Brandon Carr

I miss you. :(

ShowtimeSBMVP 12-16-2012 06:51 PM

Yup that was a great INT.

O.city 12-16-2012 06:51 PM

Look on the bright side, we will probably get to watch Bowe do the same thing in NE or GB next year.

milkman 12-16-2012 06:52 PM

He wasn't the right 53.

KCFalcon59 12-16-2012 06:52 PM

Pioli should be fired for that alone.

ThaVirus 12-16-2012 06:52 PM

LMAO How did I know this would be a hot topic on the Planet?

JohnnyHammersticks 12-16-2012 06:53 PM

Wish we could get a CB like him in the draft....say, in the 5th round or something. That'd be cool.

lewdog 12-16-2012 06:53 PM

He wasn't part of the tanking an entire season for a #1 pick plan.

Yeah, not so much.

It was a piss poor throw by Roethlisberger.

But that really doesn't matter.

Carr is a damn good corner that Pioli just let walk.

You Geno Smith fans should be thankful that Brandon Carr is gone, if ever you think he could really have made a difference on this team.

Chief3188 12-16-2012 06:54 PM

I will always hate that we lost Carr. So what if we had to tie up some money on CB's. Considering this has become a passing league, that might have been a wise place to invest. Although having Carr might have meant another win or two this season and we are on a path of destiny that can not be stopped.

Bugeater 12-16-2012 06:54 PM

I ****ing hate Scott Pioli.

From another thread.

Dr. Johnny Fever 12-16-2012 06:54 PM

He didn't understand the game plan.

Brooklyn 12-16-2012 06:55 PM

If Carr wanted to remain a Chief he really needed to show a greater understanding of the game plan.

doomy3 12-16-2012 06:55 PM

Perfect ending to a perfect day.

#1 pick or Brandon Carr?

Titty Meat 12-16-2012 06:59 PM

I'd trade Carr for a franchise QB

Of good DB'ing anywho...

Cowboys CB Brandon Carr, with all he's been through, told me "I'm not playing for myself anymore." Got that INT for those grieving.

What was the highest we ended a season in pass defense with those 2? Just being serious here.

Third Eye 12-16-2012 07:06 PM

Carr intercepted the pass that would've lost me my semifinal. I absolutely love him right now.

Agent V 12-16-2012 07:06 PM

That move was damn near enough for me to sit out this year. But I got caught up in the damn hype. Homegrown draft steals DO NOT walk. You do what you have to in order to retain them.

I am surprised but I guess its a meaningless stat anyway, so far this year we are 10th.

Dwell on that for a minute.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/statistics?team=kc

Meanwhile we are 30th in passing with 186 a game. JFC we used to run for almost that.

The Carr situation is just easy for people to bitch about.

What's Carr worth in terms of wins? 1? Whoopdie****ingdoo

So we keep Carr and go 3-13 and all the people raging for Geno Smith would be sitting back watching Jacksonville or some other team potentially draft him.

they def top 10 at least one year, i want to say 2010. i think they were fringe top 10 in 2011 and 2009 they werent that bad, even with awful safety play

scho63 12-16-2012 08:04 PM

We let Brandon Carr go to bring in Standford Routt. How's that working out for you Scott Pioli and Clark Hunt you two clueless douchebags!!!!!

That's assuming Smith goes #1.

And you know what Crennel says about assuming.

No. Carr Would be worth way more in the long run. Plus Kansas City was supposed to be building to the draft they let 1 of the best cornerback tandems in football be broken up. ID

The Chiefs had the 2nd ranked pass coverage rating in 2010 with Carr and Flowers.

This was a very good CB tandem.

And if Pioli is retained and we do have the No.1 pick, don't be surprised if those other needy QB teams offer up the farm in picks and Pioli say's "hey this is how you build a team just like Uncle Bill and stockpile picks" !!!;)

No way I trust Pioli with the first pick:shake:

I agree especially in a pass happy division with Manning,Palmer and Rivers, let alone now a pass happy game . What the hell was Pioli thinking?:doh!:

I think if Pioli is let go it will be because of 2 big errors and that was staying with Cassel and letting Carr walk. I wonder what Clark really thought about letting Carr go ? Pioli probably had to tackle Clark in the hallway with his checkbook in hand ready to give Carr what he wanted day in and day out prior to him signing in Dallas.:banghead:

Pioli doesn't stockpile picks.

He pisses them away to move up for mid-round tight ends.

The ****ing guy couldn't run a draft if he was Bill Walsh getting a piggy back ride from Forrest Gump.

Sweet Daddy Hate 12-17-2012 10:36 AM

Keeping Carr would NOT have assured more wins. Remember; DB's don't win Championships. By that thinking, they don't **** up draft position either.

Especially with this turd-whacking team.

Letting Carr fly = Mistake.

Exactly - and it went against one of the so called new foundations of the franchise, which was buillding through the draft. BIG MISTAKE along with EVERYTHING else.

Garcia Bronco 12-17-2012 12:52 PM

With PFM coming into the division...I wouldn't waste money on corners either.

We actually DID waste money on corners. We signed Stanford Routt, dropped a few million, and then dropped him inexplicably because he missed a bed check.

MagicHef 12-17-2012 01:01 PM

Maybe if you guys get rid of some other talent you can get the #1 pick next year, too.

The inevitable loss of Pioli, Crennel, Cassel, and Quinn will be enough to overcome the loss of any talent left on the 2-14 2012 Chiefs.

Bowe and Albert? Pffft. Give me a franchise QB with a coach who's vocabulary expands beyond "I don't know" and I won't even remember their names.

Sure, lets go ahead and release every other decent player on the team – Luke Joeckel or Star Lotulelei will be here next year to save the franchise!!!

O.city 12-17-2012 01:06 PM

One of Albert or Bowe will be back, and both, IMO, will be.

The Yep Comptroller Counted Out 744 Yeps on this deal right here.

Although, if your team's payroll is over-brimming with quality players, it stands to reason that, from time-to-time, you're going to have to sacrifice someone you would prefer to keep around.

Losing Carr was completely stupid ... particularly in light of the fact that Carr explicitly stated he would have preferred to stay in KC. We came "this" close (making tiny, squeezie gesture with thumb and mr. pointer) to having one of the best (if not "the" best) corner tandem in the league for a whole lot of years. There is value in that whether Pioli wants to admit it or not. Particularly when you have almost zero pass rush and your defensive line is next to useless in passing situations. His "justification" that he didn't want to upset Flowers is nonsensical and laughable on its face.

There were other cases as well, though. I have no doubt that Pioli wanted to rid himself of Gonzo and Waters simply because, as veterans, the young players would listen to and be influenced by them when they bristled at Dr. Evil's insanity. Apparently, we can only keep players around who do not salivate excessively whist kissing the ring.
