ONE more banner

I really feel like SOC needs to consider flying one more banner......at the home opener next year, and have it say something like "CLARK, NICE JOB." or something along those lines. Clearly he saw that the fans were upset, so we should come up with a way to show him that we're glad he's listening to the fan base.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-04-2013 01:15 PM

ShortRoundChief 01-04-2013 01:17 PM

I wonder if they'd let fans in with cardboard signs with that printed on it.

Not bad.

Look, the fan base is on the list of reasons why this happened but there are tons of other reasons why outside of SOC or any organized frustrated fan movement movement.

1. Scott Pioli's W-L record
2. Scott Pioli's personnel decisions like leaving the club with no viable QB.
3. 2-14
4. No wins in the AFC Conference for the first time EVER
5. No sell outs and diminishing attendance
6. Merchandise sales bottoming out
7. Being the butt of many jokes and a complete embarrassment within the league and outside of the league.

Lots of reasons why this was going to happen whether or not SOC existed. They may have sped things up slightly but it has to do with $ and being embarrassed with the product on the field more than any banner flying in the sky.

I will agree with all of those points, but you can't deny that having most of your fanbase rebelling against your team, is also considered a precursor to what happened.

Sure but the empty seats had been increasing for months if not years. SOC started in, what, October?

SOC was A factor but hardly the factor and I doubt even the straw that broke the camel's back.

So a group that begged for certain things to happen is wrong to show appreciation for those things happening, whether it was because of them or not... ok...

Not at all. But I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. They've just hired a coach...

they haven't done anything else worth thanking them for yet. Well besides ditching Pioli which was a complete no brainer to everyone outside of One Arrowhead Drive.

Mr. Arrowhead said it best, show Clark that we're not just whining and bitching. Andy and a new GM could come in and things could be just as bad, we wanted the opportunity for change, and we have it.

They've done two major things SOC wanted. A new GM and QB are coming as well... also no brainers. The whole idea is preliminary anyway since THIS season isn't even over yet, let alone next years home opener being here. I think it's a nice idea. Of course we'll know more in time. Duh.

I remember this same excitement four years ago....:hmmm:

Go ahead and be excited but remember once bitten, twice shy. Just know that getting the 'popular' or most 'sought after' guy does not always equate to the best team on the field. We've been there, done that.

"We" wanted change. "We" got change and will get more. That's the point.

Thanking a guy for making a business decision which will likely make him more money and save his crumbling product and one he was likely going to make anyway seems silly.

You can't but should there be a thank you for doing the obvious thing? All he has done is remove the cancer. The healing has yet to begin. We have to see what comes next.

He has a history of throwing money at the most attractive guy available and then washing his hands of the situation. He's pledged to change. Let's see if he does before we give him our total faith and trust.

I'm focused on the now. The now is that Clark went and got a guy who has more playoff wins then the entire franchise has in its long existence. For a fan of a team who has had their ass handed to them for a while now, this gives me hope again. I'm not looking to pick it apart, I'm celebrating. There'll be plenty of time for Monday morning quarterbacking on Monday.

I just think it be nice for Clark to see that SOC isn't all negative. Maybe SOC should go a more private route instead of a banner. Send some sort of plaque with a positive message to Clark and declaring the end of the SOC movement.

He might throw it away, but it be a nice gesture............. Who knows maybe down the road we see an interview with Clark and it's hanging on the wall. How cool would that be?

IratePrimate 01-04-2013 02:19 PM

scratch the plaque........... Just a letter to Clark from SOC personally signed by all that was involved. I think that would be a nice touch.

No, the movement should continue but go from 'saving' to 'supporting' that way the SOC stationary can still be used. :)

I think he should be congratulated and celebrated but he has also made some promises to change things and I think these are good FIRST STEPS. Let's see what else comes down the pike before we get all giddy and school girl crushie...

whoman69 01-04-2013 04:27 PM

Banner should read, "The job is almost done, draft a QB."

ROYC75 01-04-2013 04:31 PM

It's simple, we draft a # 1 QB, simply put, Thank You, Clark!

No # 1 QB, simply put, Job's not finished, we need a QB !

Strongside 01-04-2013 04:32 PM

I think the banner should say: "Clark, thanks for everything. We're glad you finally realized what we knew all along...that Scott was a rat bastard. Now that things are good again, we'd really appreciate it if you could lower these ****ing parking prices. We promise we'll buy lots of merchandise and hot dogs. SaveDourchiefs.com."

I realize we probably need a 757 to pull this thing...

Actually I think this is a Fantastic Idea, possibly the best Idea Denise has never had.

We should throw a party to welcome Reid and thank Clark. Introduce Andy to the experience of arrowhead tailgating and have a party. You could get the word out via the SOC page and I'm sure you could get permission from the org. to use the parking lot for a welcome home tailgate.

If I wasn't so far away I'd be all in on this.

Nobody is "wondering what SOC thinks".

I hope we contributed to this front office turn of events (and I think we did a smidge), but the 2-14 did most of the heavy lifting.

Entities that don't exist anymore do not need to send a positive message banner.

It's navel gazing. It's self promoting in a way that's not necessary, and (relatively) expensive.

You want to send a message as a fan? Make a sign. Buy tickets. Pledge your undying love on facebook.

Get a really elaborate Chiefs tattoo with palm leaves on your chest. One that looks a bit scary when uncolored and may or may not be better when finished.

Lots of ways to support the Chiefs. Don't need a banner.

We were something. Now we're nothing, and it's better that way.

Donate that wad of cabbage.

Boise_Chief 01-04-2013 07:14 PM

I'm not in your town...:p

After this year of total fail any positive is great, but more importantly is the effort that is being made to make changes. I am a fan of this team and if the organization is TRYING to do better I am going to support them. I realize this post makes it seem like I care about your opinion but in reality I am so happy that there is positive movement in the right direction. Pioli almost made me quit being a fan and I'm happy that he is gone.
