Vick: 1 year deal with Eagles
Pro Football Weekly@ProFootballWkly
Per @AdamSchefter, the #Eagles have re-signed QB Michael Vick to a one-year deal for 2013. Pro Football Weekly@ProFootballWkly RT @RapSheet: Chip Kelly says his QBs Vick & Foles will have an "open competition." Says, "In this league, you gotta have two." |
YES!
As I predicted. |
Thank God.

And there was much rejoicing.
Now, all we have to do is resign Albert, watch Alex Smith get traded to Arizona, and then we can all put away these ridiculous mock drafts that have us not taking a QB. |
Wheww

Well I guess Philly will suck again this year.
|
Would have been better if this was news about Alex Smith being traded to someone other than us...
I did NOT want Vick...but if we were going to end up with a retread vet...I'd rather have Vick than Smith. |
Alex to the Jets.
Get your foot on it, Rexy! |

I see Cleveland being Smith's landing spot. |
Thank god.

Setting the over/under on weeks in before he misses a start due to injury. Week 4. What you got? |
Sweet. One less thing to worry about.

Mike Vick's deal with the Eagles for 2013 can be worth up to $10M. Was to make $15.5M previously. Should be good fit with Chip Kelly. |

In for Vick blowing up at Chip Kelly on the sideline.

Does this mean Foles is going to be available?
I mean if we're going to F this up and not draft a QB high, I'd rather it be Foles over an Alex Smith or Matt Flynn. I know I know. It's the ole "would you rather" game. |
How old is vick 33 34? How is a qb whos only completed 60 percent of his passes once in his career a good fit for anyone?

Had Vick returning to PHI in 1/31 QB predictions. The rest: AZ/Glennon, BUF/Nassib, CLE/Mallett, JAX/Geno, KC/Alex, NYJ/Flynn. Cassel to NE. |
****ing Christ........Geno goes #2 to Jax....but we're going to go with another reeruned retread QB. I hate the media.

..and eventually signed him to a 63 million dollar deal. |

How many coaches has Vick gotten fired in his career?

Watching the NFL clip on Bowe earlier on good fits for FA WRs. Baldinger said Minn while McNabb said the Jets. Yes... the Jets. |

The Eagles board is in turmoil.
They are calling themselves the "Philadelphia Bengals". |

I just don't see Foles as having been drafted by Reid with the plan to groom him for the future. First of all, Reid had lost his final say in the draft process, and it certainly seemed like the bloom was well off the rose before this last year of his in Philly.
I have a hard time believing that Reid was banking on Foles or had long-term plans for working with him. |

Chip Kelly can do well with Vick. I won't be surprised if Vick starts if he surprises.

Thank goodness

May not even make the opening day roster.
$3.5 M signing bonus paid by 15 April $500k roster bonus $3.5 M salary $500 k for 50% playing time $1 M for 90% playing time $1 M for Super Bowl win So the Eagles are only in for $3.5M and can cut him in camp. |
Alex Smith seems so Buffalo to me.
|
Outstanding!

I'd like to make 3.5 and do absolutely nothing. Would fund my dog fighting operations. |

He's better by a long shot than Cassel/Quinn and would be a happy #2 in a system like Reid's at this point in his career. He's got good starting experience in the league, would come relatively cheap and gives the Chiefs a very good scout team/opposition QB in practice. |
