Brockers is a "once in five years" prototype. (Maybe more.)

If they dont' take Brockers, there is going to be a hole...

Roethlisberger and Cutler were both the 3rd qb in their class and pick 11.

I loved the trade last year to get baldwin and houston so I would trust him to move down again and come out in good shape.

in about 18 or so hours this will all be over. Well the first round at least. imma have trouble sleeping tonight, i know it. Happens everytime.

Get the kid from Boston College.

I have a feeling it is going to be between one of these three defensive players... Kuechly, Barron and Brockers. I've stayed firm that it is likely going to be Kuechly but as of last night and this morning I'm thinking it is going to be Brockers.

I just have this feeling we are going to see the end of Glenn Dorsey in KC and Pioli already has his replacement hand picked. With that said, with the way passing sub packages go, I see Kuechly/Barron as well. Problem is, I think we are going to trade down. Kuechly likely gone and I think we will be trading down with Dallas who wants Barron... leaving us with Brockers.

I still don’t understand why people put any stock in what the media says.

I want DeCastro. With his attitude, he would make the guys around him better. He could be a hall of famer. The only hope for Cassel being effective is if he has the best O-Line in football. Charles and Hillis would destroy teams behind that line. (Assuming you re-sign Albert) You’d have your entire O-Line set for the next 4 or 5 years, and possibly the interior set for the next 10.

Here in NE WA, they reintroduced wolves and the deer population dropped considerably. Of course, so has some of the livestock and pets and you have to take a gun if you want to go hiking.

Back to the draft, too:

I'm hoping for Tannehill, Barron or Kirkpatrick but fully prepared to hate the actual pick.

I may get hazed for this, but how about trading down with the Cowboys and snagging their 2nd round pick in the process and still getting DeCastro at 14 and then pick up Cousins in the 2nd or 3rd?

They arent giving us a 2nd round pick to move up 3 spots.

We could probably get a third. If we could, I'd want to get Brockers at 14, Ta'amu in the second, and package our thirds to move back into the bottom of the second for Osweiler.

I'd like it with the exception of DeCastro.

We're not shopping for DeCastro. I give him a small chance of ending up a Chief.

Maybe... Depends how hot the competition is.

Teams will dramatically overpay if they have to.

Andrew Luck will be a Colt by 7:15pm, CT.

He damn well better be! 7:01 would be better, and RGIII a Skin by 7:02. Then we can return to normal pace.

I know, but that is just being selfish. They will talk about those two guys all night long anyway.

Probably got a little ahead of myself with trade value, but I just am not sold on Tannehill and would rather get a Cousins in a later round and get an instant starter with our first and maybe even pick up an extra pick.

I'm still undecided as to which broadcast to watch. I switched to NFLN a few years ago but couldn't hack them last year and switched back to ESPN. NFLN would be better if it were just Charles Davis and Mike Mayock but they had to have Michael Irvin and Deon Sanders involved. Berman gets old on ESPN but the rest of them aren't too bad. ESPN's biggest problem is they want to make too much of a show out of it and the actual coverage suffers. However, they are only supposed to have one commercial break tonight (during the Chiefs' pick, of course), which would be nice.

Hmmm....

This draft season is so much better than last year, though.

They'd have half-hour draft specials on ESPN and spend the first 20 minutes talking about Cam Newton.

Last year was probably the most exhausting draft season I'd been through just because ALL THE TALK was about Cam.

I think the media peaked on Luck a month ago. Now they just do their due dilligence with him and RG3 for a little bit, and move on.

I'm not crazy about Cousins, but I'd bet dollars to donuts he's a Chief by the end of the draft.

It's actually 10 minutes a pick in the 1st round, but that could still stretch to nearly 5 1/2 hours. And I will watch the whole thing, but I do have work in the morning.

Especially when it comes at a position of need, and looks to be a player that will give us immediate production, in a year that we are hoping to compete.

I’d love a QB as much as anyone, but we ain’t getting it, so might as well do everything we can to help Cassel. A strong O-Line and running game could return him to 2010 form, which was pretty much his ceiling.

Casserly just gave us Poe. :facepalm:

The Chiefs aren't abandoning Lilja this season.

It's much more likely they just start stacking the defense.

I still listen to the NFLN for the draft. I switch over to ESPN at times but I just can't stand listening to Berman. ESPN's problem is they have to many talking head star players doing the draft... same issue NFLN has when they throw Deion/Irvin out there. I'd much rather both sets were filled with ex-GM/personnel people/scouts or ex-coaches.

If you are the Skins do you run up to the podium 3 seconds after Luck is announced so that you cut into the Colts limelight?

We're going to trade back as much as possible I bet. And I don't mind that at all.

I'm really getting sick of Berman (and his ego) but NFLN and like you said with Irvin and Sanders is just unacceptable.

I think ESPN got me to their side this year with Polian. I love listening to him.

ESPN does have Brian Billick, who provides some insight into the process. They also have Matt Millen but I don't count him. NFLN has Casserly and Lombardi. Hmmm...

That means we WON'T draft him.

Casserly doesn't have a clue.

You can never go wrong with an experienced GM.
