Dorsey Says Chiefs Will Pick Best Player Available - Not Necessarily A Quarterback???
Sorry if this was posted already but I didn't see it.
Your new GM says that the Chiefs will pick the best player available, but it might not be a QB WTF? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...a-quarterback/ |
Is there a problem?

Hmm...I wonder if dude is aware that we literally don't have a competent QB.

Oh Goody!!! Another Thread about this crap. (Logs off until April)

Maybe he's gonna trade for one or get one through FA. |
Sweet i hope he trades for Ryan Mallet. Our 2nd and 3rd should do the trick.

BPA doesn't mean the best player now.
By then, it could very well be Smith. |
i just saw a (way early) mock draft having the Cards get Smith
 |

Scott Wright from NFLdraftcountdown.com on Twitter. Mini Chiefs rant.
I don't understand the thought-process of KC fans who want take Joeckel at #1 and let Branden Albert walk as a free agent. How big of an upgrade would Joeckel be over Albert? Not much short-term and the o-line is the least of KC's problems. And it REALLY doesn't make sense to re-sign Albert to a huge young left tackle contract and move him inside to guard. Also, moving Albert inside to guard would displace Jeff Allen or Jon Asamoah, who were both recent Top 100 picks. Not an ideal situation for KC but they are going nowhere without a quarterback and they have their pick of the litter. There is no sure-thing like Luck or RG3 so Kansas City needs to decide on the QB they like most and pull the trigger. Finally, for KC fans who want to wait until early Round 2 for a QB keep in mind that is where Andy Reid took Kevin Kolb. |

That's ok. We can get him fired, too.

He better draft a qb. All hell will break loose here, the board might explode. The Syrian uprising will look like a mickey mouse deal compared to this board on draft day.

What are you going to do if Dorsey doesn't draft a QB #1? Fly some more planes? |

I'm sure Texans fans would love to give you Matt Schaub right now. But he's still a Matt... |

I'd like to hear a KC reporter ask Andy Reid a question, if someone can pass this one on to one of them:
At what point did you know you were gonna take McNabb with the 2nd overall pick in 1999? |
I feel confident Reid will know that we can't move forward with Cassel at the helm. Reid will select a QB to target, hopefully in the draft and if he feels we can get the one he wants at #5 or so then thats all the better because then we'll get another pick so we can virtually say we will be getting a WR or CB thrown in for free.

Just for Boss.
Andy Reid said yesterday that his IDEAL is to have a guy here that he can mold from day 1. He gave all the other standard coach speak - you don't reach, you take BPA, etc. But first and foremost what he wants in a QB is somebody he can mold into his system. |
from what i understand, Dorsey is a hardcore BPA guy.
I assume that he also puts added weight to certain positions but i haven't heard it yet. |

What the hell are you expecting him to say? We haven't even had the combine yet. "yeah, we're drafting a QB, probably Geno, but we'll see".
We'll pretty much know who we are getting a couple days before the draft, since the #1 pick always agrees to a contract pre-draft these days |

Matty C is just horrible. It stumps me as to how we all got through that diarrhea stink for 3 plus seasons with only one player getting killed. JFC they are lucky 10 players didn't go postal. And the fans -- at least no reports of fans killing each other that I know of. Rest In Hell captain missedabarn. Geno. He's got tools. He can thread the needle from 45 yards away. He doesn't melt when things go wrong. He doesn't go full reerun. Has a bit of a temper, but seems coachable. I like a QB with some fire. He doesn't say stupid shit when things suck for him. That is our guy come april. |

We got our QB. The rest is just bullshit. Dorsey's definition of BPA is just the Packer version of the right 53. It's flexible and loose in special circumstances, such as when you're starting off a 2-14 team that has ZERO QBs on the roster. |
