Vontaze burfict

I know major problems but the lib is he not worth a pick in the next three rounds?

Heck if we are stuck with cassel, unfortunately looks like we are, then we need to have one of the best Ds in the league.

Bowser 04-28-2012 10:23 AM

Sounds like he has all the talent in the world, and not a lick of sense to go with it.

Someone will take a chacne on him in the seventh.

Direckshun 04-28-2012 10:24 AM

We have missed you, chiefscafan.

rageeumr 04-28-2012 10:27 AM

Drafting Burfict is the real-world equivalent to the guy that drafts a kicker in the 5th round of your fantasy draft. Everyone else sits around and snickers why they try to explain themselves.

Saul Good 04-28-2012 10:27 AM

All those "if we're stuck with Cassel we've got to do..." posts crack me up.

Spoiler alert: The Packers want a really good defense. The Lions want a great Offensive Line. The Patriots want a solid running game.

You don't look to improve your team because your QB sucks. You do it because you want to improve your team.

chiefscafan 04-28-2012 10:28 AM

Lol thanks direCkshun

Hey I know he is a major idiot but scary talented.

Sorry I'm tired of this draft I want us to get someone exciting

chiefscafan 04-28-2012 10:30 AM

So how long before we trade for cousins two three years

Demonpenz 04-28-2012 10:39 AM

I've seen the dude play, he reminds me this one time I created a 99 Overall linebacker on NCAA Football 2006, but my controller was broke, so everytime the ball was snapped the dude would just run off screen. By God he ran fast and powerful though.

Whosurdaddy 04-28-2012 11:55 AM

I'd burn a 6th on him with a clear ****ing conscience, besides there is No way the guy plays at 5.0 40 speed. I think the ravens would definitely pick him up. He's grown man baby that plays intense and needs to grow up, and the payoff could be huge if he does. Crazier things have happened.

At the very least a 6th round pass rusher or 7th round special teams animal would be worth it.

beach tribe 04-28-2012 11:58 AM

Here we go

Simplicity 04-28-2012 12:41 PM

I want him... He hits hard... Very hard.. Like not the hard where we normally see but the hard that makes people hard.

Mecca 04-28-2012 12:59 PM

You take him in the 6th and develop him as a 2 down thumper with upside to be more, if he's to much trouble you cut him, he's worth the risk.

Ok if he's there at our next pick the 6th round I roll the dice on him or if not sixth I take hi
Him 7th. We have three more picks if he's there he's worth one of the next three.

Way too many problems for this guy. Wouldn't have him on my draft board. Wouldn't call him if he's a FA. Any team that does take him better have some great leadership on D ready to sit this guy down and explain the facts of the NFL to him.

I said it on the draft thread - Burfict is a slower, dumber Brian Cox. He's nothing like Ray Lewis.

tk13 04-28-2012 01:58 PM

Ray Lewis may be crazy but he was also a monster in college. I wouldn't even begin to make that comparison.

Ray Lewis had more tackles his final year at Miami than Burfict did the past two seasons. Combined.

ChiefaRoo 04-28-2012 02:04 PM

Burfict is crazy, fat and out of shape. He also thinks he's got it all figured out without ever playing an NFL down. He reminds me of 80% of the Planet faithful.

Burfict's combine performance is slow, but his game tape is not.

royr17 04-28-2012 04:19 PM

It's the 7th round, last pick, if he's there it dont hurt to take him, in the end what are you goin to end ? a 7th round pick, i'd take him

DenverChief 04-28-2012 04:26 PM

why anyone is interested in a headcase is beyond me

BossChief 04-28-2012 04:27 PM

I'd draft him late 7th just to set him loose on special teams and goaline.

Let him know from the moment you draft him that's your intention.

You have to have a plan to motivate the kid and keep him focused, but of you can do that you have a player that could take over the game in short yardage and put the fear of God in some people on special teams.

yep.
Pull the trigger Mr Pioli.

Blick 04-28-2012 04:34 PM

"Letting him loose" on special teams is just asking teams to take kicks to the house on you. You have to stay disciplined, stay in your lane on kickoff coverage, not be slow as ****, etc.

I liked him at first...now I just think he would be a dumbass out there. I don't know how you change that.

As well as giving the opponent free yards on penalties

Gadzooks 04-28-2012 05:36 PM

I'd be pissed if the Ravens signed him as a UDFA since he was projected as their 1st rounder in every Mock I saw up until the combine.
Then the Sith lord would have his apprentice.

Mr. Flopnuts 04-28-2012 05:45 PM

Funny you mention "siller".
Brandon Siler was projected as a 1st or 2nd rounder his draft year, and dropped to the 7th where the Chargers took him. Burfict has far more swing in the upside downside dept.
After his performance at the combine I understand why he went undrafted. I can't help but wonder if he'll swing back up.

Well, since the Bengals signed him that seems unlikely.

Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict has agreed to terms on a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, a source with knowledge of the situation said Saturday.

Burfict, once a highly rated draft prospect, wasn't picked in the 2012 draft, but he has found an NFL home nonetheless.

A poor performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February and reports of a failed drug test hampered the former Sun Devils star. But the Bengals, known to give troubled players second chances, swooped in to add him.

Burfict collected 228 tackles (22.5 for loss), seven sacks and four forced fumbles in three seasons at Arizona State, according to the school's official website.

Yeah a LB with 5.1 speed that lacks discipline in the run game and is lost in pass coverage is good. He had a youtube video of highlight hits but he was garbage. You realize he didn't even start at end of last year? I'd love queeefs to sign this guy.
