Original Nintendo Games Rentals/Buy
I am looking to see if anyone in here that has experience in buying the original nintendo games and the system. A few questions for those who live in the KC Metro area.
What store(s) would be the best bet for me to find the original Nintendo system, remote controls, and the games? I tried to google it, but either there aren't very many of them, or I'm not doing a good job at it (this one most likely is the case) and I could use some guidance, please. Also, for those who actually own the system, would the current components work okay for a HDTV (Samsung 50" flat screen) or is there anything special that I need to buy? I'd appreciate the help. |
Vintage Stock.
The system will work except the Zapper. |
I doubt you will find much original Nintendo stuff outside of flea market/antique shops.
You will likely have to buy online. IIRC the original Nintendo used RCA cables to connect, so your tv would need those. |
You can download a Nintendo emulator and roms for free.

pawn shops.

Dumbasses.
Vintage Stock! Also, spend the extra $$ for a "top loader." They won't have near as many problems as the original front loading NES. |

Duck Hunt won't work on a flat panel TV though, sorry. |
Buy one off of craigslist... and get a new 72-pin connecter on ebay for $8, and repair it... it will be like new.

Vintage Stock is THE best place to go for original NES games. I buy tons from them. They're dirt cheap too.

Coach: Download NES games and an emulator. Attach a PC to your TV. Play. |
I'll sell you mine for eventy-billion dollars. I have original nintendo, 2 controllers, duckhunt gun, and several games.
|
I remember when I was a kid, I always had a gameboy but never a system...then my parents friend gave me their old original nintendo with literally over like 300 games. I used to play the hell out of that until I got a PS1 and never touched it again though I do miss the old classics, I always felt like I enjoyed Sega Genesis more and Super Nintendo.

The games are exactly the same. You can buy a USB game controller. |
Emulators are technically the same exact thing, except of course you get all the games for free and can play them on your computer and even use save states if you must, but there's something different about hooking the old system up and playing with the original console and controllers and carts.
