Call your shot: Playoff teams for the 2012 season

Keep in mind EVERY year there are 5 plus new playoff teams from the year before (which is why it's pointless to bitch about a tough schedule).

Who ya got?

007 09-05-2012 04:39 PM

There will be playoff teams for the 2012 season.

I disagree.

OnTheWarpath15 09-05-2012 04:44 PM

The NFC is brutal this year. There are 10-12 teams you could give consideration to.

Anywho...without taking the time to look at schedules:

NFC:

Eagles
Packers
Seahawks
Falcons
Saints
Bears

AFC:

Patriots
Ravens
Broncos
Texans
Jets
Steelers

O.city 09-05-2012 04:45 PM

Steelers, Texans, Chargers, Pats win AFC divisions.

Eagles, Lions, Seahawks, Falcons win NFC divisions.

Packers, 9ers WC NFC

Broncos, Bengals WC AFC

In all honesty, outside the Pats, the AFC is a little down this year. Every other team has question marks. Jets are a mess, Ravens are without Suggs for most of the year, Steelers are bad up front and d is aging, Texans have lost some olinemen. Chargers are banged up and the d has question marks, Broncos have a qb who is a question at this point.

007 09-05-2012 04:46 PM

NO way will there be two teams from the AFC west.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-05-2012 04:46 PM

Yeah, I am still looking over the NFC trying to figure that one out. Bears are a great choice, but damn who to take out?

O.city 09-05-2012 04:50 PM

Shit, look at the NFC north and South. 6 teams there that could be damn good.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-05-2012 04:52 PM

This is going to be a ridiculously entertaining season around the league. So much competitive balance.

Bugeater 09-05-2012 04:53 PM

Pretty much any team but the Chiefs have a shot.

It's easier to list the NFC teams that absolutely WON'T make the playoffs:

Rams
Cardinals
Vikings

Sorter 09-05-2012 04:54 PM

NFC:

Giants
Packers
49ers
Falcons
Saints
Lions/Bears

AFC:

Patriots
Ravens
Broncos/Chiefs
Texans
Chiefs/Bengals/Broncos
Steelers

I'd add Redskins. Division is too tough. Next year maybe.

Hell, the Cardinals might actually compete in the West.

O.city 09-05-2012 05:01 PM

I don't see the Ravens making it this year, without Suggs.

They swept the Super Bowl Champs last year with complete garbage at QB.

While I do think that teams like Washington, Tampa and Carolina are long shots, I can't completely count them out.

O.city 09-05-2012 05:04 PM

The Giants won the SB last year, but they weren't the same team during the regular season.

Yet many are picking 2 teams from that division to be in the playoffs.

I almost asked what happened to the NFCW rule.

Not me. Seahawks will be improved, but the NFC is just such an absolute rape fight. There will be one division winner and that's it.

Hell, I don't even have the Saints in the playoffs in my prediction

I know it doesn't make a ton of sense now, but crazy things always happen. I can see the 49ers taking a big step back. Bears are just the odd man out in a loaded division. That could easily be the Eagles, Cowboys, or Panthers. I dunno. Bucs had a really, really good offseason, but Falcons are just better.

I say Chiefs and Broncos rematch in wild card round of Playoffs.

Not that its a crazy pick, but curious how many times in the past 8 years you have predicted your team to be in the SB?

Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, and a weak-ass division. I have no issues being a homer and picking them every season.
