Danny Duffy. Finally.

Oh yeah, they're pitching the left-handed soft-tosser who owned us at the K.

Minneapolis airport picked that one up on radar.

If the fence in right field wasn't 75 feet high, he'd have two homers today.

Mowing?
Are you insane???

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:15 PM

Duffy is dealing. I love his attitude. He reminds me a lot of Sabes. He had that same kind of attitude on the mound.

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:17 PM

Escobar needs to be more patient at the plate. Make this guy throw. He's got to be wearing down a bit.

Temperature wasn't bad but the humidity was horrible here at Beautiful Big Lake

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:19 PM

Too bad that ball hopped over the wall. Dyson had three easy.

He might have had a shot at home

C3HIEF3S 08-28-2013 07:30 PM

Dealing.

SPchief 08-28-2013 07:31 PM

I'd say Duffys command is pretty close to being back 100%

stonedstooge 08-28-2013 07:31 PM

Duffy gets his pitch count under control, he's going to be a monster for this team

duncan_idaho 08-28-2013 07:32 PM

Duffy looks incredible.

Backing off a tick on the velocity seems to have rounded his control issues into form.

It also looks like he is throwing more of a slurve/slider tonight than an overhand curve, and I think he has much better control of that. Changeup is plus.

When he can throw first-pitch strikes with a breaking ball, he's going to be tough to hit.

Very encouraging.

KevB 08-28-2013 07:32 PM

Too bad we probably won't have Erv next season. Duffy is a 2/3, would push Guthrie down to #4 and then you have competition for 5 spot. Duffy is really mixing speed and location really well. If he can find consistency with that combined with his stuff, he's a stud.

SPATCH 08-28-2013 07:33 PM

Duff just out there shoving

He's at 70 thru 5 innnings. That's not bad at all

SPchief 08-28-2013 07:35 PM

Punk ass rookie.

C3HIEF3S 08-28-2013 07:36 PM

Take him deep again here for that shit.

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:36 PM

Salvy ought to kick this guys ass in the parking lot.

JoeyChuckles 08-28-2013 07:36 PM

Kick his ass, sea bass.

KevB 08-28-2013 07:37 PM

That's one of the coolest things I've seen this season. Love Salvy.

Al Bundy 08-28-2013 07:38 PM

I love the fact that Rex was making excuses for the idiot Twins pitcher.

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:38 PM

Salvy is a very bad man. He's going to get better and better and better. It's been so much fun watching him this year.

stonedstooge 08-28-2013 07:39 PM

I believe that Mr. Morneau needs to see a nice high and tight fastball

Al Bundy 08-28-2013 07:39 PM

This is the only thing that the national league would be good for. That punkass bitch Albers would get drilled.

WhawhaWhat 08-28-2013 07:39 PM

Time for a dome shot.

JoeyChuckles 08-28-2013 07:39 PM

Perez had the concussion earlier this year too. He was speaking from experience.

Not when Duffy has a shutout going, he'd be tossed.

gblowfish 08-28-2013 07:40 PM

Salvy almost Charlie Browned that dude. Socks and shirts and shoes flying...

duncan_idaho 08-28-2013 07:40 PM

What I hate about modern baseball:

Now, because the umpire warned both teams, Danny Duffy can't come out and drill a Twins player in the rib cage and show them the RIGHT way to throw at a guy.

Salvy kind of took care of it, but still. If I'm the pitcher in the dugout and see that happen, I'm shoving my best fastball at Morneau's ribcage the next time he's up.

Salvy is my favorite Royals in over a decade....easily.

Last player I liked this much was Beltran.

Saul Good 08-28-2013 07:52 PM

Am I nuts for thinking that our rotation could be better next year even without Santana?

stonedstooge 08-28-2013 07:55 PM

Dyson looks to be over his ankle dingers

Nuts? No, it is possible, I guess (if Guthrie is better and you get better prod from the 4-5 starters and IF Duffy can be consistently excellent.

Likelihood isn't great, though.

I'd love to see them add one more guy to the rotation, assuming Santana is not resigned. Josh Johnson, Scott Feldman a couple of names to think about.

TLO 08-28-2013 07:58 PM

A pipe dream I'm sure... but how far back are we in the wild card now? Have ben tuned out from baseball in general for a week or so.

7. Not really a realistic shot IMO.

Yep, though the Royals keep talking like they're still in it. They'd have to go on a major tear to get back into the conversation.

JoeyChuckles 08-28-2013 08:02 PM

That's the type of DP Billy should be hitting into instead of those weak grounders to second.

I feel like the bottom of our rotation should be much better. The difference betweenSantana and Duffy could be less of a drop off than the improvement from Davis to Paulino/Ventura/Zimmer, etc.

C3HIEF3S 08-28-2013 08:05 PM

You are correct sir.

Saul Good 08-28-2013 08:07 PM

This Twins lineup is historically bad. They have ONE batter hitting at least .260 and none hitting .270.
