Hillis?

What happened to this guy? After running on the AZ cardinals he had his ticket to canton stamped and I drafted him in my FF league? Why wasn't he getting the goalline carries against Atlanta? Is he hurt or in the doghouse?

Rain Man 09-11-2012 04:29 PM

We're resting him for the playoffs.

Rasputin 09-11-2012 04:31 PM

How did you like them long snaps on punts last night? That was some funny shit there.

New World Order 09-11-2012 04:31 PM

Thomas Jones 2.0

Hammock Parties 09-11-2012 04:31 PM

Our OL really is not that good. Charles wasn't having much success either.

He had six carries that were worth shit the whole game.

What do I not understand about this? Seriously, how hard is it to long snap? I know it might not be perfect, but it seems like a typical pro athlete should be able to at least get it in the air and not roll it. That was bizarre.

Yep. Our line is not making holes. This offensive line has been grossly over rated by fans.

They showed him practice on the side lines doing just fine. Bizarre yes. Funny it was the raiders hell yes funny.

I think those snaps actually cost them the game. I realize that long snappers are important, but I wouldn't have really guessed that an injured long snapper would be such a disaster. That was like a F5 tornado hitting their special teams.

On another note, some team had a long snapper who made several snaps after breaking his arm, because apparently their backup wasn't much better than the Raiders guy. It was a tough week for long snappers. I wonder if anyone is dialing up Kendall Gammon.

Well, Atlanta's D is pretty good.

I expect us to do well against bad defenses.

We'll lose games to good teams, especially if they have a good defense.

Same old shit.

Snapping the ball 15 yards (45 ft) and then having to block isn't something a player can just do at the drop of a hat.

You use both hands to snap the ball and have to IMMEDIATELY get back up and block someone. If you don't have practice doing that, I can see where it can go wrong.

O.city 09-11-2012 04:46 PM

I think most fans or at least myself, aren't anointing this oline great yet. They have a lot of potential but it's gonna take some time to gel

Yeah, McFailen lit it up last night.

O.city 09-11-2012 05:01 PM

Positive that we lit up the falcons, who have a pretty good d, throwing the ball for a half

A whole half! LMAO

Brock 09-11-2012 05:11 PM

What happened to Carson Palmer? What happened to your receivers? What happened to your offensive line? What happened to your pass defense? What happened to your special teams? What happened to your coaching staff?

Bump 09-11-2012 05:33 PM

running backs either get yards or they don't. Hillis doesn't.

Cassel, pretty much himself, with some help from the running game, kept us in a shootout for a half against a good team, when his defense wasnt' getting stops.

Ever think you would say that?

He threw for 120 yards, dude.

We've seen him do that before.

He wasn't that great.

As bad as he was running the ball, his pass protection was WORSE.

If he doesn't improve dramatically, he's pretty much worthless. Not even good enough to deserve being called Thomas Jones 2.0.

ThaVirus 09-11-2012 07:27 PM

Based on the first game, which doesn't mean much, I'd rather see Draughn getting snaps.

BWillie 09-11-2012 07:30 PM

Hillis will be fine. He got what 6 carries, he should do much better than Thomas Jones. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up with at least like 4.3 ypc.

He did fine. He had 120 total yards and 13 catches in the pass game. Back to the original legit post seriously I thought Hillis was going to be a big part of the chiefs offense and he only got 7 carries and no goalline work?

sedated 09-11-2012 07:48 PM

I'll bite.

No one really knows what happened with Hillis, but he suddenly disappeared from the game in place of the 3rd stringer (although that isnt completely crazy considering we kept 5 RBs), then got the attention of the media when he bolted the locker room less than 4 minutes after the game was over.

mcaj22 09-11-2012 08:02 PM

didnt even have time to take a shower, just took his toys and left the sandbox that big baby

He's a big pussy quitter who vanishes when things go south.

He's gonna be the white LJ.

mcaj22 09-11-2012 08:12 PM

if we continue to lose he will be the ultimate cancer and this place will turn very quickly on him.

def love/hate with this guy. I'm just going to expect the worst from him and assume he does that because he's not going to get the ball enough between Charles, The Midget and our 35 TEs stealing all the touches

Yeah, 120 is nothing to turn a head at, but we also run the ball alot more than most passing teams.

pimpchief 09-11-2012 08:57 PM

Hillis just had a bad game, he will destroy folks this season.

I don't think Kendall Gammon did much blocking.

Fine?

He's a RB. 32 yards on 15 carries is ass.

Not to mention he's apparently their best (only?) receiver.

Micjones 09-12-2012 06:43 AM

Atlanta had the 6th best run defense in the NFL last year.
You guys know that, right?

Hillis is the secondary back to JChar. Always has been and always will.

McFadden IS the Raiders offense.

Pretty much. I was disappointed in him. I hope he gets better but im not going to get my hopes up much. He looks slow to me. Hes really only had 1 good year and last year he feel off a cliff. At least we have plenty of other Rbs in case he fails.

Hillis is just like LJ.

If he can build up a head of steam and has a decent hole to slip through he can make a play at the second level.

He's shit at creating when there's no running room.

He'll be fine if the run blocking is good. Probably make a lot of plays and pick up a lot of yards after contact.

If not, he'll look like shit.

By the way, we play a team with an excellent run defense Sunday.

What part of his game gives you the confidence he will be fine? He was a no show in every aspect that I witnessed. He wasn't even a speed bump in pass blocking.

mcaj22 09-12-2012 09:13 AM

i remember people on here thought Hillis would be our part time FB for Charles because we werent carrying a true FB.

Hillis can't block his way out of a paper bag it's so sad. And this dude was a FB for Felix Jones or whatever the **** players he blocked for in college. And since he's found a hint of success in the NFL it's like he forgot all about blue collar blocking and just wants "his"

The same thing happened with Leron McClain. Once he tasted the "feature back" role, he didn't want to do the grunt work anymore...

Is that a picture of Al Davis before or after death?
