We may get lucky, and the bulk of the rain will remain west of Detroit leading up to and during the game. Fingers crossed

Gotta love Salvador Perez. I don't recall watching a better catching prospect ever.

Hey just play another double header. You guys swept the last one ROFL

gblowfish 04-23-2013 09:04 AM

Being rained out in Detroit would Suuuuuuuck.
Nothing to do there. Culture void.

It's 59 and sunny in Detroit right now. Supposed to rain later tonight, then get colder tomorrow. They're going to get our KC weather late tonight and tomorrow.

He got skipped once already so I am not sure they would want to do that. But yes they could.

Assuming rain doesn't develop ahead of that batch around Chicago, it's be 6-7 hrs before the heavy stuff makes it to Motown.

Shit, man. Storms form out of nowhere over the great lakes. I would hate to be a weather man in that region.

I think this smilie should appear :bang:when Perez's name is typed in because he does have a hollister (sp?) for an arm.

At least Frenchy has an Aeropostale out there in right. Saves a ton of runs.

Great Expectations 04-23-2013 12:47 PM

Looks like the rain won't start until 8:30. Under might be a good bet here.

Our best chance to win was likely going to be scoring runs off their porous pen.

CaliforniaChief 04-23-2013 03:55 PM

Yeah I don't think this game is happening. That's a really wide band of rain and it's almost there already.

Strongside 04-23-2013 03:58 PM

Man this is bullshit. Get a dome you ****ing douche bags. Just more reason for me to hate the Tigers. If you play in the North, get a God damned cover for your stadium so that your'e not 8 games behind by May. ****ing pillowbiters.

Plus they have OTC pain-killers.

Deberg_1990 04-23-2013 04:01 PM

How long before they call it? Maybe they can just delay it by 2 or 3 hours? Would they do that or just cancel it? This sucks.......for the first time in years, im actually looking forward to Royals games.

If it looks like the rain will subside within a reasonable amount of time, they'll start the game at 8 or 9 if they have to.

Royals - 10
Opponents - 7
Bad guys - 1
Mommy Nature - 1

As opposed to Phoenix...where it never rains. YET THEY HAVE A ****ING ROOF BECAUSE IT'S HOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE POSTPONED GAMES. If you live in a rainforest during the month of April...build your stadium accordingly.

After all they're undefeated in doubleheaders. :)

True but the city of Detroit's a mess man. Constant construction. They'd be ****ed if they tried to add a roof to that stadium.

Bro. I'm talking about tarps. Tarps.

gblowfish 04-23-2013 04:07 PM

Salvy reminds me a lot of Sandy Alomar, Jr. I think the best catchers defensively were Bench, Pudge Rodriguez and Tony Pena. Best with the bat were Bench, Munson, Freehan, Tenace, and Fisk.

No love for John Wathan?

gblowfish 04-23-2013 04:16 PM

Wathan was the fastest catcher, best at stealing bases. But he didn't have the arm or bat of these guys mentioned.

Darrell Porter was probably the best catcher prior to Salvy, although Sundberg was very good too.

Nightfyre 04-23-2013 04:17 PM

Wathan was really fast, for a catcher. /Fever
