NFL Combine thread
We need a place to discuss things like Chance Warmack only weighing 317lbs.
|
NFLN for coverage, correct?
|
Si. Although right now twitter is more on top of it.
Today is weigh ins. |
Meh NFLN is kinda worthless right now. Got that NFL AM show on and all they want to talk about it Revis and Shermans little pissy match.
Twitter is the way to go for now. |
Yeah. I watched a couple of minutes of NFL AM; didn't care about their discussions.
Guess it's time to play a little 360 on this shit day. |

Seems people are a little disappointed with Warmacks weight in.
|
317 is a little light for a power guard, and you know he's probably as big as he has ever been. I don't think it would affect my evaluation of him, however.
|
I don't knwo a whole hell of alot about OL, but would Warmack fit a ZBS?

Lol wamack is awesome but not a LT baring injury he is potential all pro guard. Still don't draft him number one. If you wanna go that route we should talk to rams and get their 16th and 23rd pick.
|
We really need geno to go off in this combine. One it makes him viable for our pick. Two it makes someone that will fall in love with him and trade us multiple picks.
|
no too geno .. sorry folks .....

@DannyParkins: Mort put the #Chiefs trading for Nick Foles at "50/50" and assumed it would take a 3rd round pick.
Also said, The Niners aren't releasing Smith. They only have about $9.5M tied up in their QB's so they can afford to wait for a trade suitor. Mort also said he for one hasn't completely ruled out the idea of the Chiefs drafting Geno with the first pick. |
Andy Reid will be on the set on NFLN today sometime on their show from 1-3 CST. I'll post if I hear more. Home watching.
|
Would a kid like DJ Fluker be around at 34? Should we consider him if we take Geno first?

Just heard DeAndre Hopkins ran a 4.48 this year at Clemson and hopes to get closer to 4.4.
God I hope he doesn't break 4.4. That happens and he's a first round pick. |

When is Justin Hunter being projected to go?

Jarvis Jones is not participating at the combine.
Let the slide begin. |

Read today reason for Jones not participating is they were afraid his measurables and his workout numbers wouldn't impress.
Talk about a copout. |

Not sure he needs any other reasons to drop and skipping the combine isn't helping him much. |

Bryan Broaddus @BryanBroaddus
Jonathan Cooper OG North Carolina just did 35 reps at 225. That was his goal yesterday.' Impressive. Wish we could get this on the forum instead of in draft planet. |

This thread title has absolutely ZERO asterisks. FAIL. FAIL. FAIL.

Sooo.....?

I'm guessing Joeckel is in the second group of lineman?

Who gives a crap about Teo. Screw the media.

Joeckel #27, third group

Joeckel coming up

Mayock said Warmack was the best football player in the draft. What a clown and a hack. How can anyone take anything he says seriously? Where is Barrett Jones!?

Like the dual camera option on nfl.com |

I posted it in another thread but it warrants repeating. Quote:

Bob Dole wants to see Terron Armstead pulling to block for JC, just once.

Quit blowing smoke up the misinformed fans a$$ Hes doing a dis service to his audience IMO. |

It was funny to hear Brian Billick after that, totally patronizing Mayock - "you're one of the best in the business, I really mean that, but..."
ROFL |
Eisen is STILL going. ROFL
As Warmack is finishing his 40, Eisen says "In the common era, no guard has ever gone #1 overall. The highest they've ever gone is #3." And EVERY guy he listed was in the ****ing 1970's! ROFL |
Now hes trying to backpedal on Womack just a tad after Eisen is basically calling him out and Womacks run times were slow. ROFL
"This is who he is...hes a lineman" Well no sh*t dumbass |
Wetzel for the Jags!
|
Mayock just said it. Johnny football made Joekel better than he is. No thanks.
There is no cant miss prospect in this draft. QB it must be. |

Appearantly Jarvis jones meds didn't go well and se teams have taken him completely off their board
|
This bench press test is ****ing bogus.
They're allowing guys to lift their butts off the bench, thus using their legs with the lifts. That's bullshit. |

They were letting guys get away with absolute shit form, and this is from someone that knows nothing more about lifting than what I was taught 15 years ago by a HS football coach. |
Mayock just doubled down on his Warmack argument.
Ugh...this is just dumb. |

It was crazy when I went off to college and saw all these guys "squat" 315, yet their form was complete shit: They were using their backs, not breaking 90, etc. And the guys that bounced the bar off their chests and used their legs were even more abundant. All that said, I'm really shocked that the NFL allowed those lifts. They would not have counted at my high school so it's shocking it's allowed at the Combines. |

Eifert looked damn good. Not only were the results strong, but he made it look easy. The shadow-cam of him and Ertz both running the 40 was interesting, Eifert looked like he was cruising as he was pulling away while Ertz appeared to be struggling for the time. It just made Eifert look like a much more natural athlete.
I think he locked up a pick in the early 20s. Ertz looked solid, but I don't think he's a 'value' pick at 34 so I'd probably go with a DB still at that pick. |
Teo looks incredibly small
