No, I agree totally. There should be a common, shared cultural knowledge. For instance, I know a lot about 1940s pop culture by watching tons of Warner Bros. cartoons as a kid in the 1970s.

However, I also realize the reality is a lot of folks these days don't do that, so I went for the lowest common denominator assumption in my reply to him -- as I have seen lots of folks on CP say, "Huh, before my time" to certain references.

That would be sweet, I would be thrilled with us on top of a 3-2 split.

I wouldn't say that yet because a whole month and a half is still to be played. The way the Tigers are built, I don't see them falling back to us. As good as we were, we didn't gain and that would have been the best time to do so.

I went out on a limb earlier this year saying we shock everybody and win the division just on the hunch that Detroit would get hit by the injury bug this year. Just our luck it didn't happen, not that it still couldn't, I just don't see it now or feel it. Reality, we are on our last leg, optimistic, let's kick them in the nuts!

All we can do is go out each night, compete and win, if so all else will take care of itself.

Do or die here. The first game of this series should be telling.

It's okay. Get deep into their pen. First of all, we will crush their pen. Second of all, it wears them down for a LONG series.

Dropping one to the Marlins was acceptable. But 2? I really wish we would have won that extra innings game....
