Reid addresses the fans
http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center...9-a5503d4681ab
I'm sure this was posted in another thread, but it is interesting. I don't remember them doing this with Haley or RAC. It is exciting and man.. great PR. |
You can tell that Reid is excited, man.
|
How do you guys keep getting him in a suit?

Damn it, I'm excited.
The more and more I read and hear, Reid seems to fit here better than anywhere. More so than some East coast assfart who thinks he knows it all. |
Not at all. I'm 5'7" 280. He's got nothing on me. In 14 years I've never seen him in anything from a tailor. And I'm pretty sure the presser suit was beige. This one looks more gray.

These, and generally how Reid spoke at the press conference with Clark about the 'Sea of Red' are really awesome. I'm pretty sure they aren't *completely* unscripted and unprompted. But they are super-exciting. If I got an offer for season tickets after watching Reid talk about Arrowhead rocking, Len Dawson, and Derrick Thomas... not sure how I couldn't open my checkbook. And in no way is this meant to be critical... it's just REALLY well done... I've literally already fallen in love with Reid. Well, not literally. (In case my wife reads this...) |
I missed this one so thanks for posting.
I know there are some that are skeptical or don't like the hire at all, but I feel like we are in great hands. This is the best I have felt about our future since Peterson and Marty came to town. I know Reid is going to work his ass off. It's been a while since we've had a coach with the work ethic and know how. I just want to be excited about football, and play in some big games. I miss that. |
The PR blitz is absolutely about getting the fans back in the stands, and for good reason. The crowd was a major reason for the home dominance of the 90's teams. But the team has to feed into the crowd as much as the other way.
I am not in KC, but man oh man, if I were back home I'd be there every home game. I think the Chiefs are going to still need to draft a young QB to seriously jack up excitement, but I really hope when I turn on the TV next season, the announcers aren't lamenting how great Arrowhead "used to be." |

Um...not to be a pisser but Mitch said Reid brought the Eagles here in 2001 and 2005...perhaps I misunderstood but Reid remembered Derrick Thomas being an animal and sacking their QB at least 5 times...I know Derrick was awesome, but I didn't think he could pull that off from the grave...maybe I misunderstood...
|
Oh wait, he's referring to his time with the Packers...forget it...move along...

Well, if nothing else, actually letting players, coaches and the owner address the fans is an improvement.
I'm already getting as excited for 2013 as I was apathetic this year. I think this fan base is like someone who has been chopping wood in the timber with crosscut and axe for a couple of days and forgot their lunch........and walking across the field to the house, you can smell the food. You're so hungry, you can smell every spice and every dish from half a mile away. That's how hungry this fanbase is for some really good coach cooking. |

It is so wonderful hearing Coach Reid speak to the fan base! We have been horribly neglected by Pioli on many levels. You show the fan base you care, they will come out in droves being extremely loud/passionate! Winning ball games help a lot also of course.
You could see in Coach Reid's eye he is pumped and ready for the challenge! |
