Glenn Dorsey Injured In Practice - Possible Achilles Tendon Injury

OH NO! WE SUCK AGAIN!

Time for the Poe-Powe.

Richard_Cuckold 09-27-2012 06:44 PM

damn

Bewbies 09-27-2012 06:45 PM

Did he intercept a pass from Cassel on the play?

Hammock Parties 09-27-2012 06:45 PM

Eh, he's always dinged up down there.

However, our COMPLETE lack of depth at DE will destroy our run defense if he's out for any length of time.

mikey23545 09-27-2012 06:46 PM

Also, Bowe limited in practice with what the Chiefs are calling a groin injury.

Well, sounds like he is out for this game at the least. Hope it's not an achilles. But yea, time to bring out the Poe-Powe and make this shit happen.

Bailey is good depth, Poe can play DE, and the ball grabber is dying to join the team. DE is one place our depth is ok

BossChief 09-27-2012 06:48 PM

Shaun Smith, come on down.

TBH, no real big loss if we bring the deep freeze back.

It says calf on the official website. The only player on the injury report that practiced in full was O'Connell lawlz

RealSNR 09-27-2012 06:50 PM

Shaun was desperate for a job and just missed way too low on his nutsack grab.

Something he'll need to work back into shape.

#Chiefs list Dorsey as being limited in practice with calf injury. Bowe was limited with what they're now calling a groin injury.

Not reporting certain injuries protects the players.

I get the impression Gretz was basing it on what he saw on the practice field...Since when do the Pioli Chiefs tell the whole story on injuries?

He said Dorsey had to be helped off the field.

But of course, if you saw a tweet about it, that trumps any other information source.

Poe. LMAO

Guys are figuring out with club Romeo that you can be "dinged" up during the week and get to take it easy then play on sundays

whoman69 09-27-2012 07:00 PM

Who will be able to take his place when we need someone to totally disappear in pass rush from our base defense?

TRR 09-27-2012 07:00 PM

Obviously some injuries cannot be avoided. However, the last two years have been plagued with nickel and dime injuries as well. Pulled groins, hamstrings, twisted ankles, etc. When does the strength and conditioning coach become accountable for these types of injuries piling up?

I think this is a lot of it. You don't have to practice in full just participate on a limited basis and you'll play. Practice is practice, limited or full.

I hate to think in terms of worst case scenarios, but is it possible that God hates us?

Failing that, is it possible that Roleo is not focusing enough attention on lifting and conditioning and that is why we're getting more dinged up every day?

No they have to sign waivers to release any information that the NFL offices decides could effect the outcome of the game. There is a standard list of injuries that automatically trigger a public release of information.

Players have an option to protest the release of information but no player has even won, so its rare this day to protest. Most of the rumors were that the team was the one actually protesting to get an advantage. Thats why none have ever been overturned.

petegz28 09-27-2012 07:12 PM

Just put Powe and Poe in and get rid of the 2 gap shit and let them tear shit up.

O.city 09-27-2012 07:12 PM

I think it was reported before practice that he would be limited and had a calf injury

petegz28 09-27-2012 07:12 PM

Bailey would probably be the immediate replacment though, I would guess

mikey23545 09-27-2012 07:15 PM

This is what Gretz reported...No, it was not a tweet, so obviously it can't be true:

"Turns out, they just added two more names – starters no less – to the list. During the early part of Thursday’s session, DE Glenn Dorsey went down with what the Chiefs are calling a calf injury. Dorsey had to have help coming off the practice field from a trainer and it appeared the injury was around his ankle. If it’s the calf, that could be an Achilles tendon and that’s not a good deal.

Another new addition to the injury report was WR Dwayne Bowe who has a bruised thigh. Bowe practiced on Wednesday, but complained after practice of pain in the leg, so he was limited in participation on Thursday with what the Chiefs called a groin problem."

This is from the front page of his site, not the pay portion, so hopefully it's OK to quote it.

petegz28 09-27-2012 07:18 PM

Bowe will probably be fine for gameday.

Direckshun 09-27-2012 07:28 PM

Current depth chart, injuries considered.

QB: Cassel, Quinn, Stanzi
RB: Charles, Draughn, Gray
FB: Eachus

WR: Bowe, Baldwin, Breaston, Copper, Wylie
TE: Moeaki, Maneri, O'Connell

LT: Albert, Stephenson
LG: Allen, Hochstein
C: Lilja, Mattison
RG: Asamoah, Hochstein
RT: Winston, Stephenson

DE: Pitoitua, Bailey
NT: Powe, Poe
DE: Jackson, Bailey

OLB: Hali, Jones
ILB: Belcher, Siler
ILB: Johnson, Greenwood
OLB: Houston, Studebaker

CB: Flowers, Routt, Arenas, Brown
S: Berry, Elam, Daniels, Hartman

K: Succop
P: Colquitt
LS: Gafford

Still looking alright. This is why you build good depth.

Going to need Shaun Smith, I would think.

When people say "a groin" they typically mean a pulled groin, not a bruised thigh. Big difference.

Doubt it. Bailey is small and sucks against the run. I know you saw him get some sacks his rookie year, so you just assume he's good all around, but he's not. If we can't stop the run on early downs, our whole defensive philosophy is negated...

He flashed loads of potential as a rookie defensive linemen and you were GUSHING about him last year.

COUNTRY STRONG

Try to keep things in perspective.

By the end of this year and going into next year, he will be a legitimate face raper if he can stay healthy and develop his talents.

To be more specific, almost none of them are.

Bailey is a defensive lineman in his 2nd year. We don't know shit about him. That position takes 3 years.

But if it fits your vaginal bleeding on Pioli and gets you attention knock yourself out.

I totally agree with that. It's why I think they should have Shaun Smith in KC TONIGHT and signed by now.

TBH I think that should be the case even if the injury didn't happen to GD.

I can't figure out why the guy isn't on a roster somewhere. Do we know that he's in playing shape?
