Chiefs trying to restructure Tyson Jackson's contract
Bryan Brackney @bryanbrackney
Also, Chiefs GM John Dorsey confirms that the Chiefs are trying to restructure Tyson Jackson's contract. Good move. He's not an all-star by any means, but I'll take him at a small contract for a year or two while we find his replacement. |
He won't find another team that would pay him any more so he may as well sign the new contract here.
|
If it keeps us from taking a DL at 1, all about it I am.
|
give him a 1 yr deal. Cheap. Otherwise cut his ass.
|
Those 5 career sacks will be dearly missed
|
I don't have a problem with it. We've got bigger fish to fry.

It's easy take a new deal or get cut.
|
I hope Dorsey is brought back on a 1 year deal, too.
Glad to hear they are working on getting our own guys extended. Jackson is a good football player, his draft position isn't his fault. I will always wonder if he paid ***** a finders fee for it. |
Tyson will you restructure? No? Ok well...........
Pretty easy. |
Isn't restructuring just moving the money around, spreading it out? They can't make the bulk of that $14 million just go away, can they?

Shit, I clicked on that video before I realized it's a ****ing cartoon.

I'd love to see Dorsey and Jackson in a situation where their job is to try to penetrate.
Jackson and Poe as the ends and Dorsey as the nose. |
Quote:
Dorsey sucked at it in 2009 out of the nickel. Jackson sucked at it in 2012 out of the nickel. They're not penetrators. They have an incredible lack of quickness and pass rushing moves. Not to mention speed. |
Is he even worth 1/1.6?
|
hmmmmmmmm interesting
|
I wonder if Jackson could start at LSU at this point...

Yuck Dorsey is trying to win with these losers?

But but matt miller told me it was going to be impossible!!!

Chiefs and Matt Cassel, Tyson Jackson having 'ongoing conversations'
By Joel Thorman on Feb 22, 4:08p 109 Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE KC Chiefs GM John Dorsey spoke to the media at the NFL Combine on Friday and gave (non-)updates on Dwayne Bowe and Branden Albert, the Chiefs two biggest free agents. But what about Matt Cassel and Tyson Jackson? Dorsey said the Chiefs continue to communicate with them. Share Tweet The buzzword for Kansas City Chiefs GM John Dorsey on Friday was "ongoing conversations". Or "ongoing communication". Some variation of that. The Chiefs GM was asked about Dwayne Bowe and Branden Albert, who are both free agents, and Matt Cassel and Tyson Jackson, who are viewed as possible salary cap casualties by a lot of folks. Read what Dorsey said on Albert and Bowe here. And then here's what Andy Reid said about them. Let's move onto the potential salary cap casualties. When asked about Matt Cassel and Tyson Jackson, Dorsey gave pretty much the same answer. Keep reading: Andy Reid's Combine press conference On Cassel's future, Dorsey said, "Yeah, we've sat and talked. Again, it's an ongoing conversation." We all know the story with Cassel. He's due over $7 million next year and most folks expect him to get cut. I'm one of the few people who seem to think it's not a foregone conclusion that he'll be cut. The Chiefs would likely make a decision here by free agency in March. On Tyson Jackson, Dorsey said, "Right now, again, we're in communication with his representatives and we're just talking through some things." What would they be talking through? Oh, just the fact that Jackson is scheduled to be the highest paid Chief next season. There's no doubt that contract is completely out of whack and it will need to be fixed. Is Jackson willing to take the pay cut to stay in Kansas City? If he is, the question is how much. It will need to be a significant drop-off from that $14+ million number. I do think it would be in the Chiefs best interest to bring Jackson back assuming they can do so at a much lower rate. I don't like the idea of the Chiefs losing both their starting defensive ends from last season (assuming Glenn Dorsey is gone). SMH AT CASSEL TALK |
Just cut these ****ing 2 guys already so we can move on!
|
Restructure Jackson and Cassel. Let Albert go to draft Joeckel. Trade for Alex Smith. Alex Smith backed up by Matt Cassel.
Yum #offseason #itsanewday |
It would be funny just to see the faces of the "experts" if we re-signed Bowe, Albert and picked Geno number 1

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Glenn Dorsey's first step at LSU was ELITE...it's what got him drafted top five. They used both 1 and 2 gap schemes there, and when he was able to use that first step, he became a beast. I'd like to see FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL if that first step is totally gone, or if it can be resurrected in a system that could utilize it. I'd have no problem giving him a 1 year 3.5 million deal and see if he can return to the talented disrupter or he was in college. |
You're about to be told he wasn't a disruptive player in college and that he didn't have a quick initial step. Even though he was and he did.
|
so you think in Dorsey's or Jackson's entire careers playing football their who lives 20 some years, they never once were told by a coach
"hey you **** rush the passer" but rather "we just want you to stand at the LOS and hold a blocker" youre convinced, that these guys need an offseason of "attack" coaching, whatever that is, and they will just magically rub a ****ing genie lamp and do it? that is some odd logic. |
The experts would literally not know what to do with themselves. Daniel Jeremiah is the only person and Bucky brooks that believe we will draft Geno. Jeremiah said you put him in right away with this offense and should have no problems.
Remember Jeremiah used to be one of Andy Reid's scouts in |
Are Tyson Jackson and Matt Cassel the two highest paid players in Chiefs history?

Not on your life. Quit making excuses for shitty players. |

It's getting ****ing annoying. |
:DI poop on that thread after an all you can eat Mexican buffet.
I still think Dorsey has a chance to live up to his initial hype and until proven wrong without question, I stand by that. |

Please get that bloated Pioli abortion out of here... Don't even want him on a financially feasible contract
I'll take Pitoitua |
i will not take Pitoitua, because he is worse, way worse.
i dont want any of these turd d-lineman besides Poe. Purge them all, yes even that dog shit Allen Bailey. Terrible hot garbage |
im now convinced that haley went "purposeful full-reerun" to get away from scott. Especially in light of qb prospects now revealed denied.

Trying to restructure and restructuring are two different things. I just keep waiting to see he and Cassel have been given their release
|
Cool...no Star
|
A contract for what? Candy wrapper removal?
|
If "restructure his contract" is code for putting it through the shredder and telling him to pound sand, then this is great news.

lolz...quality hate.

Jackson was turning the corner with better DT play and the ability to play three downs.
I don't mind this at all. |

I want some of these Pioli cuts to be staged like public executions. Cassel, Jackson, and McCluster. Just like the French ****ing Revolution. The "leaders" of the team who enjoyed their high-priced contracts while they sat by and did nothing to help the fans and the rest of the team play out of the 2-14 garbage trap those ****tards put them into.
Arrowhead parking lot. Fans can pay $5 to get in, and all the money goes to charity. All the worthless Pioli players left who got fat ****ing contracts from that fat douche are lined up on stage. Their contracts with the number they were due this season is thrown into the fire in front of their very eyes. Then they're forced to bend over and get anal raped by John Dorsey while Baby Jack laughs at them. |
Wow, you uh....might need to take a break. And see a therapist.

DON'T YOU BELITTLE MY DREAMS

The only "turn" Jackson should make is at the corner of "I suck" and "Get The **** Out." |

But the idea that he was good or getting better is a little off to me. |
Why is Brady Quit still on this team? Why is Casshole still around? Those two were flat out terrible in Every way.
|
Action Jackson is a bust- cut him or trade him I don't care- he will rank as one of the worst picks the Chiefs ever made.

this board has gone to hell since Halfcan came back

when money is due or they have their replacement then they will be gone right now it just doesn't matter |
no brainer. he's ascending, I want to see how he plays with a new staff in charge and perhaps some new wrinkles to the existing scheme. I know folks want him gone, we'll see.

That's down from 11th in 2011. He was 32nd in 2010 and 39th in 2009. It's clear what he is: a giant shitdick made of shit in the shape of a dick. |

srsly, they aren't signing GD and it would be good to keep Ropati at RDE with Jackson on the other end. at least for now. |
Jackson was a bust as a first round pick, but he's a serviceable if unspectacular every day player in the NFL. I don't have a problem with him being signed to a league average contract if we will be retaining the same scheme.

good we have HotCarl's approval
