****Official Royals vs. Oakland Ass 7/5 Game Thread****

First game of the toughest series we've had so far

Davis (4-6 5.55 ERA) vs. Milone (7-7 4.17 ERA) on the mound

gblowfish 07-05-2013 03:06 PM

It's salute the A's night. Everybody raise your right hand and SALUTE!

gblowfish 07-05-2013 03:16 PM

I having my pals Gary and Brad come over for BBQ and to watch the game. Today I've been slow smoking ribs, chicken and turkey, beans with little bits of brisket in them, and all the other goodies that go along. We will drink many beers and curse the evil, worthless Oakland Asses.

Ceej 07-05-2013 03:19 PM

C'mon Wade.

You piece of shit.

I can't wait until the Browns have their "salute the Ravens night."

It'll be a fun time.

BlackHelicopters 07-05-2013 04:14 PM

A's suck ass. Pitch well, Wade. Please.

Another positive sign: Alex Gordon is taking batting practice.

Yes. He passed concussion tests and is cleared to play.

http://fox4kc.com/2013/07/05/alex-go...ed-concussion/

I guess that means as soon as his hip is ready, he'll be back in the line-up. Perhaps he can even pinch hit?

That's fantastic news. That means he'd avoid the 15 day DL, even the 7 day DL for the concussion.

We can get by without Gordon for a game or two, but it CANNOT be prolonged. I know he got a lot of shit from us in the past, especially with the "Alice" stuff, but he sure as hell came a long way.

Get well soon Alex, we need you back healthy.

lewdog 07-05-2013 05:51 PM

Here for the ass raping we are going to lay on the A's.

Well maybe not tonight with Davis pitching....but at least tomorrow and Sunday!

lewdog 07-05-2013 05:51 PM

And something about the A's just makes me cringe.

Oh yea, they're from shitbag Oakland.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:06 PM

Gordon's available for this game.

And before that, they were from .....here.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for the A's. I shouldn't. But I do. If Charlie O. hadn't moved them after the 67 season imagine the teams/players/history we would be discussing. Three consecutive WS champions and some of the greatest players of that generation. And those ****ers had flair. The unis, the mustaches...they were awesome.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:11 PM

Strikes, dammit!

Coach 07-05-2013 06:12 PM

K.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:14 PM

Sit your ass down.

C3HIEF3S 07-05-2013 06:14 PM

Great first inning for Davis!

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:14 PM

Wow. Looks like we got the Dr. Jekyll version of Davis tonight.

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:15 PM

That was a really fun inning to watch.

Dartgod 07-05-2013 06:15 PM

Great start for Wade. Hope he can keep it up.

Campy Campaneris was my first favorite baseball player. Davis looked good in the first

Coach 07-05-2013 06:19 PM

Escobar....

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:19 PM

Why is Esky still in the two hole? Goddammit ned yost you are a ****ing joke.

stonedstooge 07-05-2013 06:20 PM

I wonder why they can't get Escobar to turn his wrists over when he swings. He's wide open every swing

Weeks on end getting more at bats than everyone but Gordon but just failing away. Just stupid!

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:23 PM

Davis's velo is way up tonight. Hmm.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:23 PM

Nasty.

3 strikeouts so far.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:24 PM

DYSON!!!

stonedstooge 07-05-2013 06:24 PM

Davis thought that was gone off the bat

C3HIEF3S 07-05-2013 06:25 PM

Nice catch Dyson!!!

Dyson with the great catch.

Toadkiller 07-05-2013 06:25 PM

Wow great Defense Dyson.

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:25 PM

Dyson when running into a wall, the preferred technique does not include stopping yourself with your head.

Alex Gordon/Bryce Harper does not approve of this message.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:28 PM

Nice. Last 10 games as a team.

.282 Batting Average.
16 Homeruns
5.6 Runs per Game.
.474 Slugging %
.344 OBP %

Dartgod 07-05-2013 06:28 PM

Detroit up 3-0 on the Indians in the 4th. What's the best scenario for that series? Split 2-2?

I would like the Indians to take the series 3 games to 1 assuming we can win two of the next three games. I personally fear the Tigers long term viability much more than I fear Clevelands.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:30 PM

Shitty inning there guys.

4 extra innings games

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:33 PM

I'm sure the Royals would prefer that the Tigers keep the division lead, simply because they play them a few times more than the Indians.

Chiefspants 07-05-2013 06:35 PM

Man, Sogard just looks like your typical coffeeshop hipster (from his gameday photo, anyways).

Coach 07-05-2013 06:35 PM

GD it.

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:35 PM

Lough that was a pretty terrible throw.

Didn't charge quite hard enough either. As an OF that shallow, if you see a guy just rounding the bag as you get to the ball....you pray he goes so you can gun him down.

stonedstooge 07-05-2013 06:37 PM

Jeffy Frenchy snickers

siberian khatru 07-05-2013 06:37 PM

Lough's D seems wildly inconsistent

Ceej 07-05-2013 06:38 PM

Two outs, Johnny.

tk13 07-05-2013 06:38 PM

Francoeur's absence already killing this team.

His lack of leadership is pretty evident on the present team.

He was off the charts on Dayton's "team chemistry" and "grit" metrics.

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 06:40 PM

Davis's pace has slowed to a crawl. Pick it up.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:40 PM

GET SOME ****ING RUNS!

Chiefspants 07-05-2013 06:41 PM

Lefty starters aren't exactly our offenses' specialty.

Dartgod 07-05-2013 06:41 PM

Game.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:42 PM

Okay, that American Taliban wanna-be is starting to piss me off....

Laugh all you want, but the stats back it up. Eat your heart out saberelectricians.

Grit+WAR - 2013
Chris Davis - 2.0
Miguel Cabrera - 3.2
Jeff Francoeur - 12.1

Coach 07-05-2013 06:44 PM

That's a pretty shitty effort there, Gia.

Wow, this was a slightly down year for Jeff. Getz was in the 15's before he was sent down.

Coach 07-05-2013 06:50 PM

WTF blue?

lewdog 07-05-2013 06:51 PM

I wasn't expecting much out of our offense with hall of famer Milone on the mound.

ROFL

Is that fGWAR or bGWAR?

Coach 07-05-2013 06:55 PM

Slick play there Escobar.

Now about your batting......

Coach 07-05-2013 06:59 PM

Reddick, please take your Jihad somewhere else, thanks.

Ceej 07-05-2013 06:59 PM

Base hit....one time?

I don't know what you guys really expect going against Milone. He has been owning all year.

tk13 07-05-2013 07:01 PM

Talk about slumping... I didn't realize Reddick was having such a down year. He had 32 HR last year. So far he's on pace for 6.

Dartgod 07-05-2013 07:02 PM

Billy needs a slump buster or something.

They should hire George Brett as hitting coach.

Since when is a plus four E.R.A sorted in the "owning" category?

We just can not hit lefty starters, especially when Billy is going through an off year.

Nightfyre 07-05-2013 07:04 PM

That curveball is sick tonight.

I see you aren't in game threads much.

It is called sarcasm relating to multiple pitchers looking like HOF pitchers against us.

petegz28 07-05-2013 07:07 PM

wow, the leadoff walk scores...go figure

TambaBerry 07-05-2013 07:07 PM

wtf was that, just leisurely run after that ball.
