How is this game played? & did you wright those words about missions & getting the second Hershey bar? Or are they copied & pasted out of WWII diaries?

I was a member of a b17 flight crew, then rainman got bored and the war ended.

Rain Man ran the game. I think it was an old Avlon Hill game where you rolled dice to find out what happens at each stage of the mission. We all signed up for the game and Rain Man assigned us to squads and planes would roll the dice and transcribe the results of the missions in the thread. Then we would write letters out of our imaginations to add a little realism to the whole thing. It was a fun off season diversion until Rain Man abandoned us about halfway through the war. Some guys have been stuck in POW camps all this time. :shake:

I think it was a B17 bomber simulation only. Rain Man might chime in. There are simulation war games for almost anything though.

Yeah, it was only B-17s. Pretty fun. At some point I want to start it up again, but this time I might run a bunch of missions ahead of time to keep work from interfering.

Someone ought to do something about that work thing. It ruins everything.

I got to read a copy of my grandfather's flight logs and journal during the war. Very chilling and revealing.

The Zero and Me-109's were a LOT better aircraft.

My great uncle was a tailgunner in a B-24. He went down with the airplane.


I can't get over how fat "The Jug" looks. They were some big, heavy fighters.

Yes/It was under powered & out dated by 1940. Still a good looking aircraft. I love the shark nose.
Spitfire was another sexy aircraft.
My two favorites would be the P-38s & the British Mosquito. ME 262 also with its two jet engines & shark shaped fuselage. All 3 are eye candy IMO

I have always liked the P-40 with it's huge radiator intake on the front.

The 262 is absolutely gorgeous. Near perfect beauty.

Ho-229 is amazing, too.

The phosphorous bomb looks badass, that'd be totally devastating, burn the crap out of everything.

I love the Pin Up girls from that era.
