With one it's something about who ate at the Domin and the other is a story about an Ant from a little fantasy city called Domin.

While you're correct, I think that is one of the dumbest grammar rules there is. IMO the only time the period should be inside the quotation marks is when a complete sentence is quoted.

Using "dominate", when the correct word is "dominant".

Using "elude", when the correct word is "allude".

Using "there", when the correct word is "thier".

And, yes Donger, I know that the commas and periods are supposed to be inside the quotes.

However that rule was put into place because of printing and displacement.

That was not the rule prior to printers, and the British still continue to place the punctuation outside the quote.

And just why, you may ask, do they belong there? Well, it seems to be the result of historical accident. When type was handset, a period or comma outside of quotation marks at the end of a sentence tended to get knocked out of position, so the printers tucked the little devils inside the quotation marks to keep them safe and out of trouble. But apparently only American printers were more attached to convenience than logic, since British printers continued to risk the misalignment of their periods and commas.

No.

But since I slept through high school, and didn't learn proper punctuation, as developed by some happy ****ing accident of printing, I use logic in placing punctuation.

No, it really is both. There are grammatically-correct usages of "that" and "which." And, the "that" which you incorrectly used above is indeed extraneous.

It's extraneous.

Extraneous is simply unnecessary.

By it's definition, it is not incorrect.
