New TE... Old one was broken
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profil...lce?id=2540258
OVERVIEW In high school, Kelce was a three sport star, but his best sport was always football. He was a three-year letter winner at quarterback, and earned All-Lake Erie League honors after totaling 2,539 yards of total offense and 31 total touchdowns as a senior. Kelce’s uncle Don Blalock played football at Purdue and grandfather Don Blalock played football at Ohio. Travis is the younger brother of former Cincinnati Bearcats and current Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. In his first year on campus, Travis redshirted. In his redshirt freshman year, Kelce participated in 11 games as the tight end. He caught one pass for three yards. Kelce also played some quarterback, strictly in a Wildcat role. He logged eight carries for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Kelce did not play in 2010, as he was suspended for a violation of team rules. Upon his return in 2011, Kelce caught 13 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. In his senior season, Kelce put himself on the NFL prospect map, as he caught 45 passes for 722 yards and eight touchdowns. He was selected to the All-Big East first team for his play. ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Kelce has an ideal tight end frame. Athletic for his size, with great strength, and the ability to stretch the field vertically. Very physical run blocker, generates power from the lower half, and will move defenders off the ball. Plays with leverage. Wide catching radius, can adjust and make the difficult catch. Tough to bring down after the catch. Light feet, and has lined up in numerous different positions. WEAKNESSES Suspended for an entire season for violating team rules. Only one season of production. Doesn't have blazing speed. Not a tremendously explosive athlete. Doesn't come out of his breaks all that well. NFL COMPARISON Rob Gronkowski BOTTOM LINE Kelce has been a tremendous run blocker throughout his career for the Bearcats, but really elevated his game as a receiver in his senior season. He isn't a tremendous athlete, but he does a lot of things very well. It's a deep tight end class, but Kelce's play suggests that he should be highly sought after. |
New Chief TE Travis Kelce
Anybody know anything bout him ?
|
**** this team
|
**** this draft.
Bring on the ****ing banners SOC |
Solid player. Good receiver and blocker as well. Played all over the line, split out wide, H-back.
|
I don't.. I mean... why?
|
Andy Reid drafted his brother a year or two ago. Is currently the starting center for the Eagles.
He's got good bloodlines. He's talented. He's just not Matt Barkley. Which I hate. |
who gives a shit
|
Holes at DT, OG, ILB and Dorsey drafts a 3rd string TE. Wonderful.

Daniel Jeremiah
@MoveTheSticks: Kelce is a stud! He will be great for the KC running game. He can collapse his side of the line. Best blocking TE in the draft. #Chiefs |
Never heard of it.

Stupid ****ing team.
We just signed Anthony Fasano this off season. We have Moeaki. Those are both guys that average 400-600 yards a season. And we spend the first pick of the 3rd round on another one? Sad. |
He is compared to Gronk. No...we couldn't use a guy like that.
|
@TJCarpenterWHB: Travis Kelce - most scouts compare him to Rob Gronkowski.
|
I'm going to Las Vegas.
Walking into Rick's pawn shop. And getting ****ed up the ass on national TV, selling my official Pro Football HOF football signed by Len Dawson for $10. |
i dont know man

Compare him to Gronk's off-field habits maybe.

Everyone should know by now we are trying to build the team around the TE position.

How bad do you have to **** up to be suspended for a season?
|
I hope both of his ACL's burst.

We take this ****stick at TE. You think this is good? Really? |
Andy's Philly scouts had this guy pegged last year
he was rehabbing/getting surgery on a sports hernia in Philly http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-travis-kelce/ played injured all last year, most scouts project him as a STARTING NFL TE. (what does that say about Tony Moeaki/Anthony Fasano.) We can run two TE sets, but 3 is useless. Who is the odd man out? |

Great well that is nice. |

I have decided drafting BPA is stupid.
|
I like it, I mean look at his 2012 season, 45 catches for 722 and 9 td's. with 83 and 78 yard td's. Could be a nice strong, TE.
|
Yeah, but Andy used to coach his big brother. Nepotism...
|
Does this place have a reaction to anything the Chiefs do anymore other than "OMG WHY ARE THEY THE STUPIDEST FRANCHISE EVAR??///1/1????"

Like it or not, we aren't drafting a QB. |
Neither Fisher or Kelce were bad picks.
But they weren't investments at the most important position. By the time we make one, one of the best prospects in this draft (Barkley) will be off the board. I full expect the Chiefs to invest in Tyler Wilson in the next two picks, however. |

We passed on a good QB in the third round. That's assinine. |
Lot of dumbfucks on this board now... Their brains are fried from the last 5+ years! Never happy, just b*tch!!!
|
don't worry guys, we'll get Landry Jones in the 4th for sure!

Some would rather draft a QB to sit the bench the next few years than a TE that will most likely play a lot this year. |

he is evaluated and projected as a starting TE. It's just the logic of Fasano and Moeaki. One of them is dead in the water because this guy is taking a guaranteed roster spot/starting position no matter if you like the pick or not. The irony of just a couple years ago TRADING UP for Tony Moeaki and then cutting him/3rd string. That's why this team is bad. |

Most Chiefs fans would of been thrilled with a back up punter. One can only take losing for so many years before they completely lose it. If we are going to take a chance on a risky player why not just pick Tyron Mathieu? |

Seems like a good player. Surprising pick, but at least he's talented as ****.

1st 3 rounds . A starting OT , a starting QB and a starting TE.
Solid work by our management. **** you all ! |
Some of you are beyond stupid. At this point if you don't realize that Alex Smith is Reid's guy then just stop caring. You have him and Chase Daniel, like them or not, that are your #1 and #2 QB. You are not going to draft a #3 QB with the first pick in the 3rd round.
Jesus Christ you draft a (potential starting) QB this year people are idiots. Not happening under this regime - DO YA GET IT YET??? A 3rd QB later in the draft is the best you can hope for. WR/DE next pick. Maybe another Lineman. Then you can have AZ QB or Duke QB that you can dream of starting for the next 4 years. |

Would you rather take a chance on a blocking TE or on a linebacker that can play next to DJ? Or hell, even a runningback to spell Charles. |

What the hell are Geoff Schwartz, Jeff Allen, Jon Asamoah, and Dontari Poe then? |

I don't hate the pick. They aren't taking Barkley. They obviously don't like him. I don't think Fasano or Moeaki = TE covered. I'll be surprised if Moeaki plays 8 games this year.

Argh why is everyone so mean to this team just because they haven't won a playoff game in 20 years??!?!?

(Chiefs take the best player available) OMG THE CHIEFS ARE SO STUPID FOR NOT DRAFTING TO FILL AN IMMEDIATE NEED!!! My issue is that ChiefsPlanet's value as a source for good Chiefs news and discussion is rapidly falling. It's nothing but bitching and unsubstantiated posturing anymore. Anyway, carry on with the bitching. People seem to love it I guess. |
