Man shot in face in parking lot during Raiders, Cardinals preseason game

Welp, Raiders fans.

Several Glendale Arizona news sources are reporting a man shot another man in the face in the Northwest parking lot of the University of Phoenix Stadium Friday night. The shooting happened outside while inside the stadium the Raiders were playing the Cardinals in a preseason NFL matchup.

Reportedly a fight broke out between two men and one of the men pulled a gun and shot the other in the face. The shooter is in custody and the victim is in the hospital in critical condition.

The incident is all too familiar to the Raiders and their fans whose annual preseason matchup with Bay Area rival 49ers was canceled until further notice due to a shooting that occurred following a game at Candlestick park two seasons ago. That violence had the NFL and the Raiders beefing up their security.

For this particular incident, there is no word on what started the altercation, who was a fan of whom (as if that should matter).

But I urge you to leave those matters to others who can't separate sport and life. Keep your thoughts with the victim and his family.

I think we all know who most likely started it

pimpchief 08-18-2012 02:08 AM

I would never go to oakland.

Have I, yes. Do I, no. I go with no colors in the best seats in the house and am the reeruned Raiders fan. I piss off everyone around me and giggle myself to sleep that night, it's awesome. You want to go this year?

pimpchief 08-18-2012 02:20 AM

Pussy sport your colors and keep your mouth shut.

KCrockaholic 08-18-2012 02:57 AM

Raider fans would be cooler if they realized football is a sport, not a gang. Until then, I'd rather not put myself around the shanks and thrown batteries.

Rasputin 08-18-2012 04:31 AM

Since this is most likely a raider on raider hate crime, I have two words for the man shot in the face & the other guy going to jail time for life.

You know what would be AMAZING....if this year when the shit donkeys go to oakland, the ground under their shit field collapses and swallows up both teams and the entire stadium like in the Dark Knight rises.

Mr. Flopnuts 08-18-2012 05:50 AM

Another fabulous tale out of the armpit of America.

Someone must have gotten their chocolate stuck in his peanut butter.

Aries Walker 08-18-2012 08:22 AM

Just as a side note, I will never get tired of the Curly Bill Brocious "Well. . . bye" clip.

okcchief 08-18-2012 08:30 AM

I went to a Chiefs/Raiders game 3 years ago and saw Raiders fans start multiple fights. Went to 49ers/Chiefs 2 years ago and saw a Raiders fan start a fight. This is the reason I hate the Raiders more than any other team. They feel like they are part of a gang. It's not that serious. I know some Raiders fans who are good guys, but they have a lot of punk ass fans who cling to the outlaw image.

notorious 08-18-2012 08:33 AM

Just shut that shithole down.

Block the exits during a game and firebomb the ****er. That would take care of a lot of problems.

Pasta Little Brioni 08-18-2012 08:37 AM

Nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure.

Seriously, though, scumbag pieces of trash need to suffer. A nuke would be way to humane.

You guys realize that this was in Arizona, right?

Does it matter?

Every time I watch the Chiefs play at Oakland and the cameras flash to the crowd it amazes me how reeruned grown criminals act.

Agent V 08-18-2012 09:17 AM

We have tailgating, Packers have the Leap, Oakland has gunfire... it all balances, really.

Funny thing: Raiders fans NEVER just sport their colors and shut up at visiting stadiums. They're the absolute worst.

Bump 08-18-2012 10:01 AM

What do you expect when you go to a game in oakland? Do you walk into a blood territory neighborhood in blue shirts? no, not unless you want to die.

I am not excusing Raider fans for violence, because it has been an issue for a long time, but I have gone to many games in Oakland, sometimes with another woman Chiefs fan, sometimes with my husband, and once with a Raider fan friend, always in red, and have found it to be predominantly good natured ribbing like any other away stadium. One or two instances were a bit over the top after beating them, but never dangerous. I used to live in a loft in East Oakland, near the Fruitvale Bart and drove around with my Chiefs stickers every day. Got nothing but some wide eyed shock from people. Parked it on the street every night, no one ever messed with it.

On the other hand, I nearly got my ass handed to me in the bathroom in Pittsburgh by a bitch mob. Nothing worse than female Steelers fans.

You are female. A Raider thug surrounded by 70,000 other idiots are not going to go after a woman.

My husband isn't a female. He was just fine too. As were the other people in red I often see there. Like I said I am not defending Raider fans from the stereotype, as it is definitely based in reality, but I just want people to understand you are not risking your life by going to a game there. People also think the city of Oakland is just a dump that all looks like the sports complex area, and it isn't true. Oakland is a cool city. Along with the large and unattractive industrial area, it has alot of great architecture, beautiful hills, amazing parks, great restaurants, thriving art and music scenes, and some of the best bars I've ever been to because of the people. I really enjoyed living there. Enjoyed living in San Francisco too, but Oakland is alot more like Kansas City than people might think.

If this game was in Arizona, then it might have been involving LA/ Southern California area Raider fans which is a whole other level of angry fan.
