Maas on 610

Anyone else catch this? He sugest that the fans should pool their money to give to clark so he'll fire Pioli.

Deberg_1990 11-16-2012 08:43 AM

Lets all pool our money together and buy Maas more blow.

It would be cheaper to pay for Pioli's contract.

durtyrute 11-16-2012 09:02 AM

He was saying instead of spending money on banners we should give it to Clark over a period of time and help pay for the cost of a new GM. It was something like having stock in the team.

Saul Good 11-16-2012 09:22 AM

Maybe the whole city should pool hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade the stadium so that a billionaire owner can make more money while millionaire athletes shit all over the field and then call out the fans in the media.

That just might work.

CaliforniaChief 11-16-2012 09:33 AM

Over/under on how many days until Maas appears on Intervention?

wazu 11-16-2012 09:34 AM

I actually like where he was going. He basically was saying if SaveOurChiefs wants to really get their attention, then meet with Clark about subsidizing the cost of something specific that we want. (i.e. donating to the cause of Pioli buyout or whatever). People could get some kind of a meaningless paper share or something.

It just shows another level of commitment. If the goal is to save OUR Chiefs then it's fans claiming ownership. His point was that if we can raise cash to fly banners and such then that money is wiser spent on pooling and making the offer to Hunt.

I think Hunt would decline, but the statement that it makes is huge. And image the headlines.

Bill. Left hand. window. Crack pipe. Throw out. No go away.

gblowfish 11-16-2012 09:38 AM

The sad reality is, they are not "our Chiefs." They belong to the Hunt Family. They are the Hunt Family's property. And the Hunt Family will do what they want, when they want, and how they want, regardless of what we think.

That's just the way it is.

Fish 11-16-2012 09:39 AM

Thanks for the update Bill... Now we'll let you get back to what you were doing....

Hmmm, $600 to fly a banner.

2 million or so to buy out Pioli's contract for one year.

Clark can wipe his ass with $100 dollar bills if he wanted. The money generated by SOC is but a small pimple on the giant ass of Arrowhead and the Kansas City Chiefs.

And I'm sure that all successful NFL GM's have rebuilt their organizations by meeting with fringe fan groups and letting them dictate how to run the team.

Pretty sure that would break league rules if the Hunts did that..

Your missing the point. Imagine this:

SaveOurChiefs pledges to Clark Hunt to raise $1 Million to buyout Pioli's contract.

Result possibility #1: Clark Declines (probably), and the money never has to be raised. But oh, the headlines and media coverage!

Result Possibility #2: Clark accepts. Huge media exposure to raise. Need 50,000 fans to donate $20 each. Less than parking at the game. Who wouldn't want in on that?

My guess is that at this point you'd come up about 48,500 fans short.

KCHawg 11-16-2012 10:52 AM

I think Chiefs fans have pooled a shit ton of money and given it to Hunt...tickets, parking, stadium upgrades, merchandise...how much more ****ing money does he need?

DaneMcCloud 11-16-2012 10:59 AM

Sounds like a great plan.

Fans who pay for parking, concessions, single game and season tickets should raise money for an ownership group that receives a minimum of $312 MILLION PER YEAR in TV rights fees.

Because, you know, the Hunt's just don't have enough money to buyout their shit GM.

Bill Maas, if you're reading this, go **** yourself, Dumbass.

Marcellus 11-16-2012 10:59 AM

You guys take too much shit literally. Maas' point is valid. He is just making a statement not expecting people to actually send Clark $$.

Lex Luthor 11-16-2012 11:04 AM

If Clark Hunt is so much of a dumbass that he hasn't already decided to fire Pioli, sending him some insignificant small amount of cash isn't going to make him smarter.

Not that I disagree with your point, but your number is WAY off regarding television rights...as in off by a couple hundred million.

It was a bit of an exaggeration but beginning in 2014, the estimated rights fees will be $7 billion dollars. Each team will receive approximately $219 million from TV rights alone, and that figure doesn't include Direct TV's fee, which is an additional $800 million or $25 million per team. So, closer to $245 million.

Asking fans to donate more money in order to fire the GM is asinine.

Was going to say the same thing...isnt the fact that the fans buy the tickets, go to the game, pay to park, buy the merchandise, the beer/food at the stadium enough of a pooling of funds to buy out his contract?

Maybe in 30 years and I doubt it would happen then.

The Chiefs aren't going anywhere. The Hunt Family dumped more than $100 million into Arrowhead and have a lease agreement with Jackson County.

Furthermore, there's no way Roger Goodell signs off on the Chiefs moving to Los Angeles. No ****ing way.

Possibly...Jacksonville might have an upper hand on the move. Leases/Contracts can be broken and 100M isnt much when you're talking about billions and a larger market would bring more ad revenues.

If not, well, at least KC will continue to be the doormat/joke of the league that most teams look at as a second bye.

Have you priced jet fuel for a G6 lately? The Chiefs aren't going anywhere (if they don't go to Austin or Oklahoma City).

The local media has been on the bandwagon for a while at least since SOC got moving. I think because of the blackout this weekend they understand that pushing it, and the message that we deserve better, is the way to put the final nail in his coffin.

Brilliant.

Los Angeles doesn't even have a stadium in place to host an NFL tea,. And the sale of AEG, which came out of the blue just two weeks ago, threw a serious wrench in the process.

It's going to be a long, long time before there's an NFL team in Los Angeles.
