It looks like they are calling for upwards of a foot of snow from Wed night until Thursday night. Let the panic and mad rushes to Wal-Mart begin.

6-12" predicted in Topeka.

This weather is bad for the hardwood floorin' bidness.

People in the midwest panic like a mfer about snow, completely forget how to drive etc.

I really started noticing it after moving back from alaska.

Come to Nashville where the threat, not actual snowfall just the threat, of snow will shut the schools down.

I think that's happened here once or twice, and I swear there's a correlation between cloudiness and traffic.

I can work from home, so don't even care any more... during the first snow this year (a couple inches), I noticed Google maps said my 7-10 minute commute would take 28 minutes, which was all I needed to stay home.

6-12 right now for the KC area. Icey mix a bit to the south and over a foot closer to NE is predicted, but that can all change pretty quick.

The panic rate is correlated to the area's ability to adequately remove the snow. Places like central Texas don't even have snow plows and ways to remove it, so it just magnifies the risk.

I just read we are supposed to get 3 inches with rain turning into snow. That doesn't sound too awful? :shrug:

We're supposed to get 6-12 inches here in Flagstaff, AZ on Tuesday into Wednesday. My wife is getting 15-20 inches nightly.

Please just make it rain...don't need that slick crap I'll be out and about all day Thursday and my kids have missed a ton of school already.

I hit the liqour store first. There's enough food in the freezer to sustain, and hell, the snow provides water. The Coleman lantern and stove is good enough for the other basics.

No matter how bad it gets, at least it won't ever be this bad...

They've been lowering the totals for metro KC all day. Looks like this may be a bust for us. Central KS and Nebraska are going to get dumped on though.

Yeah, it looks like snow totals are down, but we are moving into that damn icy mix range.

I'm actually trying to get a bunch of N put down before the moisture. Going to be a long night.

"Supercast" is predicting almost 18" in Manhattan. We haven't had a snow like this in a long time (if it pans out).

I haven't had one for over 10 years. I was able to use my one from my previous job the last couple years but I doubt they'll let me borrow it again since I don't work for them anymore.
