Poll: Will you spend money on the Chiefs next season if Pioli is still around?

Yes... I did this once and I want to run the same poll again.

I'm talking DTV w/superfan so you can watch from afar.

soopamanluva 11-20-2012 05:55 PM

No.

I can't imagine anyone would.

Bwana 11-20-2012 05:56 PM

Not only no, but hell no.

I don't understand ... do the Chiefs have their own food?

I mean, I don't care how insane Pioli is or how poorly the Chiefs play, I'm not giving up my coconut pie.

T-Town 11-20-2012 05:58 PM

If Pioli is around, meaning Roleo and Cassel are not? Yes, I would probably look into DTV. I should be in a fairly permanent residence then with a big boy job and have never had Sunday Ticket. This is assuming that we draft a QB and don't start Quinn or something completely Chiefs-like.

Bump 11-20-2012 05:58 PM

I won't even renew Sunday Ticket, in fact, I will cancel DTV all together.

I was allowing for a situation where someone was taken to the game free of charge and didn't have to pay for parking. That person might still spend money on a hot dog and a brew in the stadium.

Just covering all bases.

Hammock Parties 11-20-2012 05:59 PM

I wouldn't buy a $4 hat this offseason.

Id spend money on the Denver Broncos before i spent another penny on a Pioli led Chiefs team.

So NO!

Just covering all bases.

Okay.

Then the answer is no. Not a penny.

EDIT: Just to be clear ... the Chiefs will never win anything of note with Pioli in charge of things. 4 years is a sufficient amount of time to determine what Pioli is and is not. He is crazy as a loon and is not a GM who can take you all the way. Any "supposed" improvements he may make to the team will be a mirage and people may run for the pool, but it will turn to sand before they get there. If Pioli is still GM (which would be exceedingly foolish on Clark's part), we will be treated like crap, the team will be crap, and I shall not financially support crap. I'd much prefer to give the money to Second Harvest.

I'll probably spend more, since I'll need to stock up on black gear.

I will watch the team on TV. I will not buy a jersey. My Kimble Anders jersey will be my last until Pioli is gone.

Rain Man 11-20-2012 06:25 PM

I'll spend the same amount, which is zero. I guess perhaps I'm due to visit KC at some point for a game, but that's kind of semi-random anyway. Perhaps I would defer it if we still have a terrible team, but I'm not sure.

I do spend money going to sports bars to watch the games, and most likely will continue that. The game last week sure wasn't a fun experience, though, and none of that money goes to the Chiefs directly.

CoMoChief 11-20-2012 06:27 PM

Not only would i not spend money....i wouldn't waste my time even going to the stadium to watch bad football live even if all my expenses were paid.

At least at home, I can change the channel.

CaliforniaChief 11-20-2012 06:30 PM

I will not renew the NFL Sunday Ticket, if Pioli is retained.

Also, the trip I am beginning to plan to Dallas to watch the Chiefs play the Cowboys will not happen.

There will be no Chiefs merchandise on my Christmas list, either.

But I can tell you that if Pioli is fired, I will most likely:
1. Renew the Sunday Ticket
2. Travel to Dallas to watch the Cowboys/Chiefs
3. Possibly travel to San Diego to watch the Chiefs/Chargers
4. Put a Geno Smith jersey (or whomever else is the #1 QB) on the top of my wish list.

My first thought was 'this', but even though a shiny new QB could make things fun again, I'd need to see things moving in the right direction besides just drafting a QB, starting with a new HC, OC, and DC. Last year was a major breaking point, and even before this season started I thought "well, I could go to just a couple of games...". I'm surprised how easy it is after all the shitty seasons to still feel like I need to spend so much on tickets.

MoreLemonPledge 11-20-2012 06:55 PM

Other than Sunday Ticket :# :banghead: :cuss: I haven't spent a cent on those ****ers this year. All Chiefs stuff has been boxed and banished to the basement, with the exception of autographed stuff from former players who don't suck.

I cannot imagine that Pissoli will be retained, but if he is, I will absolutely not renew Sunday Ticket, and this time I'll be able to stick to that.

durtyrute 11-20-2012 07:21 PM

I was going to pose this question earlier, but you beat me to it.

If Pioli is here next year and we draft a QB, you guys will still watch especially if we win a few games. Don't give me that "if Pioli is back I'm done bullshit", a new QB and or winning will bring you back. Shit you are still here now and this is the worse suck ever. The seats aren't empty because of Pioli, the seats are empty because we are losing.

AussieChiefsFan 11-20-2012 07:26 PM

It Geno is drafted ill be very tempted to buy his jersey even if pioli is around. But then again, I get my jerseys from a third party site.

This is a good point.

And as a general rule of thumb, people should never buy the jersey of a rookie. It's way too risky. You don't want to be the Seahawks fan with the Curry jersey or the Jets fan with the Gholston jersey.

My question was going to be a tad different. Everyone is saying that they would jump shit if he returns, but what if he returns with a QB and we win a few. All of the "ship jumpers" would hop their happy asses right back aboard and pretend like they never left.

"We" are losing because of Pioli. What we're seeing is the end result of his master plan.

DaFace 11-20-2012 07:40 PM

Option #2 for me. I'll still get NFLST and watch most of the games. However, I've been wanting to get back to KC for a game for the last couple years, and I certainly won't be doing that until we at least have a new QB and coach, and most likely not if Pioli is there either.

The Yep Bug just excreted a small pile of Yep.

Let's say they get a new quarterback. We don't have a single coach who can prepare him for the NFL. And thanks to Dr. Evil, it's going to be difficult to find a decent coach who wants to place himself ass-up under the GM's thumb.

Dr. Evil is toxic. He is poison to this franchise and anathema to me. I mean, think about this; he truly hates the fans. He hates us. Why should I give money to an organization run by an insane person who hates me? I already pay taxes.

I'm just starting to lose interest in the NFL in general. My opinion of Goodell isn't much better than my opinion of Pioli. The games are two-thirds commercials and bullshit, ticket prices are through the roof, as is the cost of merchandise, and I have no doubt at this point that the officiating is rigged. And not in a way that will favor the Chiefs, unless we manage to land a Manning-like superstar who will generate interest and jersey sales. We're about the smallest market there is with pretty much zero national following, and the powers that be have no interest in our success.

I sometimes wonder if Pioli was sent here to destroy the franchise, and if he is retained, I'll be pretty much convinced that is the case. Clark gets paid whether we win or lose - doesn't seem like he cares much while he's hanging out with Chip at Buffy at his local Dallas country club.

Well thanks for the poll that will certainly make it to Clark's closed-blinds office (free of gum wrappers), and will be modified to read that next year's profits will be at an all time high is he'll simply retain PeeHoleee... Crap, my phone is bugged!

The only money I have spent on anything Chiefs related since Cassel has been here were the playoff tickets. After seeing it with my own eyes, I knew there was no way I would support these jokers with the money I work so hard for and have better things to spend it on.

It's a shame because I used to spend a few grand a year supporting this team in various ways.

Pioli/Cassel/Romeo all need to hit the road and Geno Smith and a GOOD head coaching hire needs made for me to give a **** again enough for them to EARN my money again.

**** no - I quit watching the Bengals game at halftime...same with the Steelers game, and the Chargers Thursday Nighter. I mean they were on...but I didn't bother watching the suck, per se. Sound off, tunes on...it's kinda like a reverse-laugh track. Just on to look at the score or watch MVP Colquitt pin the opposing offense within the 5 so they can have a 98-yard drive...the comedy of errors rolls on, whether we pay attention or not.

Mizzou has sucked so bad this year...The Chiefs have broken my heart irrepairably...I'm pretty much totally done with NCAA ball. And now...the NFL, they don't pay taxes ("not for profit"), they're as fixed as the WWE...and as long as Clark Hunt owns this team, it will never be truly elite, mark my words.

I'm pretty much at the point that I'm a Todd Haley fan as far as the NFL goes and wish him the best of luck...but I'm pretty much just done with the whole mess.

My friend thinks it's extreme, but hell, I could get a lot accomplished on Sundays from Sept- Jan in the 10-12 hrs I usually spend in front of the tube watching overpaid man-children play a game with a ball, just to earn some giant bag of douche like Chunt some extra scrill. It ultimately accomplishes nothing.

The Arrowhead I grew up with is gone. No...it's been raped.

I can invite my friends to come over and grill, and it doesn't cost $27 a car to park and $50-$100 a person to watch the game. Plus, if the football sucks, we have Redzone channel...

This isn't my team.

Disillusionment.

If Pioli is there, no way. I only make one game a year, so next year will make a road trip again. Chief's play the NFC East next year, so maybe I'll try DC or Dallas.

Nzoner 11-21-2012 06:05 AM

I voted yes because of DTV and nothing to do with KC,however, unless there are seven better games on the Chiefs will at least get a small screen.

Tribal Warfare 11-21-2012 06:15 AM

If Pioli is still here it's time to bail, because the owner doesn't give a shit. The only way the franchise will improve if it's sold to someone who cares if our worst fears take place.

007 11-21-2012 06:24 AM

I will do what I always do. Buy a ticket off stub hub when it is really cheap so I can tailgate with my friends a couple times per year. The only merchandise I have purchased in the last year was a $5 hat. I don't buy shit in the stadium unless I feel obligated to buy a beer for the person I am sitting with. CAse in point, if my STH buddy takes me to the game free of charge, I bring the beer and usually pay for one or two in the stadium as a thank you to him.

The Chiefs and the bash are pretty much my only escape from Topeka so I'll deal with the losing as long as the tailgating keeps going.
