Now Who is the #1 Pick???

Prediction: Star Star Lotulelei

His heart issue will turn out to be nothing and the Chiefs replace Dorsey with Star.

big nasty kcnut 03-04-2013 03:17 PM

It's will be geno smith bank on it

ToxSocks 03-04-2013 03:17 PM

Geno Smith.

Setsuna 03-04-2013 03:17 PM

Star can go stick a star up his ass. Don't make anymore threads! N00B!

B14ckmon 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

Sharrif Floyd is the likely guess.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

@TJCarpenterWHB: I still expect the Kansas City Chiefs to draft Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher number one overall. But remember, the Chiefs REALLY like G. Smith

suds79 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

Hoping for Geno.

Predicting they trade down. Even if they don't get full equal value.

The Franchise 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

D. Milliner
S. Floyd
G. Smith
M. Barkely

CaliforniaChief 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

It increases the small hope that Geno is the pick, IMO.

I know I'm hoping for a 2nd LT. We'll be the first team in NFL history with a dual LT attack!

Scorp 03-04-2013 03:21 PM

The pick always has been GENO SMITH!

B14ckmon 03-04-2013 03:22 PM

If anything this means it's likely that the Chiefs have a trade partner in mind.

Direckshun 03-04-2013 03:23 PM

I think it'll be Sharrif Floyd.

Reid is almost certainly signing Sean Smith as we speak; the last huge hole on this team is RDE.

Sam backer can be drafted in later rounds.

I seriously doubt they have a trade partner. They have no leverage. All this trade down talk is just that; Talk.

ct 03-04-2013 03:24 PM

Dion Jordon

Others perhaps...

Floyd
could still take Joeckel or Fisher
Milliner

Last night I was thinking if I'm the Chiefs I'd start leaking great interest in Geno to reel in potential trade partners who are worried Oakland might draft him ahead of them. Sounds like they read my mind.

If not a trade down, this is IMO the best move. That would be bye bye T-Jax, or Dorsey. Or both.

Chiefs will try their damndest to trade down, obviously. If they must pick at #1, my guess is it is Floyd, or one of the two LT's.

Mr. Kotter 03-04-2013 03:28 PM

Trade down, for Geno (and pick back up a 2nd rounder.)

Yes! PBJ PBJ PBJ

mdchiefsfan 03-04-2013 03:28 PM

With the recent developments and the conditional pick for A. Smith being based on starting time, things are quite intriguing.

They probably won't get nominal value (draft chart value), but in this even talent draft they'll get actual value in terms of extra draft picks.

If I'm Dorsey, I would accept next year picks too. (Hello, Marquise Lee?)

Munson 03-04-2013 03:31 PM

The Franchise 03-04-2013 03:36 PM

I wonder if the Rams would want to trade up for a LT. If they sit where they're at....they'll miss out on the top 3.

OzarksChiefsFan 03-04-2013 03:38 PM

It will totally depend on if Jackson restructures or Dorsey returns. If they both walk then Floyd is the most likely pick. If they keep one or both I could see the CB or a trade down(Jets swap picks for Revis) or with Philly(Philly needs a LT).

If Alex Smith isn't signed to a bigtime extension by the time the draft rolls around, he HAS TO BE THE PICK.

BS.

Dorsey took Aaron Rodgers in the 1st when they had an established QB on the roster.

Reid Took McNabb after grabbing Pederson to be his starter in Philly.

Trading for Alex allows them to Draft Geno, develop him under Reid and Alex Smith so he's ready to go in the future and still win NOW.

They took Rodgers late in the first with their own pick...and they did not trade for Favre. That is a horrible comparison.

I think they will try to keep Jackson on a cheaper deal, but I think they will let Dorsey walk.

RealSNR 03-04-2013 03:47 PM

When Albert signs long term are you assholes going to continue to project LTs to that pick?

It's Geno or Floyd. A trade down is wholly unlikely, but all it takes is one team who wants Geno that damn badly.

It's not a comparison. It's stating that both men have drafted early round QB's just to sit them under vets while they developed, so drafting Geno can't be ruled out yet. Oh...and yeah, GB traded for Favre if you wanna be technical about it.

I'm sure Reid and Dorsey both saw how shitty the QBs on our roster are/were. They trade for Alex Smith to solidify the position and then draft one at 1.1 for the future. Maybe they really like Geno Smith....but they don't think that he can come in and instantly start the first year. They let him sit behind Alex for a year. It's not like Alex Smith is ****ing young or proven that he's a franchise QB.

Why? Most people say that you're getting the same value at #1 as you are at #25.

I hope they trade down several times and pick up not only a second in 2013, but picks in 2014.

There's just so much smoke around the "concerns about his back" rumor, that I believe they have real concerns.

Do I want them to draft a LT #1? No. But, I think you have to be kidding yourself if you believe there's no chance it will happen. They did just trade away what amounted to a mid first rounder for Alex ****ing Smith.

Not when they took Rodgers derp a derp.

That is not even remotely close to the same scenario. Favre was an aging franchise QB they already had. They did not just trade for a vet and then draft Rodgers.

I think it's more likely that they swap with Philly and get Foles in return but I just hope they trade down and gather more picks.

There are so many guys that could have immediate impact, from Eifert and Ertz to Tavon Austin and so on.

The tag gives us the option of drafting an OT NEXT year. That's the beauty of this deal. Reid gets a full season to evaluate Albert and Stephenson and doesn't have to waste valuable #1 overall draft stock on linemen that they might not want or need.
