Casey's General Store Kicks Subway's Ass
 

There's a new Casey's about a mile from where I work in JoCo.

They make subs like Subway or Goodcents. They have a ham and cheese sub, foot long (a true foot long) with all the veggies for $5. And they load it up, at least twice the meat you get at the other joints. The Goodcents out here is notoriously cheap. They slice the deli meat razor thin, and put on the smallest amount of veggies possible. They're really cheap and give you a lousy sandwich.

Casey's also makes pizza and wraps and such. Very good value for the buck.

They also have the best Pizzas on earth! I love Casey's!

I love Goodcents bread. Haven't eaten there in years though.

Casey's used to follow the Walmart model. Small towns and rural areas where they could fill a void. Now, Casey's is invading JoCo like crazy. I know of two new-ish stores. One on Johnson Drive and another on Quivira. Another one is planned for SM Parkway with more on the way.

Do they run specials? I've only seen the ads for a $13.99 large pizza.

Some of the Goodcents are better than others. The Goodcents on Noland Road in Independence makes a pretty good sandwich. The one in Overland Park near where I work is chinzy. Everyone in my office has quit going there because the sandwiches are so meager. If you ask for tomato, for example, they slice them razor thin, and try to put on the fewest possible slices to cover. And they do that with all the veggies. It's almost comical how cheap they are.

The one near where I work is on Quivira. It's brand new, nice store.

I spend a lot of time in Lexington, MO. It's a little Missouri River town about 45 mins east of KC. They have a Casey's and is the best place to get pizza there.

I have a Planet Sub pretty close by, at 75th and Quivira. It's pretty good too, but a bit more expensive.

I am a fan of Caseys pizza but they are getting a little high on themselves in the past few years. $17 for a specialty when I can get a Pizza Hut specialty for $7.

Casey's now near me. Pizza is wonderful, and they bake a nice blueberry muffin for breakfast on the go.

Crust is the most worthless part of a pizza, which you put up with only because something has to hold the toppings. If I could order crustless, I would.

Thin Crust is the correct type of crust to order for a pizza.

You're entitled to your opinion, but just know that you're probably in the 10% here that don't care about the texture or flavor of their pizza crust.

Deep-dish pizza is a carb-laden pile of worthless garbage. I would never eat that horrible style of so-called "pizza".

The crust is so good, you won't even give it to the dog.

Traditional pizza crust is thin and crispy. Thick crust is an American abomination.

To each their own. I like both. Have had some pies in Chicago to die for though. Crust is an art when done properly.

I still love Casey's breakfast pizza but eating one or two everyday for a month is NOT a good idea.

I dont know how that place is so popular. Their sandwiches have NO flavor, worst sub Ive ever had by far.

I like Caseys pizza and Im sure their subs are better then subway. Subway quality is cheap like say Quick Trip sandwiches. Which are fine for eating on the run or whatever but as far as sub shops go Subway sucks. I view Subway like I do McDonalds as in they dont exist to me. They are not options.

I ****ing hate taco "pizza" and people who like taco pizza. You're eating a preposterously overpriced taco salad without any of the stuff that makes a taco salad worth eating.

I love pork tenderloin sandwiches. we have a local store in town that fries chicken all day long and also fries the tenderloins in that grease. Might be the best tenderloin sandwich I've had.

We also have a group called the twelve tribes that have a cafe called the common ground here in town. They make ****ING AWESOME SANDWICHES. I had me a deli rose today as a matter of fact.

I'm a sad panda they are trying to relocate to Lawrence ks. I'm sure Mr blues feels the same...

used to live in Peculiar; single off-ramp for it. They had a Casey's right down the street from me. I used to hit it up after mowing the yard and grab 2 slices, bring it home and wash it down with a beer. Great pizza.

I agree. Goodcent's is a rip-off now. Used to be loaded with meat 20 years ago; now you get literally like 6 razor thin slices of meat. Jimmy John's kicks the shit out of them anyway now that they're out here.

They have the best ****ing cookies...at least the one in spring hill does. I stop in every morning to grab a coffee and always end up grabbing a cookie even if I tell myself no...

Quicktrips in the KC area have gotten really nice over the years. Stopped at one in the lees summit area a few weeks ago and was quite impressed with the variety of offerings.

No. It's not that frozen/thawed/heated stuff. Fresh made. You need to reexamine your stance on Casey's food.

when it was being put together though.
