7-9

Same shit, different year.

Scott Pioli, Romeo Crennel and Matt Cassel = franchise death.

I could see anywhere from 7 to 9 wins. But I reserve the right to change my prediction after the draft.

Pussy.

AustinChief 04-17-2012 07:24 PM

I think we'll go 10-6 (I reserve the right to edit this after the draft and if we have any major early injuries). I'm guessing our defense will continue to improve and win us a number of games. Combine that with a non-psycho coach and we should be ok.

I kinda agree. I voted 8-8 and I told my wife when she asked if Crennel was a good or a bad thing at HC this isn't going to end pretty.

Titty Meat 04-17-2012 07:29 PM

7-9

wazu 04-17-2012 07:30 PM

If everything goes as planned, 9 wins doesn't seem out of reach.

Rausch 04-17-2012 07:31 PM

I say 10-6.

suds79 04-17-2012 07:35 PM

Looks like 9-7 to me.

Atlanta - W (1-0)
at Buffalo - L (1-1) Drop one we shouldn't)
at New Orleans - L (1-2) Better team. Better QB)
San Diego - W (2-2)
Baltimore - L (2-3) Simply better team. Better QB)
at Tampa Bay - W (3-3) Tampa is horrible)
Oct. 21: open
Oakland - W (4-3) Going to sweep these guys)
at San Diego - L (4-4) They have the better QB at home)
at Pittsburgh - L (4-5) Better team. Better QB)
Cincinnati - W (5-5) This game could go either way. So if you don't like my Buffalo pick, keep this game in mind)
Denver - L (5-6) Manning is the difference)
Carolina - W (6-6)
at Cleveland - W (7-6)
at Oakland - W (8-6)
Indianapolis - W (9-6)
at Denver - L (9-7) Manning is the difference)

ThatRaceCardGuy 04-17-2012 07:38 PM

My homer heart says 12-4 :D

But my brain tells me this team is will be ...9-7 :banghead:

Hydrae 04-17-2012 07:40 PM

Going out on a limb with 11-5. Feeling optimistic tonight.

Atlanta- L
@Buffalo- W
@New Orleans- L
San Diego- W
Baltimore- L
@Tampa Bay- L
BYE
Oakland- W
@San Diego- L
@Pittsburgh- W
Cincinnati- W
Denver- W
Carolina- W
@Cleveland- W
@Oakland- L
Indianapolis- W
@Denver- L

Looks like 9-7 to me.

I put us down for 3-3 in the division. Wins at home, losses on the road. Until we prove that we're better than that, that will be about all we can muster.

@Buffalo is a revenge game. No way we let those pathetic bitches **** us over two years in a row. Also, Steve Johnson dies on that day.

After that, my "confident" wins are
Cincinnati (really overrated team, our defense will shut them down)
Carolina (can't stop the run. 200 yards for Jamaal?)
@Cleveland (could be a trap game, but we're absolutely the better and more talented team)
Indianapolis (**** the Colts)

The only game I'm really pretty sure that we'll lose is the Baltimore game.

That leaves Atlanta, @New Orleans, @Tampa, and @Pittsburgh. New Orleans is an electric offense that will probably catch us napping on the 2nd week of a roadtrip. Atlanta is better coached and is usually more prepared to start the regular season than we are. Tampa is my Chiefs brainfart game of the year that will have us all feeling like utter shit for the entire week, and @Pittsburgh is a game that we'll dig deep and find a way to get a much-needed W at that point in the season, entering it at 3-5. We have one of those every year.

I originally thought 7-9, but I think 6-10 will be in play as long as Cassel is under center and Club Romeo is in effect.

lewdog 04-17-2012 07:56 PM

Mediocre.....7-9 to 9-7, miss the playoffs....same shit.

And **** you beerme!

007 04-17-2012 07:58 PM

I'm not making anything official at this point but I think .500 will be a stretch.

Austin Ed 04-17-2012 08:06 PM

No better than 10-6. No worse than 7-9. Most likely 9-7.

Stanley Nickels 04-17-2012 08:07 PM

Wha? This is a good schedule. BAL, @Pit, and @SD are pretty sure losses. @Den is a likely loss. @ Oak and CAR are toss-ups. CIN, IND, and @CLE are probably wins. Count one of the two toss-ups and that puts us at 4-5. Out of ATL, @Buf, SD, @TB, OAK, DEN, @NO, I think we could win at best 5, at worst 2. That would put us between 9-7 and 6-10. I'd say 9-7 is more realistic, with a good season being 10-6.

Stanley Nickels 04-17-2012 08:08 PM

Clark is JIHP over this schedule; mediocrity keeps some ticket sales coming

DBOSHO 04-17-2012 08:14 PM

If Alex smith can win 13 games with a strong running game and defense, I dont see why Matt cassel cant. I think our defense with berry back can be every bit as good as theirs and jamaal Charles+hillis>>>gore and their #2.

I say 12-4. Come at me bro.

007 04-18-2012 12:02 AM

I keep looking at this schedule and see a string of losses followed by a string of wins but still below .500

Quesadilla Joe 04-18-2012 12:08 AM

There is a very real possibility we start the season 0-6. Tampa Bay and Buffalo are really the only winnable games we have and they improved much more than we have since last year. The end of our schedule is pretty easy though aside from the Manning games and the Pittsburgh and SD games.

Manning will probably be hurt by the time we play them though.

Quesadilla Joe 04-18-2012 12:26 AM

• Sept. 9: Atlanta, noon (Fox) - L - Julio Jones, Roddy White, TG, Matt Ryan, and Michael Turner is too much firepower for us to keep up with.

• Sept. 16: at Buffalo, noon (CBS) - L - This will be Buffalo's home opener and they will be jacked up for this game after the Mario Williams signing.

• Sept. 23: at New Orleans, noon (CBS) - L - The Saints speed will be too much for our bigger 3-4 defense to handle. We can't hang with the Saints in a dome.

• Sept. 30: San Diego, noon (CBS) - W - I know I said the only winnable games were Buffalo and Tampa but I overlooked the Chargers. They are notorious for starting the season slow.

• Oct. 7: Baltimore, noon (CBS) - L - They are one of the best teams in the AFC. Their defense will stop our running game and force Casshole to beat them. Which he won't.

• Oct. 14: at Tampa Bay, noon (CBS) - L - They had a down year last year but they are a better team than they showed last year.

• Oct. 21: open

• Oct. 28: Oakland, 3:05 p.m. (CBS) - W - Kinda wish our bye wasn't wasted on a divisional opponent, tough break there. Also, the Raiders are garbage anyways, total waste of a bye week.

• Nov. 1: at San Diego, 7:20 p.m. (NFL Network) - L - Dolt fans only show up to watch primetime games. SD is a tough place to play in night games

• Nov. 12: at Pittsburgh, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN) - L - At Pittsburgh on Monday night?

• Nov. 18: Cincinnati, noon (CBS) - W - Home against the Bungals who are not very good. I can see the Bengals picking in the top 5 next year.

• Nov. 25: Denver, noon (CBS) - L - Arrowhead will be raucous until the Donks score on their opening drive. Then the seeds of doubt creep in to all Chiefs fans when they remember that Manning is their master.

• Dec. 2: Carolina, noon (Fox) - W - This game kind of worries me because our career day defense might struggle against a QB like Cam. But we are a better team than Carolina.

• Dec. 9: at Cleveland, noon (CBS) - W - Cleveland could be picking at #1 next year. We could start Casey Weigman at QB and still win.

• Dec. 16: at Oakland, 3:05 p.m. (CBS) - L - Really don't like predicting sweeps of divisional opponents.

• Dec. 23: Indianapolis, noon (CBS) - W - The Colts cut everybody on their team who was any good not named Freeney, Mathis, and Wayne.

• Dec. 30: at Denver, 3:15 p.m. (CBS) - L - This game really depends on whether the Donks are resting their starters or not. But as a Chiefs fan I am not willing to say the Donks are SB contenders so out of pure hatred I will say they are playing for their playoff lives. We won't beat the Donks on the road, not with Manning there.

Final record - 6-10

rico 04-18-2012 12:37 AM

Couldn't decide between 9-7 and 8-8...went with 9-7.

xztop12 04-18-2012 01:06 AM

isnt that schedule pretty easy? im only going off starting QB's as the rest of the roster turnover is too much to tell now

DBOSHO 04-18-2012 04:39 AM

Does knowmo not realize that his team lucked into about 5 wins last season and every brokedick on that team is now a year older and crustier?

I like your optimism, and think the defense will improve, but we have a long way to go reach San Fran's level. They were #1 against the run only allowing about 77 yards a game. We were 26th and gave up over 130/game.

spanky 52 04-18-2012 05:42 AM

Every year the schedule comes out and I try to figure the wins and losses. Never close. This year I think 7-9 or 9-7.

Buffalo's a crap team, dude. Mario Williams does not necessarily a good defense make (Houston Texans, anyone?)

Also, Steve Johnson gonna get his dick ripped off. And I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Fitzpatrick goes all Jim Everett and develops posttraumatic stress disorder from that game. It's the Bills' home opener, sure, but we're gonna be ****ing pissed off, too. It's clear from team comments that we have NOT forgotten how Eric Berry got injured last year.

Buffalo is a lot like the Chiefs. Both teams have a very good secondary, the Chiefs have better LB's but the Bills have a better DL. Offensively the Chiefs have a better OL and a better group of WR's but both teams can run the ball and Fitzpatrick is better than Cassel.

This game is a tossup IMO. The only reason I give the edge to Buffalo is because of the home opener.

tredadda 04-18-2012 08:38 AM

We went 7-9 minus three of our best players for the year and our first round pick for the first half of the year. This is also with Palko starting 5 games for us playing one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. Now we have those guys back and no Palko playing an easier schedule. I see 10-6 in our future.

Chiefs Pantalones 04-18-2012 09:25 AM

I say 10-6. I'm a homer I can't help it, even though Cassel is still under center.

My thoughts exactly. People predicted us at around 7-9 last year with everyone healthy and playing. We did that without two of the best players at their position and one really good one and then even had to watch Palko at QB. There is no way we do the same or worse this year with an easier schedule.

10-6 which would be even better with a real QB (stating the obvious I know).
