Hoover 03-13-2012 06:47 PM

I'd rather trade down and grab DeCastro and sign Winston.

O.city 03-13-2012 06:49 PM

I don't like it but if we could sign Winston sit tight and grab Decastro. If he is the guy you want, take him. I know he is a guard, but other spots we need aren't gonna be around.

That sounds like a good ****ing problem to have to me.

I say we take 7 quarterbacks. We may have to dip into D2 to do it, but I'm ok with that at this point.

Are they all first round draft picks? That's the important part.

No. We'll have to draft DeCastro to replace Asamoah.

Shit, I knew it was too good to be true.

Hoover 03-13-2012 06:57 PM

Winston was a 3rd rounder.

MeatRock 03-13-2012 06:58 PM

Cassel needs longer than 10 seconds to read a defense. Line fail.

On paper; people don't always gel.

BossChief 03-13-2012 07:03 PM

That line sure would postpone the shitting of the pants of Matt Cassel a couple seconds.

Charles could average 7 ypc...

Until we encountered a team with a tough defense, that is. Then Cassel would go back to pants-shitting.

Seriously, you expect Cassel to go through his progressions in under 4 seconds? My God man!

O.city 03-13-2012 07:06 PM

Put Orton behind that line, with Charles, Tolbert, and Lamar Miller behind him.

BossChief 03-13-2012 07:13 PM

**** Orton.

Put Stanzi behind that line with those weapons and This defense and I'll take my chances against the rest of the league.

For real

I would have liked to have seen some of Stanzi this last year.

That said, i wouldn't piss and moan about it.

I'm excited about training camp for one reason and one reason only: Tricky Dicky Stanzi.

If I detect the faintest WHIFF of franchise QB being sweated out of his pores come the preseason games, I will drive to Kansas City myself and TRASH the office complex with candy wrappers until Pioli not only agrees to start Stanzi, but to also cut Cassel so that his ass NEVER comes back as a Chief.

BossChief 03-13-2012 07:22 PM

With a full year in the system, a full offseason, training camp and preseason...if Stanzi is given a legit shot he would be our game 1 starter next year.

Too bad that would require a legit shot.

Pray for injuries.

God I long for a time in the future when I won't be forced to hope for players on my favorite ****ing team to get injured.

I don't think there is any way Stanzi gets a chance.

I would love to see him be the guy but like i said, i don't see him getting a chance.

It's why I want Orton. I don't want to have to watch Cassel ever again. I think the front office knows that people aren't exactly flocking to buy tickets with Cassel starting.
