Nothing. It is a Dane Cook video. If anything, your phone did you a favor by not opening the video.

He made a joke about the Colorado shooting that wasn't funny like all his other jokes.

Ceej 07-28-2012 06:40 PM

I know I'm certainly in the minority...but I enjoy Dane.

If he cracks a joke about that...not sure what to think.

Definitely not a wise move.

tk13 07-28-2012 06:41 PM

That wasn't even funny, appropriate or not.

Dr. Johnny Fever 07-28-2012 06:48 PM

I watched his stadium show "in the round" on tv a while back and I've never seen a person work so hard physically to sell himself as funny yet fall so short. He wore me out just seeing the actual physical effort he put into everything he did and it was just.... unenjoyable.

jd1020 07-28-2012 07:22 PM

Too soon for that kind of joke.

I don't have much of a problem with Dane. He's got pretty good timing. Some of his stuff is funny and some is a little over the top, ok... a lot over the top.

The more offensive thing is the seller is trying to spin it as something that is in memory of the victims. Good lord.

Phobia 07-28-2012 09:13 PM

The most offensive thing about the joke was that it was told with the expectation that it was funny.

I know, woohoo go me. But seriously. I know tragedy and comedy go hand in hand. But there's a reason "too soon" is a thing. And that's because, sometimes it is. Have some respect. At least for a while. A lot of people died there.

Frazod 07-28-2012 09:29 PM

Kind of ironic that kstater would complain about this.

No, not a disagreement at all. It was most certainly tragic but the fact that a domestic terrorist was involved takes it to an entirely different level, something that is beyond our normal comprehension. If a movie theater isn't safe, where can we truly be safe?

We all realize and recognize that airplanes can crash. Cars can crash. Walking against a traffic light can lead to injury or death. But watching a film in a movie theater?

This was one crazy ass wack job. He's not going to change what I do in any way. What he did has no effect on me going to see a movie in a theater.

Demonpenz 07-28-2012 10:42 PM

Dane Cook goes way over on time, he drops by open mics and does 1 hour sets, at this point people are laughing IRONICALLY at him. I remember one time he tweeted "Had a magical show tonight" people were flat out laughing at how bad it was. I do have to say this, when you are Dane Cook, where do you go to hammer out material? Everyone having a cell phone requires the comedian to politely ask not to post the joke or jokes on the net because they are still working on them.

Gonzo 07-28-2012 10:50 PM

Between Cook and Carlos Mencia you get maybe 10% original schtick. They're basically the same person except one of them is a gay fish.

Ultra Peanut 07-28-2012 11:00 PM

I didn't need to watch the video to be offended by Dane Cook's very existence.

Who, your douchy hero?

themanwithnoname 07-29-2012 03:29 PM

You know what, actually this might be the least douchebag thing he's done. You know comedians are chomping at the bit to do it, but you also know they can't or else they'll get lynched. There's a lot of Dane Cook hate already, so he takes the heat for this, and then people can get the **** over the fact that comedians make jokes about goddamned everything.

Haha, I bet he catches as much heat for saying the movie was crap.

Otter 07-29-2012 03:32 PM

Heh, that was barely offensive. Stand up comedians are a different breed, they do the same thing to each other, there's very few subjects that are off limits.

Don't care.

jd1020 07-29-2012 03:34 PM

I was in Brooklyn visiting a friend about three years ago and we went to a comedy place somewhat near his apartment. At about 11:30 they announced that they had a special guest that night and Chris Rock walked on stage and did about 45 minutes of new material.

It was the funniest show I have ever seen and there was maybe 50 people in the place.
