This likely will be Shields' fourth straight start of not going 7 innings, after going 7 or more in 9 of the previous 10.

I'm not going to rail on JS because there are a lot of games he very-much well enough to win, but the more I see the less I'm sold that he's all that and a bag of chips. He's good, and could start on many MLB teams, but he seems to struggle as much as many other pitchers who carry far less star power.

And I'm further frustrated with how we're frequently reminded that most player on most teams can put a pitcher's "mistake" over the wall, yet we seem to ba happy with warning tracj power.

Either way, let's go get some more and win this...

I used to think the same thing...I'm sure his star-power would keep that going, but as poor as the offense has been in supporting him he's shown flashes of being average. I'm not saying he's not good, he is, but I'm not sure he's an A+ - I'm thinking he's a B+ or A- these days.

I hope he proves me wrong...
