Post game observations,... early.

With the massacre going on right now no sense waiting till after the game to post post-game opinions. I'll go first. Feel free to post yours.

1- That we are getting murdered out on the field was predictable, due to the one sided match up problems we were going to lose this big anyway. The first half was a fluke. here's my question: With $23+ million over the cap what the **** should we not have better depth for the secondary?! WHY THE **** DON'T WE HAVE BETTER DEPTH FOR THIS SECONDARY MR. PIOLI?!!! :#

2- With point 1 off my chest, I have to say once we get the injured d-backs back we probably have one of the better secondary's in the NFL. So let's look at what worries me even more. What the ****'s happened to our new improved Cadillac of an offensive line? I don't think Atlanta's front 7 is all that great. So what are we going to do against good front 7s that we will face? Is it coaching? Is it personnel? That is really a point of worry.

3- Is it me or do the Chiefs look soft to you? Maybe kind grandpa's coaching style is not what the doctor ordered for this personnel? Maybe a task master is. At least we looked tough with Haley at the helm.

4- Oh yeah, Cassel sucks. Time to try out our back ups in this game. Welcome to KC Tyler Wilson. (I wish I could even believe that last sentence.) :banghead:

Deberg_1990 09-09-2012 01:35 PM

I honestly cant tell the difference between a Herm, Haley or RAC coached team. I have no idea what this means......other than all 3 suck.

L.A. Chieffan 09-09-2012 01:36 PM

Yeah, its Cassells fault that the defense couldnt stop a thing, his OL couldnt block a thing, and his WRs couldnt catch a thing. GENIOUS!

L.A. Chieffan 09-09-2012 01:36 PM

Dexter looked pretty good

Sadly as the game goes on he is actually getting worse and degressing.

And to think there is an apology thread to Cassel going on on CP. :shake:

FloridaMan88 09-09-2012 01:40 PM

You get what you pay for. The Chiefs are close to $30 million under the salary cap and Fat Scott settled this offseason for other teams trash such as Peyton Hillis.

Fat Scott should be fired after today's game.

What a disgrace.

ElGringo 09-09-2012 01:40 PM

This team was not built to play from behind, which is a good thing since we don't have a QB that has the ability to play from behind. IMHO if the game is close or god forbid we have a lead we have a pretty good team. If we ever fall behind Matty gets nervous and it reflects on the entire offense.

RGIII is playing very well, our first rounder was a non factor, and our starting QB played as expected. Glad we didn't gamble and try to trade up.

Atlanta made second half adjustments and the Chiefs with their bargain basement coaching staff didn't counter.

In addition to not paying for players, the Chiefs don't pay for high caliber coaches or assistant coaches.

The difference was on display today.

SDKCCHIEFS 09-09-2012 01:43 PM

genious or genius?

SDKCCHIEFS 09-09-2012 01:44 PM

Poe played alright. his tackle for loss was a nice swim move into the backfield.

qabbaan 09-09-2012 01:44 PM

Cassel sucks, this team is paper-thin, 6-10

MMXcalibur 09-09-2012 01:44 PM

Where was Baldwin?

QuikSsurfer 09-09-2012 01:45 PM

Aside from Charles (his first half) and Dexter --- this game was total fail.

Hillis was a good signing IMO. Why wasn't more done for the Oline is what I wanna know?

Molitoth 09-09-2012 01:45 PM

the defense sucked and then the whole team gave up.

We also aren't built to get ahead, so that's kind of a problem for us.

Hillis averaging 2.3 yards per carry today.

How is that an upgrade over what Thomas Jones did last year?

Munson 09-09-2012 01:46 PM

- Cassel is a fraud of a starting QB.

- Our pass rush is complete shit without Tamba.

- Letting Carr go was a huge mistake.

- Scott Pioli can go f*** himself.

ElGringo 09-09-2012 01:47 PM

Cassel did have a great first half as well. Once we got behind and really needed him to throw the ball, yeah, he shit the bed.

we couldn't have realistically traded up for RGIII. We could have traded up for the guy the Dolphins took. i liked the guy, but not in a trade up scenario. He's a project and he's evidently showing it today.

ElGringo 09-09-2012 01:50 PM

Cassel was good in the first half, don't blame the fumble on him, nor the first INT. However once he was really behind, and we had to rely on him to throw the ball around the field, he just doesn't have the confidence or tools or whatever it is to get it done.

Who? RGIII or Tannehill?

Jones did that over a season. This is only one game with Hillis behind an O-line that plays like soft stools today.

Somebody in the KC media needs to get on Pioli & Hunt's ass for being $26 mil under the cap and having no ****ing depth in the secondary or at linebacker. Inexcusable. It lost us the game today...and having Cassel as our QB. Which is on Pioli.

at least our first rounder this year actually played/started/did something

our first rounder of 2011 the mighty practice god Jon Baldwin is the 4th WR and like 10th option on the offense and stands on the sideline.

Literally non-factor. It's an awful pick if they arent even going to use the kid. You could have taken anything else there. A CB, a Safety and Pass rusher, whatever.

Red Dawg 09-09-2012 02:00 PM

Matt can't rally troops and they probably don't believe in him anyway. Yes the defense was bad and banged up but his two shitty throws and his of course his fumble, which seems to haopen every game, destroyed any hope. He can't handle pressure and plays unertain of himself.

ClevelandBronco 09-09-2012 02:10 PM

I laughed. I cried. I'd see it again and again, but with a different woman every time.

Rain Man 09-09-2012 02:28 PM

The Baldwin thing is disappointing. I wasn't a big fan of the pick when it happened, but had hope for him. So does he get no action because he can't get open, or does he get no action because Cassel never looks for the #2 receiver?

Every guy but Baldwin caught a pass. Not sure why.

Lets wait more than one week before calling it a pattern.

Meh, I give Baldwin a pass. He was drafted to replace Bowe.

Nightfyre 09-09-2012 02:30 PM

1- This team missed Flowers and Hali. duh.
2- Matt Cassel is a piece of shit.
3- The play-calling was atrocious. Especially after the Atlanta defense just started pinning their ears back.

Aldon Smith got jobbed right there. It really looked like he was the stupidest guy on earth throwing his helmet, but it really was kind of coming off anyway after getting kicked.

It's not really working, unless he's replacing the holdout part of Bowe.

This is something I brought up a while ago. I am NOT a fan of the hires we made in the offseason and I think they are due to Pioli croneyism instead of merit.

Romeo's team did look soft and I'll again question why we weren't doing tackling drills in the offseason and whether it's a good thing (as everyone praised before) that Romeo's first area of emphasis was putting our defense in the film room instead of the weight room. Second, Brian Daboll was brilliant in the first half, but his second half was an embarrassment. Atlanta had their number. Either the second half was a fluke for Daboll and he's actually good, or he's handcuffed by Cassel, or he's just not good at making adjustments, or Atlanta built the blueprint for how all future defenses stop the Chiefs' offense. That's very, very concerning.

Third, to leadership... for as well as Cassel played, same questions come up. Is he a QB players want to do battle for. He played lethargically frustrated in the second half. And it's funny, when he celebrates, he always strikes me as the Waterboy when he tries to get people to "slap hands" with him.

Dark Horse 09-09-2012 02:47 PM

This team has no heart at the first sign of adversity they quit.

It's Romeo and his coaching style. Take away the weird preseason decision by Haley that handcuffed this team for the first 4 weeks, his Chiefs always played hard for him, and to the last minute.
