So? Junior Hemingway....
Seems like the guy is quite the buzz on the twitter updates from the guys out watching training camp....
Just curious on what people's impressions are on the guy? Good or Bad- as I didn't follow him at all in Michigan, and he was rather under the radar as our 7th rounder & practice squad guy last year if I'm not mistaken? Discuss...
green shot screen capture

|
Don't know much about this guy, but he's been having a good training camp!
|
I want him and Wylie to get every opportunity to show what they've got.
|
Seems to me like he may not have burning speed, he does seem to do well with his route running and his change of direction is a + and may be a good reciever to run the double moves and stop-n-go moves?
Maybe some people that watched B1G football or Mich fans can weigh in? I'm just a bit curious because while I haven't seen him eyes on- but it does seem like everyone giving camp updates has taken notice. |
Baldwin tore up last year's training camp. Just saying.
|
Can't be worse than Baldwin.
|
He was really good in college at catching Denards crappy throws. I feel like he excelled in catching the ball in traffic. I think he sticks and sees the field some.
|
He prolly has the best hands on the team, he just to work on getting open
|
love when we picked him in the draft
Has the physical skills to achieve in the NFL imo |
I think he has the capacity to be very, very good, but he doesn't have a prototypical receiver body type. He's got more of a runningback build. At least he did at Michigan. He's definitely got gamebreaking ability, he's deceptively fast, but he'll take some coaching.

The guy has that "natural bend" you want in a contributing wide receiver.

Two things I remember most from his days at Michigan : he was an amazing downfield blocker and would fight for the ball in traffic.
|
Pessimism aside, he seemed like a good receiver at Michigan. Don't really know why he dropped as far as he did.

Hope he's better than Derrick Alexander....

Maybe he can rotate off and on the 53/PS, like DV would do with his TC WR heros.

Up in Michigan you can find several locations that fit the bill of a Clean Well Lighted Place. Kansas City isn't an arctic clime, certainly, but in the winter the precipitation rivals that of the Snows of Kilimanjaro.
|
Good size. They said he was already not rounding off his routes anymore.
Two days ago Reid stopped the entire practice just to coach him up. Lets hope. :D |

There are a lot of WR's in this league that are 6'0" or shorter. Yeah, he is a notch below Bowe and Baldwin but if he has the passion to be a great WR and works at it... His body size will not hold him back. He is plenty big enough. |
hemingway is actually really good. but at michigan he didn't really have a throwing QB. robinson tried. he improved a little in the passing game, but he just wasn't a good throwing QB and his receivers suffered for it.
this guy is gonna be very interesting to watch. wonder how he'll be in a few years. |
He's almost as good as Victor Bailey.
|
Another fine pick by Pioli.
|
Hemingway will rape faces. With New England.
|
He's Chocolate Sean LaChapelle!

Quick-twitched is an intangible

He's no Terrance Copper

Hemingway looked good in camp last year, or so I thought. Jamar Newsome also showed some promise in last year's camp...but like it was mentioned about, Baldwin looked incredible and that didn't pan out. Can't say much about this year, too many irons in the fire to sneak away to watch.

I think I mentioned that he's deceptively fast. He's a 4.5 guy that, at least in college, played like he had 4.4 speed, on the rare occasions where he had well-thrown passes to work with and an avenue to accelerate away from the defense. He made some insane catches (he had to with Denard Robinson throwing to him...), and as others have mentioned he was good in traffic and blocked well. The only thing I would wonder about is his route running, but it's more of a "they ran a shitty system, he had a shitty QB that should've been a HB, and I think he probably had shitty coaching" than a "dude can't run routes" comment. This vid shows him off pretty well: I almost think of him like he's the anti-Dex. |
Damn, he has a great sense of spacial awareness. If he can get any kind of separation, then he should be productive. Just remember that Hines Ward couldn't outrun the mascot. I'm hoping hard for this guy. I love players who have great vision.
|
Hah, very end of the video has a bottom line about Reid returning to the Eagles for his 14th season. Couple years later and now Reid is coaching him up in TC.
|
Definitely looks like he could/should be a huge contributor for this team, but until it happens I'm not going to hold my breath.
It's one thing to say, "The guy just needs to learn how to beat the press" and another thing to see him do it consistently. If it were easy, there would be Hines Wards popping up everywhere on every team nearly every offseason. |
He's no Sippio.
|
Marginally talented, "try hard" guy on the practice squad.
For whatever reason, this fan base loves irrelevant players like him. |

This is Mark Bradley's year, finally.
